I started ballet when i was 9 in 2017. Been dancing since and living the dream
same age as you! sadly i quit because of covid and my parents disapprove (im chinese) and they said i would not reach elite levels because im asian, and that i could not go back to china as i do not speak fluent mandarin + training is quite strict and not healthy :") i really hope to start dancing again soon though
@chaeminu I hope you start dancing again, almost every country has a calmer/more gentler dancing class for new dancers! I started in Russia and moved to England x. Even in Russia I found one! Miss Jà will always be the best teacher x

"How did you become a dancer" (started taking class)
I begged my dad for 8 years straight to sign me up
Supportive Parents (It Helps!)
So when I was 2 we had a family friends and one day she just did a pirouette and I asked her Ophir she could teach me how to at the time I was 2 and a year later she died in an accident😢 but one of her friends took it on to still teach me and at 4 I started in a studio and i stayed there till I was 6 then the schedule changed which made me have to change studios so I went to on place when I was 7 and then my parents pulled me out bc of an issue there and for the next 3years I continually danced at home but just for fun….then when I was like 10 we enrolled me back into a studio I was there till last fall and there was a big issue that made me have to drop out and now I’m dancing at another studio and this summer I’m going to be going to a ballet academy❤️ so my dance life has been a roller coaster but I’m glad that if anything I’ve been taught by multiple teachers and multiple styles which have helped me grow!🤍
So sorry about your friend. Glad you were able to persevere through the obstacles in your life, and keep your passion for dance through it all.❤🫂

I started when I was inspired by my great grandmother who did ballet and nutcracker back when she was young. I remember going through photos of her doing ballet and I wanted to do it so my mom took me to classes and ever since I loved it.
My two best friends did jazz in the same class, i felt left out so i joined. I continued dancing at the same studio until one if them moved to Vancouver, and the other went to a different studio. I got invited every year for competetive, next year, im finally doing it.
Thank you to my two besties that inspiried me ❤
She became a dancer by dedicating over 10,000 hours of her life improving her skills!
