I agree with you but also you gotta understand some people STILL have that “oh it’s just guys hitting on you no big deal” mentality. Even with all these things going on you’d think we’d all be cautious but it’s more common than you think. I do not blame them I hope they are able to forgive themselves for letting her go back on her own.
I used to live in that county and worked across from the Richmond police department. Im not at all surprised by this. That police force are so corrupt and lazy, and I hate to say this but theyre also racsists. (im white and I hate racsists so i dont have a problem saying that, its the damned truth) I also can say that her fiance Bobby was a regular customer where I worked. I always felt he was very strange. His behavior was "off". I hope and pray that some day the truth will be exposed. I have always felt so horrible for her family. Theyre good people, you can easily see that. I have also felt that her fiance had something to do with this. Why? Because he was very strange, like I said his behavior was just off every time I noticed him standing around just lingering around. I never once saw him buy anything.
Somar it is so much worse than that. It’s a case of an agency out of control. No leadership, no strong leadership. B type personalities are not Police Officers for very long, It takes a strong A leader to control that much power. Sadly that is lacking. Or was. But to your point, I was LE for my whole life. Color of your skin didn’t mean crap. I have investigated criminal skullduggery for 40 plus years. Many cops do see only one color. That’s blue, but blue is just a part of the family. My dad always warned me against being the bully, or wolf in today’s language. Be righteous and upstanding. Do your fellow man no harm lest he do you harm. Sadly this generation of Police Officer is retiring, so I can only pray that my knowledge was somehow helpful in crafting the young officers today and these cases of malfeasance are rare.
So this guy murdered someone in the past, left plenty of evidence, and instead of staying low, went to get a job that requires his DNA, tried to sue his employer, get unwanted attention and finally karma caught up to him, bravo...

I seriously *hate* when killers do this. They kill themselves, so that they don’t have to face anyone and/or prison-time. They get to die and leave this Earth without telling the families what happened to their loved ones. It *isn’t* fair and it’s sickening.

People who have been proven - without a shadow of the doubt - shouldn’t even receive prison time. They should just get death. Like, only for those truly *evil* people in the world. Why should *they* live and not the person they killed?
There are so many details left out in this story. Niqui was still involved with Swint and she tried to break it off and he wasn’t having it, her fiancé was aware that she was cheating, so I believe that’s why his behavior was so odd. I honestly think he thought she was done with him, not realizing something bad had happened to her
It seems as though she was involved with all three guys. The ex, swint and the fiancé all to different degrees. I believe swint was probably stalker and controlling and following him her, saw she was going to her ex’s house and kidnapped her.

Late to them game here but a still relevant question: I once saw a man harassing a woman on a subway. He followed her from seat to seat when he was just being aggressive and clearly making her uncomfortable (just a note: she was already sitting alone when he got on 2 stops later, they didn't seem to know each other) I'm a dude and an intimidating looking dude. But given how persistent and determined this guys behavior was I thought that if I'd intervened it might ESCALATE the situation some way. This was one of the lines in the LA subway system, no phone calls possible. The seats are just 2 seaters (at least in all the cars I've been on, so I couldn't have "sat between them") What would've been the best to help this person without a) frightening her even more, after all, I am ALSO a stranger and b) not endangering myself or her by trying to be helpful? Yes, there were other people but it's L.A., nobody cares. The best way I've heard L.A people described - _It's not about you, it's not about me; it's about what YOU can do for ME_
@@egregiousqueef7781 this is a late reply to your question but I saw it and thought it was great that you asked so I’ll put my two cents in. I think in a situation like that it might be good to look at the woman and say “hey, are you good?” And the purpose of that question isn’t to get an honest answer because (a) the answer is probably no and (b) the woman might be afraid to say no in front of that man. The purpose would be to show the man that his behavior is noticed by other people, those people don’t approve of the behavior, and at LEAST one person will not silently let him harass someone. You’re letting him know that people are watching and not letting him get away with it. I think this approach helps with both concerns . (1) you’re not overstepping your boundaries as a stranger. You’re showing that you’re looking out without deciding the best approach to that situation or assuming what she wants to be done. (2) you’re focused on interacting with the woman and not the person harassing her. Which I think lowers the escalation risk (as opposed to going straight in with a “hey! What the hell are you doing!”). I think this approach allows for a safer opening to assess the situation, potential for risks, and most effective next steps. If after asking something like “are you good?” They respond with “help me” eyes or something - I would recommend asking them “do you want to sit in this seat?” If there’s one near/next to you. Something like that. Those are my thoughts on it, from my POV as a woman.
I feel bad for this woman. Boyfriend seems pretty cheerful with his fiancé missing. Also, I would never let my sister go back alone where some men were harassing her!! I don’t understand that at all!! 🤔😐
Right! And who's mother would say go back and get your belongings where you were harassed? I'd taken both sisters with me. I say check all the males in her life.
OKAY!!!! You've READ my exact thoughts...Making jokes about spending money! No tears no distress! And the sisters and family just heard their sister being harrassed and you send her to go get her laundry ALONE!!! Somethings don't seem right!
With all these mail-in DNA kits, it's likely some family member has submitted somewhere down the line, so eventually no one will be able to commit a crime like this because they can just trace criminals through their families.
kind of respect her 1st husband for admitting to mistreating and abusing her she isn't here to defend herself but he seemed remorseful. It blows my mind how many people get murdered there are so many episodes of Crime Watch its pretty unsettling we live with and around murderers and don't even know it and its usually someone you'd never expect too thats the worse part.
Because they probably thought nothing of it. Just a couple of immature idiots cat-calling. I mean she was a tough corrections officer. She obviously wasn't afraid as she went right back.
For adults yes its too soon, you can't jst go reporting people missing becasue u haven't heard from them for a few hrs. There would be millions of people reported missing if that was the case mate. But i kinda understand your point too.
Absolutely. Unless you are White and your family has money. People don't care, unless it's their family, including the police. They barely look for Black People. Everytime a Black person gets killed, they say they ran off at first, or they say they committed suicide.
Literally came to comments section to see if anyone else thought that was odd. I've watched this particular episode before - one of the things that stands out the most (besides the obvious) is the part when they say "her mother told her to just finish her laundry there." 1st red flag - every time. *No offense or disrespect meant* It just sounds weird. O.A.N. For all we know she only does laundry once a week then goes to the L.M. so she can get it all done at once. None the less.... Rest Easy, Pretty Woman😞
@Lefter Mc If she didn't want to go there then why was she sitting at their house while her laundry was washing at the laundromat. Makes no sense. They could have let her do* it there because she was already there.
She should be able to do laundry wherever she damn well pleases!! How do u know their machine was working properly? Or they weren't doing their own laundry at the same time?? Or they just didn't feel like letting her us their laundry? Or she just didn't wanna be a bother?? Give me a break!
This case is local to me and I will say her family is still actively fighting for answers to this day 🥺 their fight continues and they deserve justice. If you know something please speak up!
Her family didn’t protect her the way the should have.. from the moment she felt uncomfortable at the laundromat someone should have went back with her to get her stuff
Lakeya yeah agreed!! I feel like all women are annoyed by groups of guys trying to talk to them while they’re out and it’s a little uncomfortable, HOWEVER I’ve never felt so uncomfortable by that to where I felt the need to tell family/friends I’m being harassed like it’s gotta be more than just the usual annoyance at that point !!
You can’t blame them. If it was me I wouldn’t have gone back or just gone back much later. I’m sure her intuition told her not to go back alone. Us women need to listen to that little voice and carry a knife or pepper spray...something.
They really should've said "what you leave in the laundromat? We'll replace it if we can't go with you" and just let the managers of the laundromat throw away her clothes if she felt that threatened.
Seriously, I know he is innocent in this case, but he gave those vibes of a cheery and friendly killer who everyone know as the friendly man who would help out and would never hurt a fly.
If you had paid attention, you would have seen that he did not try to do that - he only returned the rings that were on layaway - so, he didn't even actually return them, he just took them off of layaway.
This is my hometown and reminds unsolved. It was 2 blocks away with friends and family in the area. I hate this happened to such a beautiful woman and her family. Prayers and comfort love you Tammy!
Something that I find really interesting is that you need to wait 72 hours before you can report someone missing, I think it would be much more efficient when they FIND out, immediately that the person is missing. There's so much that can happen in 72 hours
Something is fishy in the fact that her laundry clothing was found folded in her vehicle @11:48. The encouragement by her family was that, due to the harassment at the laundromat, she was to come home to dry her clothes. But she apparently not only dries her clothes at the laundromat, but then folds the clothing and then even goes to the convenience store to buy some items, despite the fact that she told her family that "she'll be back" @2:39. This doesn't seem like a girl who is concerned about some guys harassing her at a laundromat. Also look at her clothing in the convenience store footage. I could be wrong, but it seems her breasts are pouring out of the top of her top @6:39. Her choice of clothing, especially what she is wearing up top, definitely doesn't come across like she is concerned about guys harassing her in a sexual manner "flirting and things along that line" @6:30 as she portrays to her family. Niqui's fiancé doesn't seem her "speed". Working at a correctional facility means you have to be very street smart and savvy. Nothing about her behavior at the laundromat seems to show street smarts, UNLESS there was no threat. With security officer training, she would definitely know how to fight off an attacker to some degree in broad daylight in a public area. So a snatch and grab, without someone seeing, seems out of the question. Telling her family about two men harassing her could have been done to throw everyone off the trail, and having her vehicle parked at her ex's house could have also been done to throw everyone off her trail. She is a beautiful girl and no doubt caught the attention of many inside the correction facility. Those facilities too are where many elaborate schemes are devised and planned. Something was definitely going on between Niqui and Tommy @13:58 if he is sending her lingerie at her bridal shower @ 14:20. He was sending a definite message to her that he doesn't want their relationship to end, and wanted everyone to know that she was his girl, as that is a gross violation of the bro code. That is something some folks would get killed for doing. He obviously wasn't afraid of the fiancé. It would seem she drove to Tommy's location of "her own accord" @12:18, which is totally unacceptable conduct for a girl about to get married, to be at men's location that she had a past with. I think: She parked at her ex's place and walked to Tommy's house to tell him once again that their relationship was over and to tell him that the lingerie gift at her bridal party was a bad and trouble-making idea. She parked at the Ex's house because she was scared that if Tommy becomes violent and does away with her, the police would find her vehicle nearby and do the math to find out that Tommy lived close by. She was right about suspecting him of violence and was killed by him, as you can see by his behavior, that Tommy is a narcissist. He tried to find her vehicle to get rid of the evidence but could not find it in his complex and would never find it being that he doesn't know where her ex lives. As a side note, I want to know why the DNA and fingerprints received from the guy by the police department he was working for, was not run through the database to see if it matched with any previous crimes. I was under the understanding that criminal background checks were done with the collected DNA and fingerprints of government officials that are newly hired.
Unfortunately people assume police are checked against unsolved crimes etc but mostly they are not. We assume government does the right thing way too much I'd say.
I didn’t notice how she was dressed at first but she def has her tits out now that u point it out. I don’t think she tried to break it off with tommy. She probably drove there to have a lil rendezvous with him. And he was a jealous type.

I bet he got all of those police and security jobs so he would know what was next for him if he got caught and so he would know how to get away with it. He was building a game plan the whole time.
Frustrating one of them didn’t go back with her, she said she was uncomfortable and they said your a pretty girl, it’s normal just go back and get your stuff. Then they were calling friends and hospitals, as soon as she was a half an hour late from her pick-up, my ass woulda went straight to the laundry mat!
0:52 I already like this guy. Lots of people do awful things, especially to their partners, but not nearly enough are willing to reflect on their behavior and own it rather than excusing or justifying or shifting the blame. Of course it doesn't excuse or change anything you've already done, but just because you've _been_ a shitty person doesn't mean you have to _stay_ that way.
Harold Frets that’s not the answer and it’s not that easy they have no proof that Tommy Swint had anything to do with my mothers case you just made an assumption
I don't understand why they would bring him in for questioning and confront him about DNA evidence without having a arrest warrant first?! They should have waited to get an arrest warrant first, giving him the opportunity to walk away after the DNA confrontation was a major failure!
I remember when she went missing. I can’t believe that it’s been 17 years and the family still doesn’t have any answers. I pray that they can finally get the answers they deserve and have some closure.
So sad that the family sent her back alone. I got followed in a parking lot and grocery store by what we suspect was a trafficker. I believe someone tried to frame her ex for it. I believe her ex is totally innocent BUT it isn't a coincidence that truck was found in his complex parking lot. No one would be so stupid as to leave a missing girls car in the same apartment complex where they live if they had killed her.
Whitney Dahlin I disagree with the last part of your comment. Criminals do stupid shit ALL. THE. TIME. Aside from that, it’s not the same as a killer leaving the victim’s car in the driveway of their house. Most apartment complexes are big, but in some areas, they’re HUGE and have 1000+ tenants living on the property. They’re also usually grouped really closely to 1 or more _other_ apartment complexes. In these places, it’s absolutely possible for a person to multiple people in the same apartment complex and/or in the surrounding complexes. In those situations, the police have their work cut out for them because they could literally be looking for a complete stranger who just so happens to live near a bunch of her friends.
Yes, Tommy the guy that killed the other girl and who lived next door in the complex where her ex lived, we all knew he tried to set him up I guess he thought he got away with murder before he could do it again.

Being kidnapped or just going missing must be just so horrific of an experience for the person. I mean you know pretty much what's happening to them as soon as they get kidnapped or soon as they're missing or whatever.
You NEVER go to a second location EVER! You fight to the death, scream yell force them to kill you in front of witnesses (which they most likely won't they will usually run away and find someone whos less trouble). NOTHING good EVER happens at a second location. They will torture you maybe for years, they will viciously rape you maybe for years. You're chances of survival basically drop to zero if they get you to a second location. Once they're in private they will harm kill or torture you. In public or in view of cameras they will usually run like the cowards they are.
Better to get shot & scream than obey a man with a gun telling you to get into the car. He will not only rape & terrorize you but he will kill you anyway. Better to just pray & run for it while screaming...you may get shot or ran over but at least then youll have a chance both at living & him getting caught. Also, stop letting this world lie to you ladies....you are not equal in this world. Men can abduct you quite easily with or w/o a gun & you need to think like that in such a way that you either stay armed or always travel with capable men or large groups. Be smart & you will live a better life & even possibly die a better death. Beauty & attention can be the very thing that marks you in the eyes of these selfish heartless monsters whom we confused as men. Today you always hear about how men shouldnt disrespect women but let me be the first to remind you not to disrespect men nor provoke men to become monsters. He may not rape & kill you but he may very well do it to some other girl because of the BS he went through with you that made him begin to hate women & see them as tools to use & throw away like garbage. Many men who smile in your face are not your friends & would rape you if they thought they could get away with it. Be aware of the dark world we are in. Nobody wants to be murdered & raped but this is a reality of this dark world...if anybody needs a gun at all times, women, its you. -A Friend

I just heard that and was like, “WTF?!!!!”

Im not at all surprised by this. That police force are so corrupt and lazy, and I hate to say this but theyre also racsists. (im white and I hate racsists so i dont have a problem saying that, its the damned truth)
I also can say that her fiance Bobby was a regular customer where I worked.

There are so many details left out in this story. Late to them game here but a still relevant question:
I once saw a man harassing a woman on a subway. He followed her from seat to seat when he was just being aggressive and clearly making her uncomfortable (just a note: she was already sitting alone when he got on 2 stops later, they didn't seem to know each other)
I'm a dude and an intimidating looking dude. But given how persistent and determined this guys behavior was I thought that if I'd intervened it might ESCALATE the situation some way. This was one of the lines in the LA subway system, no phone calls possible. The seats are just 2 seaters (at least in all the cars I've been on, so I couldn't have "sat between them")
What would've been the best to help this person without a) frightening her even more, after all, I am ALSO a stranger and b) not endangering myself or her by trying to be helpful?
I love how the family thanked true crime daily at the end. After all this heartbreak... they still manage to be grateful. What Angels ♡

I totally agree with you but your post is massive.
Unfortunately people assume police are checked against unsolved crimes etc but mostly they are not. We assume government does the right thing way too much I'd say.

She probably knew she could park there because it was free, and some one was trying to meet her in the area.
Yes, Tommy the guy that killed the other girl and who lived next door in the complex where her ex lived, we all knew he tried to set him up I guess he thought he got away with murder before he could do it again.
Oh those sisters, they are heartbroken...the ones left behind are the ones to help, they are hurting. When I watch these stories I understand how short life is and how someone can be ripped out of your life. It's maddening at times. God give them strength.
I just read that her fiancé and her mother have both passed away, bless this family, they have been through so much, I can't imagine🙏🙏🙏
Bobby died?
@@-KidWerewolf Yes when looking up this case an obituary for Bobby comes up
I remember this one..such a sad story.
Janelle 09 same here I remember when this aired on tv, she was real cute to such a loss
Hi there, asl please
They posted this vid up here (on UA-cam) before too. I agree. Very sad. 💔
@@luizz18 If she had been ugly would you still consider it a loss? Lol, just poking fun at the way you worded it. But yea she was very pretty. The biggest loss however is she had so much to look forward to and do in life including watching her daughter grow up, marrying her high school sweetheart and had a loving family that obviously are still struggling 17 years later...sad
Winter Harris well a young woman still lost her life regardless a loss is a loss, yea I agree this story is just sad overall
Being kidnapped or just going missing must be just so horrific of an experience for the person. I mean you know pretty much what's happening to them as soon as they get kidnapped or soon as they're missing or whatever.
Very....😪but true
Jessica Zane yea is a sad story. Hope police find the responsible person in this sad situation. By the way u r really beautiful. 😃
-A Friend
You are so fine @Jessica Zane
Police: “hey we know you’re the killer and we have evidence now you can leave have a nice day”. OF COURSE he will either be disappearing or in this case he killed himself. Why didn’t police arrest him right away? 🤷🏻♂️
Why? He saved the taxpayers money. Good riddance.
@K. N
So you'd rather he be alive. Real smart.
Being someone who is paycheck to paycheck I see the moves he made. He needs cash they won’t refund u if you don’t use their facilities they’ll charge posters , reward $$ he needed cash
I don’t think it’s been too often Jason has been so speechless like. Those sisters were so sweet. I hope they get their answers soon.

Yep he looks strung out.
@@Fattypimp1205 that’s what I thought too. At first i was thinking he seemed way too happy doing an interview about his missing fiancé.
@@logun3678 isn’t he allowed to be happy
No, he’s just gay.
She was very beautiful. I thought about this story a while ago something doesn't sit right. How could someone just disappear without a trace?
I know. Someone has to know something. This poor family has no closure. 😞
They found her body on the side of the road. That was the trace they got the matching DNA from
@@memetisseria8153 Omg! What?! That news breaks my heart. Thank you for updating us viewers on this beautiful young woman.
@@kenya9549 The above commenter is incorrect as Niqui's body has still never been found. The body she is speaking of belonged to Tina Marie Ivery the first woman that Niqui's ex murdered in 1991. So unfortunately theres still no update on this 17 year old case..Sad as she deserves a proper burial and family deserves some closure as i read that on every anniversary of her disappearance they gather at the laundromat she disappeared from as a way of remembering her. Another thing not included in this video is apparently Niqui was still involved with her ex (the one who killed himself before he could be apprehended) while engaged to her fiance. Niqui's sister begged her to end that relationship and her fiance was aware that Niqui was possibly cheating and they were attending couples counseling right around the time she disappeared. Her sisters believe that she was too scared to break up with her ex and its possible that she did and thats why he killed her.
Sadly, it happens alot. My cousin, Tracy Ocasio, went missing in May of 2009. We still don't know where her body is, but, we think we have her killer. He has been jailed for life for the attempted murder of another girl, and is suspect in his best friends death as well.
Crime Junkie podcast has done her story too and they do a phenomenal job. And there is a lot more details.
That’s what brought me here, so I could put faces to the story 😂
The way he smiles when talking about his memories of her... beautiful
I just recently found out he passed away so sad wat a good man that admired her

Absolutely nothing to do with the case but is nobody gonna talk about the fact that tommy looks like randy jackson ????
Lol
What a sweet family she has. Her fiancé may be a little different- but he definitely wasnt involved, especially after everything that came out about the coworker. The lady who detectives think knows something should try to tell them anything and everything she thought was weird about him or something he said- as it could break open the case, even if he didnt outright confess murder to her.
The last scene is heartbreaking - those women are so gracious even in grief, class acts
"Niqui's only gone a few days and this dude is already canceling the wedding?"
Interviewer guy for the win.
I could see someone canceling a wedding if their partner up and disappeared - doesn't seem too farfetched.

I have never understood the 72-hour wait for an adult missing person. Under the circumstances, especially missing to pick up her daughter, issue with some men at the laundromat, etc I feel that the police should have acted immediately. &2 hour wait could prove fatal.
Its sad no one listened to her expressed fears of these guys and didnt go back with her - we minimize male violence toooooo easily and tooooo often in society
Please don't put all males into this category of abusers. I've never abused a female in my life. Abusers are usually cluster B personality disordered (narcissist and sociopaths). It's as bad as men saying all women are whatever. I was married to a covert female narcissist. I don't blame all females or say your all like this. I know better.
@@brianwalsh1401 STFU
@@sweetpotato1794 Such and interesting and intelligent reply.
@@brianwalsh1401 they arent grouping men into anything. In fact, no such generalisation was made about men. It was a comment about male violence, which is an issue and that is a fact
The original comment says nothing about what men or who does it. It was a statement about how we dismiss male violence when it does occur.
72 hours before looking for her as a missing person? The 1st 24 hours are critical! Change that law. Wow.
This dude look like Tommy from Martin 😂
TKB TV not the time...
And he finally got a damn job!!! Lol 😂 (sorry, I couldn’t resist when I seen this)
My dad lives right down the street from that laundry mat and Village Pantry. I remember those exact places as a kid. It's so sad that Nikki didn't get back to her daughter!! I remember when this all happened....everyone was on edge!! Bobby seems a bit nervous but it's clear who was responsible for Nikki's disappearance!! What is really weird is that Nikki's car was found in the very apartment complex of her baby daddy! But what I think happened is the guy net her there and she got in with him from there. Park your vehicle there in the apartment complex because she knew it would be safe and she knew the area. Sadly she didn't know the guy she got in with!
Thank you for helping this family 💖
So sad for another beautiful woman
Dwells Southern ...it’s sad for _any_ woman. Looks have nothing to do with it. People with your mindset are the very reason why the media only cover missing person cases involving young women who are “attractive” based on the standards of society. 🙄

There is no waiting period to report a person missing. The police department may ask you to wait but you don't have to. It annoys me that so many people think they have to wait.
Guess what? If the police say you have to wait - then you have to wait! They're the ones who take the report! And you're also wrong - every jurisdiction has their own waiting period. Most are 24 hours. The only ones that you do not have to wait on are underage kids.
I live in Dayton and My friend was murdered last year and still no one has been caught.. she was shot and thrown on the side of the road. We want justice for all the people who just get thrown away without a goodbye and their killers not being brought to justice it sickens me 😪

That's what I thought, too. He was upset, thinking she'd just taken off on him. I can understand his actions if that was the case.
