Thanks for the video, i currently have alot of seperation and side bend in my downswing but i feel i hit the ball fat too much because of this, particularly with irons, driver not so much. Would you have any tips on this as when i dont put so much side bend in i hit the ball better but my draw turns into a big push slice and its infuriating constantly going from nice draws but plenty of fats to good contact but push slices😂
Hey, thanks for the question. Yes, that’s a tough one. I have a client who previously struggled with the same thing. You definitely want to keep that separation and side bend as it will allow you to release and clear harder, but it can cause the club to bottom out in certain circumstances. I would say that your pelvic and possibly torso sway towards the target in the downswing needs to be exaggerated. You want your try and get that pelvis sway to at least 4” (preferably more) towards target in the downswing. That should push your low point forwards and create a better strike. If that doesn’t work, I would be looking at wrist angles in the downswing. If you don’t create enough angles in transition, then that could also cause the club to bottom out. Hope that helps. 👍
@@gregsmithgolfcoachpro thanks ever so much for your reply, really appreciate you spending the time to answer, will be down the range this week to try. Thanks again and all the best👍
I have been trying this drill with pausing at the top ... however , during an actually downswing, I find the feeling of starting the downswing with the turning of the hips is just a micro second before the club begins back down toward the target...is that correct?.....thanks
