On the top left of thebuilding overview, for Houses and Market / Warehouse as well as some other buildings, there's a little icon that you can hover your mouse over to see a progress bar on how much the place is buffed. Houses require stuff with a diamond icon, for wealth = happiness, where as the rest of the buildings all require storage items to boost them. There is a cheap and cheasy way to do this, if you don't want to end up cluttering your village with random junk, just to boost the buildings: you can place the items inside and stacked to get the best result. 35 Buckets for the Market / Warehouse is enouh to fill that progress bar. If you check out my playthrough that is currently going on, of the town Röstholm, I abuse this in every house and other things, but despite that, I still don't have enough storage space eventually. With the chopping areas of the Carpenters, you can press Q multiple times to increase the radius of the circle before selecting the plot to cut down. Do keep in mind, that until you researched it in the Tree of life, you need to manually tell your fields to be harvested and planted, but, you can potentially get 2 yields per field per year.
An excellent knowledge dump - massively appreciated. I will 100% check out your play through, not sure how i feel about the exploit there but having seen how many decorations you have to spam I think I might end up agreeing that it is a good move.... Thank you so much for the support and comment good sir!
I think one important thing you have totally forgotten about is the name of the game... it's vikings, you NEED to start building/planning military section/side of things.
One thing that drives me mad about this game is the Tree of Life.... You are able to grow barley and make booze but no one consumes it without a tavern, and you cant sell it until you unlock trading. Both of which are a lot farther up the tree. Like you said, we are playing as Vikings and there should be a constant demand for booze almost from the start IMO.
Completely agree based on my experience so far - I would add that I expected some sort of way to train raiders / warriors and go raiding earlier but it seems that ability is also locked too far up the Tree of Life.
