This is such an artistically true, conceptually true, technicality true, musically true rendition of this great work. This is SUCH a difficult song to achieve on any single level I mentioned above, yet this wonderful group of virtuosos demonstrated a perfect performance. I’m in utter awe. THANK YOU for your talents! You made me cry over a piece of music. I haven’t done that in years.

Astonishing! Genesis themselves had some difficulties playing this live and eventually stopped performing even the portions of it they had retained in the early 80s. Too hard on Phil’s voice, I think. Absolutely spot on for 23 minutes. Again, BRAVO!
Not only Phil, Banks's keyboards including the rotten "Emulator" he got possessed with, made it impossible to reproduce the sounds the Genetics do here. Banks spent years moaning about the Mellotron - he's still doing it in 2024. Without that sound, SR is a dead duck!

I consider myself privileged to have been to that show along with my twelve-year old son (as well as "The Lamb..." some months previous). It was perfect... and I mean it as a descriptive and true-to-fact statement, that I would repeat under Oath. There is no difference whatsoever with having a time machine and going back to 1974 to watch Genesis perform at its best. I have been a huge fan of "Genetics" since I first heard them around 2014 (my son also is now) and cannot wait for watching them perform once again. Congratulation, Genetics... chapeaux... and thank you, thank you, thank you.

Such a faithful tribute to an incredible piece of music - everything from the instrumentation to Gabriel’s ‘mannerisms’ - wonderful! @@MrPonkine it depend of the period, they played it live in the original key for the first few months of playing it, then the key was lowered in the end of january 1973. Peter was struggling with it too much. Exactly like the singer of genetics.

@@SDsailor7 Yes he did. During 'Selling England' Tour. He was the angel standing in the sun ;) Both Peter and then Phil sang the last part in a lower key, though.
@@MrPonkine it depend of the period, they played it live in the original key for the first few months of playing it, then the key was lowered in the end of january 1973. Peter was struggling with it too much. Exactly like the singer of genetics.

Copiando sus directos incluso!!....genial "Genetics", y qué decir de "Supper´s ready": OBRA MAESTRA por encima de 10, ninguna banda de rock sinfónico (pink floyd, emerson lake and palmer, yes, king crimson, camel, etc...) ha podido hacer este prodigio de octavas, corcheas, semicorcheas, y un largo etc....es simplemente obra de unos genios muy jóvenes. OBRA MAESTRA sin lugar a dudas. Saludos
Es que es esta la mejor canción de Rock Progresivo de la historia encima interpretada aquí por excelsos músicos y que decir de Tom Price , su interpretación de Peter Gabriel es inmejorable.
Un monumental desfile/ de aquel Genesis de antaño/ en agosto de este año/ nos veremos acá en Chile/ y así bien se recopile/ cada tema y su color/ con genuino resplandor/ mi regocijo demuestro/ si vienen junto al maestro/ Steve Hackett ¿qué mejor?
