I enjoy your videos. I took Billy's striping course and it was a great help. One suggestion: instead of going left to right, move right to left. You can go at a diagonal to the next line instead of having to go all the way back past the fresh line. It saves some time and distance that add up.

Hey , great advice. Just add to the what to bring.
A roll of tar paper, great for setting up and cleaning up on and testing your width.
    Adjustable wrenches.
    Spare water 2gals or so.
Can of black spray paint . For any small oops.

Would you do a set up, and set down process, before and after you do the actual painting? Thanks for the vids, they are awesome!

Great video! One more question I have, how long does a 5 gallon bucket of paint last you? How many linear feet or stripes would you say are in a 5 gallon bucket?

Subscribed before I started the video. Looking to get into this trade. There is nobody in 120 mile radius of my location so I'm getting my ducks in a row and give it a shot

Great content! I have a couple of questions I would like to ask:
How do you do a layout of parking lots that are in a curved area?
How many coats do you apply?
How do you clean the machine after the job is done?
Your answer will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I hand paint curves, I’m not as good at curves but I’m getting better. I choose to do them by hand at the moment simply because once it’s there it’s there. So any potential mess ups I try to avoid. One depending upon what the customer’s request are. I actually made a video about cleaning the machine. Hope this helps. There are alot more people skilled than me that’s for sure. Thanks for the support

What's the easiest way to line up the tip to pull the trigger at the start of the line? Do u use roofing paper as a shield? Also do you have a video showing how to set up for curbs like what angle do you turn the spray arm to?

    • @NoName-be5ir
      @NoName-be5ir Рік тому +2

We use a shingle, it’s heavier and won’t blow away. Tear it in half or 3rds.
Now we did use roll roofing to set our machine up. Roll out 10-15 feet toss a few shingle on it and set you width up. Paint won’t go through it. A 30 dollar roll could last all season.

You need to figure out the position of the tip guard in relation to when you should pull the trigger. That comes over time with lots and lots of practice. Some very experienced stripers always use tape or shingles on their start points, but many do not. Just practice again and again and again, and keep a couple of wire brushes attached to your machine.

I have been about 1 year ago on a parking lot that was compacted DG. What type of paint was used for that application? I went back to that casino to see it about 1 year later, and I was impressed as to how well it appears to have stood up. It may be that between then and now it had been redone. What are your thoughts?
