- Earlier today, around 100 farmers participated in a tractor protest organised by the Irish Farmers Association. The peaceful demonstration aimed to show solidarity for European colleagues and express concerns about environmental regulations they believe could impact their livelihoods.
The farmers, rallying outside the European Parliament, highlighted challenges such as rising energy and fertiliser costs affecting their ability to make a living. They also called for action on climate change, citing the impact of extreme weather on their crops. The Irish Farmers Association is not ruling out the possibility of future protests. Our reporter, Josh Byrne, was on-site in Carnmore, capturing insights from IFA Chairman Stephen Canavan.
