Reminds me of my first crush Debbie! Called a local radio station to dedicate this song to her. Ran up the alley to let her hear it, and she held my hand and I was so happy! Truly fun and innocent times! No we didn’t get married, but this song brings back simple memories
One of my favorite groups from the mid/late 60's. This song had a special place in my heart. This certain special girl I who I loved for four years but was too shy and stupid to tell her how I felt. Then one day a Letter from an Angel came to me. I was 500 miles away in school but that certain special girl found me and found out that my heart was hers. We were married 10 months and 4 days later. We celebrated our 53rd Anniversary on Aug. 2nd, 2021. That special girl still has my heart. I am a very lucky man.
From a perspective of a 64 (2 B 65 3/30/2022) yr old man , you're absolutely correct! Remember the time like it was just yesterday. Witnessed dudes coming hm from SouthVietnam 69- 71 , and looked changed tremendously! My uncle was kia mid-3/1968 on SouthVietnams Central-. Highlands near Pleiku , was in the USAs Army's 1st Calvary Division! Ten days B-4 my 11th Bday. It was an interesting crazy time period.
Every time I hear this song it takes me back to the first time I heard it and I am there I'll see the record spinning and I can still see her face it really messes with the heart and it's been 46 years now must have been love I will always think about you Darlene Oller from Paul
1stheard this on famous 56 Philadelphia's wfil in late April 1968, about after my uncle's was kia in southvietnams central highlands , tail end of tet, and ten days before my 11th bday. The 60s was a potent interesting crazy time , and the war in southeast Asia's southvietnam added alot of fuel to the fire of the mayhem.
That verse from 0:45 to 0:54 is probably the one that says it all for every love song ever written. I always thought TNCS was an early version of 'Chicago' (CTA) with their use of various vocals and wind instruments. Rice was sort of a predecessor to Pete Cetera. I would imagine they had some influence on them as they both came out of the same musical style in Chicago.
I admired this grps, new colony's, why's their's record wasn't play on the radio's too often, ??? I heard it's... before on a record once, I sit there's day's dreams, down syndrome s...
This grps, new colony's, 're very handsomes, Mr Ronny rice, lead vocals, also midwesterner, stopped saying he's looked liked other artisited the rappers jay -z no way's Jose, also its'nt funny either, that's a n...s 😮😢😮😊
