I like watching these restoration vids where these talented gentlemen take something doomed for the scrapyard and turn it into a workable machine once again. Very nice!!
Standard restoration of "rusty bike left to rot"- first spray mud on bike, wait till dried then wash off the " years of dirt" with pressure cleaner. Rest is straightforward. Bit of a surprise this one's actually seized.
Панония очень классный и красивый мотик,больное место магнето,но при установке зажигания от Минска вааще огонь,я на таком 2года отъездил, пока не украли.
My brother bought one in a crate sometime in the 1970s? Early 80s? My cousin the dirt biker did the set up. He had a CZ 380 or 400 motocross among others, (Sachs or Puch 175) Spanish bikes before that, one BSA road bike. My brother never rode it much (job hours and new wife, lol) but was fun. Lack of electric start and the odd shifter/kick start lever put people off.
I have a same motorcycle, but from the 50's. It was my grandfather's. I couldn't believe my eyes, when i saw it's a pannonia. Amazing video, and very nice job!

That is an awesome old bike! It reminds me a lot of my first motorcycle, an Allstate Puch 175, made in Germany. I got it from a junkyard and it was in about the same condition. Very fun to ride 😁👍. Thank you for saving another classic 👌

That's some undertaking RM! In for the long haul then. You have all the tools and you certainly are no novice. Years , no decades of experience rise to the challenge! Best wishes from the Belfast Castlereagh hills.
It should have been soaked first to loosen the dirt! This is a Hungarian Pannonia T5, which was produced between 1964-1975, in September 1975 the factory and the brand unfortunately ceased to exist.
@@mystified1429 I am Hungarian, I graduated from primary school in 1975. I was 14 years old at the time, and everyone was sad that the factory was closing for good. That's why I wrote to them before that to send brochures. They were already quietly packing, but they were nice and sent brochures about all types! That was very touching! In Hungary, this brand is already a legend.
@@rossbrumby1957 You don't know the details! The predecessor of this type was designed back in the fifties and remained in production for so long at the request of the Soviets. They needed a simply, easy-to-assemble motorcycle that they could take as much as they wanted. The factory tried, in the late sixties they produced a two- cylinder, modern, fast engine: Pannonia P20, P21. This was too complicated and fast for Soviets, so they didn't need it. In the meantime, the factory was completely out of date, and there was no money to renovate it, because the Soviets had to sell the engine cheaply, and no profit was generated. In the meantime, on the soviet initiative, the socialist countries coordinated production: motorcycles remained in the GDR and Czechoslovakia. Hungary was left with bus production, locomotives, railway cars, truck chassis, and electronic products. The factory tried everything to survive. In 1975, they planned a modern 250, the Pannonia P11, which was up to the standards of the time both in terms of appearance and technical content, but unfortunately only 1 prototype was made of it, and it could no longer be put into production. The Soviet decision was final.
Good job so far, but you might have wanted to mask the filler hole on the gas tank before doing any paint or sanding. Yes, it can be washed out afterwards, but still.
Hmm, nice clever touch. By injecting shots drinks in the screws and nuts, made them drunk enough to not applying too much strength, making it easier to remove.
Blasting water into all the cracks and crevices is not recommended. Be gentle, a soft sponge maybe, after compressed air jet cleaning. Plenty of WD 40 everywhere before attempting to loosen any nuts and bolts. My 1951 Sunbeam S8 was a joy to restore!

Such super vintage 1970s motorcycle?
The motor cycles from the 70's had so much more character than those of today! Great job!
