    A fabulous area Patrick. Monyash is a beautiful village, and the old pub looks ideal in that quaint setting. The grange farm has some lovely cattle and the surprise was to see the peacocks. Lathkill Dale is typical of the limestone vales of The Peak District, with outcrops and cliffs abundant with the rock. Buxton, where I originate from there are similar places on the eastern side, but not on the scale of Lathkill Dale. Many thanks for this production, your videos are so enjoyable and relaxing.

      Thanks again Ffranc. Yeah Lathkill Dale is a great limestone dale, always loved it. Monyash is a great village too and the Bulls Head was always a good one on the green. I was surprised too to come across those peacocks so it was great to see them. Thanks again 👍

    You always put the date at the end of your videos too. I noticed you have nearly 5.000 subscribers now, which is great. What a fab walk and great views too. I used to pass a house in wilmslow each day on the way to work. They owned two peacocks that would be out on the front of the road. It was so nice to see one again, as they are unique looking. Thanks for all your hard work. You walk your legs off for us. Cheers😁

      Thanks Kelly, yes I do out the month of filming in the titles at the end. I'm chuffed to now have nearly 5,000 subscribers, so it's really great. Those peacocks were lovely, one had run off before I could get a shot of it, but I managed to get the other one. Thanks for watching Kelly, from my point of view filming the walks also helps to keep me fit! 🙂

    Beautiful melody with this video Patrick, also the flute version in Lower Lathkill Dale, really like the string work. I tried to play a church organ and discovered my left leg and left arm followed each other so just couldn't play the bass pedals, couldn't stop laughing at what was happening.

    • @solitaryrambler
      @solitaryrambler  2 роки тому +1

      Many thanks for taking the time to watch Steve and for your nice comments. I'm quite pleased with the melody I came up with for this. I do try to experiment with sounds, but I tend to nearly always fall back on the ones I particularly like, so have used the flute quite a few times now. Yes the church organ is very different isn't it, so coordinating feet on the pedals and fingers on the keys can be quite tricky! 😁

    Nice to see the second half of Lathkill Dale. That section is a bit rockier under foot isn’t it? Care is needed! Looks like you’re becoming a bit of a celebrity these days. I had my first encounter with a viewer of my channel on a recent walk. Like you, I always enjoy stopping and chatting with people on a solo walk. Do you enjoy a walk without the camera too? I’ve had a few months off filming just to get back to enjoying nature without the pressure of capturing footage. Took the camera out today though and enjoyed it. I think the break did me some good 🙂

    • @solitaryrambler
      @solitaryrambler  2 роки тому

      Indeed Upper Lathkill is much rockier, it does make it tougher underfoot. Not sure about a celebrity Anthony 😂 but I think more people watch UA-cam these days, so when I've been out I've been spotted by other walkers as I guess it's in their field of interest too. I do enjoy walks without the camera. I do that more so this time of year when the days are shorter and it's a good time for a break from filming. Glad to know you've been back out again. See you out there 👍

So it's all new to me. Lovely piece of piano melody there Patrick. We would love to bump into you on a walk. Another terrific walk! Do you know if that peacock wild or domestic? Such a beauty. 6 takes to do one segment must be very frustrating especially when you’re feeling the time constraints of a shorter day. The video before this one that took 8 hours to film has to be one of your best imo so take pride in its excellence.

    • @solitaryrambler
      @solitaryrambler  2 роки тому

      Thanks Jean! I guess the peacocks were domestic as they were on the farm, but I can't be sure. I never find the time of filming frustrating, but as I know how long it normally takes me, I know I have to really get on with it particularly during the shorter days. However, I really enjoy doing it, especially when I am pleased with the results and receive lovely positive feedback from people such as yourself 😊

      @@solitaryrambler I know you’re already an accomplished musician and write/play all your own music for the vlogs. But in order to play a church organ, with stops, pedals etc.which is a different instrument than you’re used to, you might ask someone to give you a tour of a church organ or suggest to pay for some organ lessons as opposed to music lessons. It seems a shame not to look for an opportunity 👀 😀 👏
