I'm assuming he practiced till he got it down to where he could repeat it a couple times. Had a few video takes. Then spliced it all together. This could lead to a couple mishaps in the video, not his playing.
it's not, honestly, it's because his chops aren't full there, you can't see the second stroke as clearly because it's not as high as the first floor tom hit. just trust me on it, go play it on your kit, it will sound exactly like his fill. it's a very common fill used by most drummers that have been playing for six months to a year, it sounds harder than it is. you got this dude, just get those rudiments. remember RLRRKK
im not hating on ricky or cobus, BUT. ricky is like the freestyle type he'll listen to the song then head to record, well he has an idea of what he doing, cobus on the other hand cobus rehearses he plans for a song, then record it. both of them have feeling but every drummer has a different take on the way a song feels to them
cobus is a creative well respected drummer who put a lot of work into his drumming and started out with a crappy drumset and worked his way up to endorsments and nice gear. ricky is just way overrated, not creative, and for this song the only thing that made its sound "cool" was because he did flams on the double bass.
negative captain, it's sixteenth notes, just the accent is moved around since it's in groups of sixes it's One e and a two e and a three e and a four e and a one e AND a two e and a ...like that then it catches up once he hits the two quarter notes at the end. but it's sixteenths Snare rack floor floor bass bass then repeat that pattern three times
actually just kidding haha. it's not a paradiddle, it's just singles. so it's EVEN EASIER than how i explained. RLRLKK so Snare rack floor rack kick kick. as long as you play the sixteenth note pattern you'll be good. it basically sounds the same if you move the last rack to the floor, you can do it sir

They're both extremely good drummers but Cobus probably only goes over the song once or twice cause hes honestly so good he doesn't half to practice for forever! But I agree on Ricky, he is the more freestyle drummer and cares more about the production and the video looking cool than the drums being crazy good or fast!
I'm going to tell you why Ricky has that fame that others don't.At least my opinion. I've checked the other guys you mention and immediately I felt why Ricky is still my favorite. Well, the only one that I liked too was philjdrums. WHY? Because both LOOK HAPPY WHEN THEY PLAY! They made me feel that they ENJOY what they are doing! A smile on their face and that feeling that they love what they are doing. I'm not saying the other guys don't enjoy it but Ricky and philjdrums just transmit that joy.
