    As always great initial review Sam.
    V1 worked really well for my long runs. V2 not so much.
    I’m really interested to read your full review, in particular I’m looking for a comparison between this and the magic speed 2 for mileage range 13-20 miles

  • @pauldelaney4186

    The 2’s are nice, cushioned and comfortable but feel a bit heavy and ‘flat’ for my running style. I just use them a little in my vast rotation for recovery/easy runs. The 3’s definitely sound like they will be better and more versatile. I like my Tempus for more stability but they are much less cushioned.

    If I could have only one shoe, it would be my Novoblast 2. I have V3 on preorder. Unfortunately, the shipping date has been delayed to 9/29 or possibly longer due to supply chain problems.

    The glideride is so good, it's hard to pick this shoe up as well since they seem very similar.

      More stack and lower drop for Glideride 3 and about 1 oz heavier. Also somewhat more rigid rocker with in its mix the front foam plate and more locked ankle. Both great fun shoes.

    I’ve purchased quite expensive and highly cushioned shoes from On Running, New Balance and others. But the shoe that works best for me as a daily trainer and for a wide variety of runs and workouts is the humble ASICS Cumulus 23 and 24. Based on my positive experience, I am definitely open to trying other shoes from ASICS like the Novablast 3, Noosa Tri 14 and Glideride 3.

      23 was good for me, 24 a bit too soft

    • @iakona23
      @iakona23 2 роки тому +3

      @@RoadTrailRun if I’m looking for lots of cushioning for longer runs or recovery runs, the Cumulus 24 feels a lot better to me than the New Balance More V3 or the On Running Cloud Monster or especially the Hoka Bondi 7 which I hate. But I also like the less soft ride of the Cumulus 23 for many types of runs. I do also like the On Running Cloudstratus V2 and the Cloud Monster. I can’t use shoes like the NB More V3 anymore.

      @@RoadTrailRunWould the novablast 3 be easier on the knees than the cumulus 24? I have the cumulus but still find its a bit harsh if only running on pavement.

    • @iakona23
      @iakona23 Рік тому +2

      @@Kaisersozze I would like to know the answer to that question as well. Lately I’ve been running a lot on pavement with the Mizuno Wave Rider 25 and that shoe has worked for me a lot better than I thought it would. I’m pretty fresh even after running 7 days in a row and up to 9 mile runs.

    Usual good video Sam..I could not use V1..not enough cushioning in forefoot, it was too hot and the 10mm drop was a knee killer..the raised center in the forefoot was also a hot spot generater ..skipped V2..curious if the issues have been resolved..

      V1 was the best having used both V1 and the tamed V2. Hope these go back to the wild bounce the V1's gave as THAT to me was true fun. Never had the issues people had with the V1s so enjoyed them thoroughly.

    My problem with the Novablast 2 is that despite the drop in the Novablast 2 is said to be 8mm but in the test where they cut the Novablast 2 they found 13+ mm 👀. I felt it from day one and did not use them much. How do you feel about the drop in the Novablast 3? I don't believe the official numbers .. In the 1080V12 I felt an amazing drop said to be 8mm but in cutting it was only 4mm. I seem to like the 4 mm best because the 1080V12 is super smooth..

      Thanks! Considerably more forgiving bouncier and more cushioned than Noosa Tri. If you like Noosa Tri take a look at Magic Speed 2. We will have a written review soon. While somewhat heavier a much more fun and forgiving ride and likely as fast too as Metaspeed Edge + for most and for $100 less

    Hi, is that not dangerous of using two different version on your feet when you run? Or maybe you can tell me and the audience that you using it on maybe 400 m, 800 m, etc. I'm just worried about the long term health issue if you doing it too in other shoes in long runs.

      Depends. I compare current to prior and occasionally different models when there few if any changes/differences to geometry. Most of my test pairs have light distance. How does this compare to the Endorphin Speed 3?
    Also, I seemed to get a little lost in the Squish of the Novablast 2. The transition just seemed a little slow and more labored than my Speed 2s. Can you give a little more detail about the difference in the transition between the Novablast 2 and 3

    • @RoadTrailRun
      @RoadTrailRun  2 роки тому +2

      Speed 3 given Nylon plate snappier quicker feeling with foam feel close in softness although Speed’s PEBA more energetic and a touch firmer. We’ll get deeper in transition details in full review but combo of softer foam, broader platform and new rear geometry with less plastic has 3 transitioning easier
