The one with Jim Carrey was the best

Well unlike the movie this covers all the books

I don't know how people aren't feeling this aesthetic. The bright, vibrant colours juxtaposed with the gothic gloom. The way everything feels out-of-timey. That bright red old-fashioned fire engine. The trolley. The books were all about contradictions and subversion of expectations. The bright colours and happy music do that so well. So creepy. I love it!
ik it's amazingly well-done, I love it! I hadn't even realized those things until I read your comment and then I realized that's part of what makes me enjoy it sm and I didn't even realize it :D

Honestly, I am obsessed with each actor’s portrayal of the characters. Violet’s ribbon is now iconic. Well done, Netflix. You stole my heart.
One of the most scariest things about these books (besides the nigthmare of losing my parents) is that adults never listen to children. Like if they talked a different language. It's really scary because it makes you feel alone even more if you don't have your parents to protect you from the evil that surround you. I hope the series conveys the meaning of that.
reqrds Omg i hope so too
(Holds a glass of wine) *True story*
Oh...they did
And now they did, and executed it VERY well, I must say

The movie version was just a cheap imitation of Olaf. He was too comedic.
"That film was better"
What are you comparing it to? The series that isn't even out yet??
Thank you! People give it a chance!
My only serious complaint with all three seasons is that “The End” was the longest book but the shortest episode
True
Ya I was so sad
No the 12th book was the longest
Ikr i was like "NO my life is ruined"
But seriously it was short
That’s cause the end was a little slow in the middle and they cut that out
Also the end book had a lot of backstories, but the show had gotten them out the way earlier
This was a great show, it's crazy to think it ended almost 3 years ago!!

or when she had to sleep in A COVERED CASSEROLE DISH ?????
so, is it safe to assume that this season covers the first 4 books?
It is actually confirmed that it covers the first 4 books.
Tahlato nooo
Two episodes per book, about two hours per book. Sounds about right
Considering the size of the first four, that's more than enough. Hope this works out well, and they start doing more episodes for each book, since they're longer.
Two hours for each book is more thane enough. Each novel time span is no more than a few days. In fact, the entire series technically happens in the span of two weeks tops.
even after 6 years this is still my favorite series on Netflix

Funny reading the comments of people saying it doesn't look or feel like the books while this is written by the author of the books himself.. I mean the man didn't even like the movie soooo...
Cedric Mathew Hudson ikr it also annoys me seeing all these people complaining that it's not dark enough when the books weren't super dark either.
+alexis diaz Yeah it's not like people died even book , from being thrown into moving saw blades to bring eaten alive by leaches. No , the books were just a jaunty stroll through happy town! And the characters in book definitely didn't experience horribly situations , like being forced into child slavery or seeing their sister almost die
It will be both dark and humorous best example I can give is Evil Dead which is over the top as hell yet still stays creepy and disturbing
+PeeWee McQuestionable Yeah but rewatching this I fear they're going to do what they did in HYMIM which is have a dramatic moment or a moment or tension , and instead of leaving it , ruined it with some stupid joke. That's what they're doing here. Neil Patrick Harrison is playing Olaf as barney from HYMIM. Olaf was a very funny villain , but he was not a sitcom character , and he still was very threatening a lot of the time.
Have you seen the latest trailer when Olaf is in disguise you can see pure hatred in his eyes
I actually low-key love this. Very stylized. Almost like a parody of a storybook. It has a very different feel from the movie.
true i remember watching the originale movie and being scared sometimes
The original movie was so bad it tried to cram 3 books into one movies
it's suppose to have a different feeling from the movie, that movie was so off and just WRONG, like the WRONG the clock makes at the Hotel Denouement when it strikes 12.
Mohd Amerul Aidil yeah we really don't know who killed the Baudelaire's parents. It is made to seem like it's Olaf since he's obsessed with fire. Clause does accuse Olaf near the end of doing it but Olaf denies it.
That's exacty what the original books were meant to be. A children's storybook where the good guys die and the bad guys get away with it. It was a rejection of the sanitized tropes of children's fiction.
"Why do you hate us so much?!"
"Because it"s FUN!"
This is a review of A Series of Unfortunate Events:spoiler alerts!
Hi. My name is Liam and I'm 13 years old. I owned all of these books for the past 3 or 4 years but never got to reading them.
When I saw the trailer I thought I'd give it a shot. My friend told me the season covers the first four books, so that's all I've read so far.
I loved the books, while it was a dark topic it was so funny and ironic how the only smart people in the book are the orphans.
After the books, I saw the movie. It loosely covered the first 3 books and looked very depressing, not really showing the comedic irony from the books that I loved. I thought Jim Carrey did an OK job. But I didn't like how it ended on a cliff hanger.
Next, I saw the show. It was way better than the movie and was a great adaptation of the book, given that IT WAS CO-WRITTEN BY THE AUTHOR OF THE BOOKS DANIEL HANDLER. The sets were marvelous even though some tech was ahead of its time in the show given that it takes place in the 50s/60s. I felt much more attached to the care givers considering we got almost an hour learning about them instead of 15 minutes. I loved the acting, Neil Patrick Harris did great as Olaf, very smart-alicky (if that's a word) at times and it was great. I can't say much about Violet Klaus and Sunny, but I did think the actors for them did really good in the show.
Overall, I reccomend this show to anyone of all ages.

I'm starting to question if half of the people in this comments section that claim they read the books, actually read them. There are some people claiming that the books didn't even have humor. Did I wake up on a different Earth?
Sora_X5 IKR! The book had LOADS of humor!
Sora_X5 yeah but the humour of the books was darker and really clever, especially for a children's book which made it stick out!

This series was so good! It wonderfully captured the melancholy and whimsical tone of the books, while including Snicket's somewhat absurd dark humor. Would definitely recommend watching!
Why does everybody seem to think the series of unfortunate events books were extremely dark and non-humerous. The 2004 movie got it all wrong, it is supposed to be ironically humorous, and slightly cheerful, while being based on such a dreary terribly upsetting topic, that is also ironically hilarious. "A series of unfortunate events" is literally a comedy series. Netflix got it right. I mean Daniel handler helped with most of the production
So obviously he knew how he wanted it to be set.
At the start of the series they say it wont have any happy endings so you expect it to be sad as fuck etc.
Strangely enough the 2004 movie wasn't dark or humorless either. I don't really get where these people are coming from. Maybe they didn't understand it?
+MrAndre - Humorless, no - no iteration of this story can be described as "humorless". But dark, it is indeed. Very dark. It is, after all, a series of unfortunate events.
MrAndre that is so true
Finally someone understands. DO people forget these novels are for children.
This looks humorous. I hope it fits in with the books that were supposed to be dark.
Of course. It seems like they're going for a dark comedy/drama approach since the books could be quite ridiculous.
Ian Randolph The books were loaded with humor, so I'm glad they didn't go all-out dark. I just hope they found the right balance.
I agree. It has been a while since I last read it but the series did have plenty of dark humor. One of my favourites is from the Miserable Mill where they get chewing gum for lunch XD
Ian Randolph The movie has a similar "PG dark humor" running through it
I thought they said it will be darker then movie. But really this looks even more funny! And colorful! Count Olaf feels too funny by himself too. In books he was only funny because he was getting things wrong. But in this trailer he seems like genuinely funny character, again same as in movie. Not quite same person who haunted my dreams when I was little -_- But dunno, maybe I just remember it more dark then it really was. Havent re-read it since I finished The End.
I'm Turkish. I I finished all episodes of the Adventure of the Unfortunate Series in a week. Congratulations to an incredibly beautiful series.
Not going to lie, I didn't see Neil Patrick Harris being a good fit for Count Olaf, but I was wrong. Even though I vaguely remember the books, and remember Mr. Poe being a moron, the dude acting as Mr. Poe is driving me crazy. I don't know if that's just really good acting or if I just don't like the actor. Either way, I'm loving this show and can't wait until season 2.
i hit bombs Nah, I really wanted to slap the Mr. Poe in the books too lol

I think they've mimicked his style but not carried it off nearly as well as he would
Lol the show is adapting the books style of storytelling and world building and the books came out way before Pushing Daisies, so yeah, you might want to rethink that.

MightyManotaur22 yes you are
I am he's fucking killing it.
Don't think he will top Jim Carrey for me
The only thing bugging me is the voice. I'm so use to Jim Carrey's Olaf voice.
Jim's issue to me is he's likable Which is normally fine, but int his particular series? No. You arent supposed to LIKE Olaf, you're supposed to despise him, you're supposed to hate him so much and want him to lose/die/get arrested so when someone plays him I think they have to play him unlikable. He had silly moments in the books, if I remember correctly, but you are supposed to hate everything about Olaf so having such a likable actor play Olaf isnt a good idea IMO
this is the most underrated show on netflix
Yes.
It got to confusing
Every episode/season is just them trying point out to people that that's count olaf in disguise and the people not believing them. it gets so boring every time he gets away with it in every episode until he finally got killed in the final episode
Its like among us but with mystery
@Pristine Artifact its becomes less interesting through the other seasons
If Mr.Poe did his job, this wouldn’t have happened. But y’all aren’t ready for that conversation yet.
I really want this to be good, but while introducing the stronger sense of surrealism I fear they lost the somber gravity of the series.
Tempos Definitely agreed. The reason these books were so unique was the seriously dark undertones. This just looks tacky...
Right.. i remember getting scared when uncle monty was killed
+rento liting and depressed
I'm betting it will be very dark the last trailer showed darker elements this is just showing the comedy elements and I have to say I love how over the top this is
Mr Critical but that might make the series very tonally inconsistent if not done properly and make the show difficult to watch. It's a difficult balancing act
I don't see why people say it's bad that this show has humor because they say there was no humor in the books. The humor in the books was that every adult was either evil or stupid and the only smart characters were the kids.
Thats how I feel. Im actually rereading the book series right now and while it is super dark, its also really comedic. It's pure ridiculousness at some points. (Like Klaus and Sunny pretending to be the two women with white faces in the hospital. Umm no, not a chance. But still hilarious.) I'm very excited to see the series.
Also when he says things like "The moral of the story is stay away from count Olaf" I found a little funny. I think there should be comedy but I don't believe it should be a comedy show.
Jack Land I don't like count olf
C Reg congrats you understood the story...
Kaylee Nivens or THE END were while all the islanders were abandoning them and Kit was giving birth, Olaf was dying yet he just said, "Are you here to bow beafore the king of Olaf-Land?"

i know its too early to judge but still not feeling they portrayed Count Olaf accuratley by the books , he seems much darker and scarier and crazy in the books , here he seems more humourous than scaryy .. just my opiion , anyone feel the same?? :/
Olaf was a clever joker villan and loved being comedic yet serious. He loved trickery and confusion, but most of all uncertainty. This portrayal is spot on for me.
Lex Grit I also don't like how he has a high voice that makes him less scary and more funny the count Olaf from the old movie was SPOT ON
Crisscross The movie wasnt that good.

Shadow Lord lol I'm actually a total Sandler fan (it surprises me too, it's only been 3 years), but had no interest in the unfunny Ghostbusters rebust or whatever, and whatever this is. Unfortunately one thing that does get good reviews EVEN WHEN THE REVIEWER SAYS THEY DIDN'T LIKE THE EPISODE is Gotham :/ he'll admit the show isn't even good...and then make up positive points and pretend it's interesting and give it a 7.8 on IGN. i know Sandler's stuff is lame but it tickles me inexplicably :P
This is, without hesitation, the greatest series to have ever existed.
I just rediscovered it and I'm crying 😭

I don't get it
who's the woman at the end of the trailer with the Harpoon Gun?
samvideo That's what I'm wondering myself, but if I had to guess, I would say it's Esme?
it could be Fiona or possibly Kit, though she doesn't look pregnant.
I really hope they don't make it too comedic. I loved how dark the series was!
Same here, it might be my skewed opinion from when I was a kid but I fondly remember them being very dark and depressing books, and I hope they replicate that. There were of course many happy moments, but they were always immediately stripped away from the Baudelaires. It's what the film got wrong imo, and judging how Poe breaking the news of their parents death to them in this trailer gives off a comedic tone I'm a little worried that they can't handle the more solemn, and suspenseful, moments. There is some really depressing stuff in there, and the books are rather close to my heart. It's what'll make or break the series for me, and considering this has been a long time dream of mine I desperately hope they don't mess it up.
exactly what i'm thinking, count olaf making jokes like this really doesnt fit super well with the book character- i REALLY want them to do this right!!
Its almost like the director is just trying to remake the movie.
WEll.... the movie was also only the first three books.
Season 1 will be books 1-4. So will cover much of the same ground.
Agreed. The opening of the film was dark and grim and it actually did a good job of capturing the delightful darkness. They left the ending open because they didn't know if they would get the funding to make more which sadly they didn't.

I remember being too scared to read the books as a kid (the movie creeped me out). Now as an adult, I just finished watching the series and loved it so much that I’m in the process of reading the books. (And boy was I missing out!)
I read the whole series in 4th grade. And once I found out they were making a Netflix series about it that was the only reason I wanted Netflix. I am pretty late since it’s been 5 years but now I’m finally watching the series and I love it!

It’s Such a fantastic adaptation!

I know right
Given the accuracy already portrayed here in the Trailer, the show is ten times better than the movie and the movie was nothing more that a bastardization of the source material. The movie covered only three books glossed over every important key aspect of the novel and somehow managed to end the film, which again was covering three books, with the ending of the first book.

I'm not sure I'm feeling the tone; I'm getting strong Jim Carrey vibes from NPH and the general attitude here seems pretty slapsticky. For all the flak the movie adaptation got I actually think it had a more somber tone compared to what it seems like this show will be. I'll have to wait to see until I can pass judgement though.
Yeah, I'm getting the same vibes, I prefer the earlier trailer where it was funny but menacing. Still though, it looks like it's going to be decent.
I'd recommend going back and re-reading the books though, they seemed dark at the time but they're actually really rather silly.
Silly? Wait, are you telling me 'blind justice' doesn't involve physical blindfolds!
Yeah, it's dark, but it has comedic moments.
mkchillin actually there was one book where they went to a restaurant and it was all salmon literally so it did have its Goofy moments .

O ma gawd
Wow. Well, this seems extremely child like. I though the remake would be SOMEWHAT dark. Well, now I'm sad :(.
Ummm, the books are children books. Soooooo, yeah
Brandon Gray Oh yes I have and yes they are dark, but they have an odd charm.
The darkest things I've ever seen have had a lot of humor to add a lot of contrast. Downers just break the rhythm of a trailer. I wouldn't give up hope on this one yet.
i read the last book when i was too young to understand then i read it again around a few years later and it hit me full effect
The books had a dark storyline, but it was also extremely whimsical and full of humor. It's not meant to be totally grim and morbid, it takes place in a world where adults dine at fancy restaurants where all the waiters pretend to be fish. Where a small general store, in the middle of a desert with no roads or signs of life nearby, sells practically everything imaginable. Where a town is ruled by geriatric bird fanatics who all wear realistic bird hats. It's meant to be imaginative and silly, while also managing poignancy.
Mariah Dillard? what the fuck are you doing here?
George maybe a crossover between to Netflix' series...🤔
maybe A Series of Unfortunate Events is set in MCU
George She's actually a very accomplished and award-winning actress before Luke Cage came around.
Maybe she left because she realize that she cant lead Harlem without Cottonmouth, or is that Misty is looking for her, or worse, Diamondback is looking for her👍
Diamondback is just one of many Olaf's disguises!!
Neil Patrick Harris must have had a blast playing Count Olaf.
How is it that I just realised olaf's doorbell ringtone is his 'he's the count hes the cound hes the count' in the 'wedding'
How is it that I just saw this XD
Well no not really "hes the count" is following the melody of the jingle
Netflix, you make great stuff, but can I bring you up to date on something I don't think you understand about "A Series of Unfortunate Events"? "A Series of Unfortunate Events" is NOT a comedy series. It's not meant to make you laugh at all. Count Olaf is not a Looney Tunes villain, he's a terrible, horrible, frightening and greedy man who will not exercise with power. He will hurt and/or kill you if he gets the chance.
Have you ever read the books, dude? It's a dark comedy. Count Olaf is an over-the-top hammy villain. The situations are absurd to the point that they're humorous. Every character is a parody/reference to a historical/literary figure. You might want to reread the series if you missed out on all the jokes.
godzillavkk Dude Count Olaf was all those things but he was also hilarious. The books were filled with comedic moments. One of my favorite quotes from the book went something like this
"If writers wrote as carelessly as some people talk then doajcialxbuxciel"
not exact but you get the point haha
Kevin Quibodeaux
Well it never made me laugh. And I've read the books numerous times. And most of the time, I shared the kids fears and concerns. And I found Count Olaf to be one of literature's most nightmarish villains.
godzillavkk It has to be a little funny, or else it won't be any fun !
Toy Films
Too much comedy however isn't good for you.
The author of the book himself wrote the damn TV shows. And he hated the movie. So if you're saying this isn't accurate, you have a lot of horse shit in your mouth. I remember the books as being very funny in a dark way, sometimes monotonous, sometimes sarcastic. Jim carry was only ok but nph nails it. The kids are also better in this. Stop hating when you don't know what you're talking about
I still dont really trust it...
chocoholicSISTA263 not relevant l
chocoholicSISTA263 Just because he isn't narrating it doesn't mean he isn't happy with it. He isn't an actor, so getting someone else to act while he writes is by far the smarter option
Aniv Khawaunju ya I read all the books!!!!!!!!!!!
I liked the Jim Carrey movie, but just because it was Jim Carrey. This one seems more interesting because of all the journeys we can expect to see judging by the trailer.
The best underrated tv show in netflix
"Do you know what this is?" "It looks like a list.." "WROONG! It's a list."
A list of chores
i know i'm the only one but man i really loved the eeriness of the original movie
Don't worry, you're not the only one :)
I really did too
totally agree, loved the original movie but am Very excited for a reprise.
I watch this trailer and the tone to my opinion looks the same as the Jim carry movie! Like holy shit!
I watched the movie again last night in readiness for the series - and the bits they show on the trailer look exactly the same as the movie. I was quite surprised how similar they are
Somehow I liked the original movie with Jim Carrey.
the movie sucked but yeah i felt like jim carrey was better
Skinny_ Wite_boy the illustrations and set designs were really good.
he was better, too bad he didn t play a woman role like this olaf does, this makes him look closer to the character from the book
Amit Budhraja
Amit Budhraja it hasn't even come out yet wtf
this just brings alot of memories from my childhood..the movie is one of my favourites..no one can replace jim carrey
Agree ! But I can't find where to watch the movie again yet 🥺
It has a few good moments, and a lot of tedious moments. The adorable child who plays the little girl essentially carries the film and deserves an Oscar. She radiates joy.
I think at that age, she's just being her natural lovable self, which means: not acting...which invalidates an actor from receiving an award which is awarded for - ACTING. But yes, she's great!
1:09 HE BOUGHT IT ONLINE??? What is the year setting here?
mrKpooper4 whatever year you want it to be. Snicket used a ambiguity time setting. he would drop things from most time eras to screw with us. and show will the shkw
That pissed me off so much. What a piece of Schmidt joke. I pray that they capture everything the books did.
mrKpooper4 From what I can gather the books take place in an alternate, steampunk, reality. Where they dress and speak in an early 1900s vibe, but with the humor and tech of the early 2000s.
Same as Archer?
The book series had Super Computers and credit cards and cell phones. There IS no time period, that's the point.
Olaf's disguises are as believable as team rocket's
I now realize why my mom bought me the entire collection of a series of unfortunate events because I've might of binged watched the show on my laptop at three am before so I'm pretty sure she heard me
The movie wasn't a big success, but this show was successful.
I just finished rereading The Ersatz Elevator and damn I hope they capture the subtle suspense of that book
Me toooo
FireofGia
That and Slippery Slope are my favorites!
the best imo, apart from the penultimate peril
It's apparently 2 episodes per book. So this season would go until the Austere Academy and as the sixth book, The Ersatz Elevator would be next season.
I just got on to Ersatz. Ive read The First book, Reptile room, Wide Window, Miserable Mill, Austere Academy, and now I'm on Ersatz
My god... this season is freaking good!! They have been following the books so closely. I really liking this season so far and can't wait for next season, but it's next year... -_- You know, my opinion, I actually prefer movie more than tv series. Big shout to fantastic actors and especially well-done kids! Also, Patrick Neil Harris is killing it! Can't wait for next season!
And the actress who played Sunny is freaking adorable!
The suger bowl is not mentioned until book 8, but it's mentioned in passing. Patrick Harris has reworked some of the background adding the conspiracy weirdness that wasn't in the early books. The series is very good
"Kids this is the story on how your uncle barney got famous"
Ok ummmmm
I watched this series on Netflix and it’s REALLY good. The story is so interesting and makes me want to watch more and more. The actors are amazing too! I like how Lemony Snicket tells you not to watch, and how he is connected to the story and isn’t just a narrator.
Despite it being depressing, it had some funny moments too. The people who directed this are really creative
10/10, I recommend watching.
(Warning: you may not be able to let go of the story)
Edit: the songs are catchy-
Is it wrong to feel that Jim Carrey should have reprised his role as Count Olaf?
Not wrong AT ALL. I so badly wish Jim could play him again! He was PERFECT!
I have to disagree Jim is loved by everyone which transitions into the character which doesn't work for Olaf as your supposed to despise him here because NPH isn't as well known and is hated by some due to his sexuality it can help transition into the character
Mr Critical I really don't think that hating someone over their sexuality should have any effect on how their seen as a character
*they're
Sad truth is it can some people just can't get past that element
Robbie Rotten: The Series
Sentrydown 😂😂
"I will have to TEACH you how to be ARSONISTS"
"Now look at this disguise, that I just found. When I say go, be ready to put it on. GO! WHAT ARE YOU DOING? ARREST HIM, NOT ME!"
yes
He's a Master of Disguise....
2:12 best moment in season 1 xd
Jacquelyn: I'm taking you to prison
Count Olaf: Well good luck with that. I'm armed.
Jacquelyn: So do I!
Count Olaf: Child's play.
Jacquelyn: Adorable.
*iS tHAt A HarPOoN GuN??*
'I am taking you to prison'
'Oh good luck with that. I am armed'
'So am I'
'Child's play'
'Adorable'
'Is ThAt A hArPoOn GuN?'
Oh I am so dead🤣🤣
Looks amazing! I love that they're expanding on VFD and all the connections between the guardians. Maybe a little too much humor in this trailer, but I have a feeling the show will be darker and the jokes will be more spaced out. Can't WAIT!
Yeah, NPH said he was playing Count Olaf how he was in the books - dark and menacing, and only a tiny bit goofy (sandglass scene anyone?), unlike Jim Carry's approach :/
Kaitlyn SovereignChild Yeah, judging from this he has a lot of the same camp that Jim Carey did. This Olaf doesn't seem nearly as menacing as the book. I'm still very excited!
Jim Carey is much more menacing than Neil in this trailer. Jim Carey was perfect.
Correction; Jim carry is always perfect.
EASTER EGG:
If you look closely at 0:47 while the log is being split into two, you can see the small bits of wood form the V.F.D. logo.
I finished it today, and it left me highly satisfied and I'll rewatch it mutiple times. Maybe I'll even read the books one of these days. I was aware of the movie from the mid 2000s, but I never got around watching it.
Went through the entire series in one summer, I remember, still glad my teacher made me read it as part of summer reading :)
9 years later and I still wonder who the evil man in the submarine heading towards them was
Question is...was it the "Great Unknown" really evil? Or is it good?
Omg the memories
FranoBrick Productions SAME
*Goes to cry in a corner nostalgically about his childhood*
Do you mean the question mark shaped "Great Unknown"? If so, than you can read the prequel series "All the wrong questions". Though, as always, it's not stated explicitely, but heavily implied what The Great Unknown actually is.
Mysterious guy travelling in a question mark shaped object?.....
It's obviously the Riddler.
Riddle me this, Riddle me that....Where does one go to find a bat?...
" i bought it online" yet the whole story is from the 50's, 60's.
I think it's being set at a more modern date in this version
I don't think we ever find out when it was set? Am I wrong?
OMG THAT'S WHAT I SAID!
There's a computer mentioned in the Austere Academy, so no
yeah well its a fictional book
I am expecting that this will be better than the movie adaptation. I haven't watched this series yet, but I've read the book. So, I think that all of the stories from each books from the series will be shown here, and not be skipped like what they did in the movie. Hoping for the best. Haha
Can't believe that this series was 5 years ago. I remember watching them for the first time 😭
is that Neil Patrick Harris
suave551 Yes
yes.
nice does he sings in this show
biznu bizzness Wow you're either really sarcastic or reeeeeeaaaaally dumb
No it's Count Omar
Sooo does anyone remember the movie of this that came out years ago?
Mr. Millennial
yeah
Mr. Millennial yes
Mr. Millennial yes back in elementary ahaha I thought it was amazing.
Mr. Millennial yeah, I remember the potential it had but that's about it...
i still have the dvd, good movie
No disrespect to Jim Carrey or Catherine O'Hara, but I honestly feel like this is the superior book-to-screen adaptation. Rather than shoehorning multiple books into one film, each book got two episodes each 40-something minutes so each book basically got a film length adaptation
And they did it right. The casting choices, while not always perfect, were tons of fun. The cinematography is cool and unique, excusing some rough CGI, but that's to be expected with Netflix. The music is great, the pacing is just right, every cutaway with Lemony is always a treat, and speaking of which, whoever cast Patrick Warburton and his gorgeous deep voice for the stoicly melancholic Lemony Snicket deserves all the raises. He is easily the best part of the show right up there with Neil Patrick Harris. You can tell NPH had so much fun playing every version of Count Olaf.
Ok why isn’t anyone who’s actually watched the season commented on Sunny’s attitude - tbh she could be my favourite character.
She's also my fave too. Also
WARNING: SPOILER AHEAD!
Olaf and Kit: (kiss)
Sunny: Yuck!
i'm ready
fancy seeing you here sara
;D
January on its way! 🙌
Fauda
Sara Dietschy hi
It's quite funny how so many people in the comments are judging a whole series based on a trailer.
Eiko Pumpkin I believe they're something that's called, "first impressions".
Kimchi
Not really. They're judging the acting and the show itself. First impressions come from what you see, like in a person, you don't start creating their whole personality on your own after only two minutes of meeting them.
If you watch this trailer, & watch the trailer from the original movie the original movie captured the essence of the books to a perfect degree. This appears to have alot of comedic undertone to it, that the books do not have. Granted the movie changed the storyline quite a bit, but at least it wasn't so....i am not sure how to put it. Off.
Rutyde Productions
That's with the information people have, but there are people here actually judging the show as if they have already watched it.
Thats how it is in the Mass Effect community right now too.
2024 here i will go back and watch this show till the day i die.💯 love this show❤
This reminds me a lot of those two 'Addams Family' movies from the early '90s...
same director, Barry Sonnenfield :))
me too
Joan Cusack is in this and she was in the second Addams Family movie
There were actually three. But, people only remember the first two. Mostly because they were vastly superior.
