I'm aware it's too late to suggest things for the week on, but i really hope at least once Mike gets the heavenly combo of a sausage roll and a cup of tomato soup to dip the sausage roll in!

If Mike was a professional food reviewer, all his reviews would be “nice”, “very nice” or “very, very nice” 😂
yet he is still more descriptive than Guy Fietti who says nothing other than its a trip to flavor town. Mike tells us its dry but nice.

I've started getting the greggs vegan sausage rolls lately (over the normal ones) - for some reason they just seemed to be better seasoned.

Had one the other day, won't be getting another one any time soon. Edible but not a sausage roll in the slightest. Not sure of the hype.

wondering if you wil include or will do a week on of Greg's from Iceland's to compare ?? The vegan rolls are best fresh ( slightly warm )as all you did be heating them was to dry then out even more
I found those vegan sausage rolls get rather dry when reheated in the oven, it's like they can't handle the reheating process, if you buy it from instore and eat it warm straight away, it's not too bad on dryness.
I love there baguettes in greggs, I practically do eat them daily lol.

Not a vegan, but I love the V saus rolls, fresh warm they are not dry, if I have one cold I just bang it in the microwave for 40 seconds it kind of steams it back to life🤣

You should eat the sausage roll with a cup of soup. It would make a complete meal and add moisture to these roll.

The price seems reasonable at least. Out of interest what's the damage in time and fuel for running out to get 2 or 3 meals a day? Glad you're enjoying the food.

Pretty much every other meat substitute I've tried has been absolutely disgusting, I'd rather just have actual vegetables, pulses etc. That being said, the Greggs vegan sausage rolls are surprisingly nice. Definitely on the dry side though, they benefit hugely from a tin of beans to go with them (which I would often do with a real sausage roll anyway).
It’s because it is. You can’t replicate meat - you can just sacrifice honesty and pretend. I don’t know why people want to waste their time with unnecessary diets. Is it some kind of pursuit of peak sanctimony? 🤷♂️

I've never eaten at Greggs. There has never been one on the way to work.
Greggs sell porridge, various salads and a vast range of sandwiches. Why choose the unhealthy option every time?

The vegan sausage rolls tasted 'too dry' because you put them in the oven.. When I ate meat, I tried both the meat and the vegan rolls and thought the vegan one was delicious, but then again, I didn't re-heat it in the oven ';D
Also yes! It's proven that vegan food fills you up more, because fruit and vegetables fills you up more than meat or dairy, as a lot of vegetables equal the same amount of calories as a small amount of meat!

When those vegan rolls were revealed i would not have thought sausage roll. My first thought was oversized mcds pie or a hot pocket breakfast version. To be fair im from america and i have never seen a sausage roll like mike j eats.
all the bacon will be the same, I work in the factory that cooks it for Greggs
I find the vegan sausage rolls tastier than the meat ones! When they are hot straight from Gregg's they don't seem too dry!!
I actually prefer the vegan sausage roll flavour to the normal.sausage roll
The vegan sausage roll was probably dry because it's been twice heated. They are much better fresh from the shop. I do think they are very salty though.

Hi Mike, always love watching the Week on videos. I'm sure these are all videoed and edited well in advance but if you can try this again you can go to Iceland and get a lot of the products to cook at home, might save you some hassle!
other youtubers have taste tested the frozen greggs vs bought from shop and found them lacking.
They're not really the same though, very close and i do like them but the store bought ones do just taste a little nicer, imho. Who know's maybe it's that thing when a sandwich made for you tastes better than one you make yourself or maybe they're actually different in the store. Either way i'm not sure it would really fit the spirit of a week on if Mike just bought a load of stuff in from a store and cooked it at home rather than going to the actual shop to buy it each day.

It's possible you're bloated from the vegan sausage rolls because some people react to the mycoprotein in Quorn (pretty sure they're Quorn). I had to stop eating Quorn for that reason.

Haha, right? I used to do a night shift and get a hot choc at Greggs afterwards so I could drink it on the bus ride home. They started prepping a cup for me as soon as I walked in and joined the queue 😂
He got all that food for just over 11 lb at Greg's you couldn't get one of those items for less than $11 at Panera. So yeah Greg's is obviously got good stuff for better price

Well there ya go! Second day of food and I've been proven wrong. There seems to be vegetable dishes to be had at Greggs. I know that eating food high in proteins will help you feel fuller longer, hence why it is recommended to have something like lentils, soy, nuts or beans when you have a vegan meal to feel more satisfied. I guess if you eat a lot of pastry, you might feel quite full too. ;) I'm a little sadden to hear that you couldn't really taste the sweet potatoes in those bhajis, since sweet potatoes are amongst my favourite vegetables. Curious to see more variety of products still to come.

I tried a vegan sausage roll before the taste was quite nice for me that made me throw it away was the texture of the "sausage" it just wasn't for me

It stuns me with how many of these he's done he hasn't figured out that volume of food isn't what fills you, there's a reason calory counting scientifically is proven to be the only damn thing

I want to be furious at this, but I was proven wrong when I begrudgingly had maple syrup and bacon on pancakes and loved it. And really is it any weirder than apple sauce with chops? Good for you mate. Fight the system!
