  • Rockwell Razor recently released the Model T2. This is version 2 of the original Model T. With an upgraded design this should prove to have less flaws than the Rockwell Razor Model T. This is my first time shaving with a Rockwell Razor. I am very pleased so far with what they have done with the Model T2. Safety razors are a great way to have an enjoyable shave and start off a successful day.

Yes I believe that you could own one razor but we are programmed with material needs. More is better and you NEED to have the best and newest thing.

Hey Greg! I might be a little late to the party but I ordered and used the T2(thanks to your suggestion), and you are right! It's amazings! Thank you for the review, and best wishes! Thanks. Joe.

15 years ago I bought my last Mach 3 cartridge and picked up a cheap $20 butterfly non name DE razor. I now use a brush and proper shaving soap. More important than anything else is that everything works quite well and I enjoy the process as much as the function.

Nice review! I like that you also pointed out the brand of blades you used for your shave. Important factor.

Great video. Wish I would have seen it before buying the 2C which is working more than fine for me. I don’t regret the purchase but would be nice to go between 1-3.

I could probably survive with one razor, but since I'm constantly trying to convince others of the pros of wet shaving I keep around 20 razors in various categories that I can show and lend to friends for trying out. BTW, watching this video made me aware of that I'm missing a Tech head. I've probably gifted it away. To save time, I just ordered a new TECH II from Razorock. For some newbies I think it's the best head to start with. As to the theme of the video, I own the Rockwell Model T and shaved with it today. I could easlily survive with that one. Don't miss the improvements of the T2 as I've never tried them.

Great review, I will be on vacation in Florida soon so I will have to look into getting me one of those bad boys ! I haven't used a DE safety razor since I was in the Army (was demobbed in 1990) so I'm just getting back into it. Like you say it's about the ritual and setting yourself up for the day, but I can't resist a new toy.

Honestly I have the 2C. Bought a bunch of others and regret it as I always go back to the same razor. It works for me. So yes you only need one.

Love the review! You are funny amigo. Great style and sense of humour. As to your all important question - I too am a fan of the three piece set-up. I have 2 R89s and 1 EJ89 which means three of the same thing really except for the different handles. They work for me regardless of whether my beard is heavier after 2 days or something less. On the adjustable front I have 2 Merkurs - the Progress and the Future - because for me (and it may just be in my head) I am less fond of butterfly door models. No vintage Gillette's for me. I just feel they hold the blade less well and you get more chatter. It's at the margin I know and YMMV. Again great review and you are seriously fun to watch. Thanks so much and have a great weekend!

Right now I use a RazoRock German 37 Slant Razor paired Shark Super Stainless blades. I use it for head shaves, and this combination has been absolutely magical since I first used the two together. I've had a few other razors but nothing worked quite as well as this. I shave my head 3-4 times a week, and this is the only combo that allows me to do so with no irritation.

Thanks for this glowing review of the Rockwell T2. I have the Rockwell 6S and I love it for a few reasons. The 6S can be a mild and efficient shaver. I need that for daily shaving and some de razors are too aggressive for my daily shave. The 6S has great lather channels which do not clog up. I ably want to shave with a clean razor and the 6S stays clean. The 6S has a grippy handle and looks good. Because I have a sensitive neck and a tough face, I need an adjustable that starts mild and goes to aggressive. I also like it when I get a good two pass shave so it should be efficient client with n all settings. I have shaved with the Rex Ambassador but only on settings 1 & 2 because it is aggressive. I have also shaved with the Tatara Muramasa on all settings and it is great for me. I use the entire range of adjustment on it for a tree pass perfect shave but I am usually satisfied with two passes. However, because of how the lather channels are designed, I sometimes get some clogging in the middle.

Hi Greg. I bought the T2 in gunmetal. You're review helped me decide. I shaved with it last night. It is great. It was what I wanted in a safety razor. My first was a cheap £10 weishi off Amazon which I bought a couple of years ago as I thought it would be a good backup to be able to use the old shave blades I had bought for a backshaver. I remembered my Dad using a butterfly safety razor years ago and had thought they were old school outdated technology. I used disposable Gillette Mach 2 - 5 blades over the years. I am now delighted to be using the old new ageless technology of the DE safety razors. I used my Rockwell, in the shower, without a mirror, as I did with my Gillette's. I was able to get a completely smooth shave with not one cut or nick. I am delighted. I also told my wife and daughters they could use it as it can be as mild as they like. Cheers Greg. I enjoy watching you're reviews. PS the underside of your bathroom sink tap could do with a clean👍

The astra blade recommendation is a good one. I am still looking for “my” blade but I have tried the Rockwell blades and do not care for them. Not my least favorite but definitely not my favorite.

I know this video was posted almost a year ago. But I just came across it. The razor of choice for me would be the Rocnel Sailor sold by Bullgoose shaving. If one razor could do it all I’d recommend the Rocnel hands down. But I’ve become addicted to wet shaving so now I have a boat load of different razors 🤷‍♂️ I just bought the rose gold version of the T2. Looking forward to using it.
