Vilgax not having control over the omnitrix in Alien force feels like its a problem relating to the watch being so different after it recalibrated. Especially since ben had put failsafes on it
That's what I think is true, too. But one thing I really liked about Classic Vilgax is that he knew so much about the Omnitrix, so it was sad to see that lost.

It's strange he was able to detransform Azmuth but couldn't figure out a GUI change that took Ben 30 second, and random kids in a park holding a hand, not knowing anything about it, an instant to figure out.

The watch was taken out rather easily and all Vilgax had to do was: press any of the 4 giant buttons it had, or just move the dial. It's not that hard to figure out
At least for some of these situations, reverting to the user's original form could in itself be considered a failsafe, as a way to prevent the omnitrix from being overloaded or damaged

That theory works. But if we operate on how the omnitrix is meant to protect Ben then it doesn't make sense. I think they might hav said something like that in omniverse but idk. Don't really rmmber
Sometimes protecting bens like as well by removing the infected data, feedback, waybig and swampfires losts being the big example imagine if those affects hit the full playlists
@@piusdoe8984 I think it still can totally make sense. The omnitrix can't protect Ben if its damaged or destroyed, it's better to do a quick reset and then allow him to use it again (especially since we see Ben re-transforming in less than a second in Omniverse).

I think it goes with the theory that the Omnitrix is connected to Ben's (the welder) conscious somehow, so when he passes out or is being weaken, the Omnitrix cannot be connected with him so he changes back to normal form
And when he gets the wrong alien he deep down knows who's the right one for the mission so the watch gives him just that even who he didn't select it
But who knows

To UAF Vilgax's credit, the Omnitrix did totally recalibrate. It likely changed all of its functions and code sequences and stuff.

I will not point out how some kids who found Ben's hand figured it out instantly, but instead, I will point out how some non sentient aliens from the null void managed to figure it out. Vilgax is dumber than they are... It's like that scene in Portal 2 where GLaDOS tries to use a paradox on Wheatley in order to destroy him, but he's too much of a moron to understand a paradox, but his mechanical abominations, the turret boxes got destroyed meaning those are smarter than him. 💀

I personally like the headcanon that the Omnitrix's energy is tied to Ben's stamina, since technically speaking, it should be fused with his biology. I just vibe with the idea that Ben changes back if he gets injured enough, being knocked unconscious for example. But then again, plot convince

Original series Vilgax felt so threatening bc the watch was so foreign so turning Ben back was crazy and at the time we didn’t know it could ever come off. But vilgax with the knowledge he had felt like he could really take it from Ben. The trope became over done for sure

I still cant figure out why even azmuth called it the Ultimatrix while he hates the evolutionary function. Because if only Albedo installed it, why would azmuth call it ultimatrix in the first place?
I think ‘Ultimatrix’ was just the running title for the completed Omnitrix’s core.

What I think a lot of people overlook is that the omnitrix has dozens of failsafes to protect Ben, but almost none to protect itself.

Ben's been hurt several times and he's even died.
he was sore after fighting the DNAliens as Swamp fire for the first time, he got a black eye after getting hit in the face by a Highbreed as Swampfire, after he was shot by Nesmith as Clockwork his heart stopped, in Omniverse when Upgrade crashed into the ground Ben had a limp, and Charmcaster ripped his soul out of his body.
Heck we see several times that the Omnitrix doesn't protect you from sickness, and there's even an alternate universe Ben who was killed by a Zombie Plague.

My guess is that for the most part asmuth figured out ben learns better by doing and takes that approch unless he needs help. In times where he does need help and askes asmuth he has gotten help, like with the lifeform lock or (likely) a setting to allow for prolonged and lengthy transformations which asmuth likely disabled due to ben being unable and unwilling to change back on his own.
That does bring up a question though. Is bens omnitrix in omniverse his final version? Not talking about the one ben 10000 has but asmuth does seem like he is taking into account that ben is still young so perhaps he has plans in the future that has yet to come to pass that a new omnitrix will be given to ben when he is "old enough" with proper intructions on how to use it 100%. I mean think about it. I dont think asmuth would give ben the full control untill ben is fully mature and unlikely to mess himself up. Who knows maby the final plan for ben is for him to be someone who can transform into any being in any state to help anywhere. In toher words a man (galvin) made god

in omniverse the omnitrix should have had safe guards that prevented others absorbing alien DNA like skurd and kevin did and preventing people from turning ben back to human

I don't know why people complain about vilgax not knowing how to use it in primus its not a plot hole it's a different watch it recalibrated at the start of alien force and changed all the controls and ben had to learn how to use it again. Vilgax was a master at the classic watch not the new one.
I mean It's just touching to little switches next to the dial literal kids activated that watch in single handed and then in pretty much the same episode random null void beasts activated it. Like it just makes me think Vilgax is dumb.
