If you have to find the final velocities of each body you can do some tinkering with equations of both Law of conservation of K.E and Law of conservation of momenta and you'll be able to develop these: V1 = ((m1-m2)/(m1+m2))U1 + ((2m2)/(m1+m2))U2 V2 = ((2m1)/(m1+m2))U1 + ((m2-m1)/(m1+m2))U2 V1 is the velocity of m1 after collision and V2 is velocity of m2 after collision.
