Bruh ofc he does, I deadass 1v2d my plat/ gold friends with no boost and won coz I’ve played way more then. Flakes have played so much that he deadass is in almost no threat atm
Just proves that it really is that easy to rank up. Most of us play outside of what we're comfortable and/or consistent with. He shows that if we just chill tf out and play the game properly, it isn't as hard as it seems.
The "I want to see you do it in champ" was me. Not because I doubted that it was possible. I just wanted to see how to do it against other players like me.
Hey flakes any chance u could make video on a training routine that could help focus on the basic mechanics as I feel rocket league intelligence is easy to gain when watching videos but mechanics take longer to master
@@dylanhopkins5743 A lot of mechanical improvement comes from putting in a lot of hours, it's sort of hard to define a good all around training regiment because different things work for different people.
Honestly go into freeplay and just pretend there’s a defender and try utilising what he does in the video. No joke all these mechanics a Plat can easily do if they put their mind to it.
@@nicobrunetti3381 Yh I get u I’d say I’ve got a decent training routine that’s well rounded and covers most basic mechanics but I’m just gradually progressing
can't wait for this series to reach SSL and get one for 2s and 3s. this content is underrated. Why are the views so little? This is literally teaching you how to be better at the game without having to go thru hours and hours of training for better mechanics
I love this series because it shows the progression of the most basic aspect of the game (the outplay) in each rank. It's probably the only RL series I'd binge watch like Netflix. Except I have to wait for the episodes to come out... UGH srsly tho flakes pls never stop making this series iz rly gud kthxbai
Yea I took over a month off from playing rocket league but kept watching pro videos, RLCS, 1v1 showmatches etc. When I came back I was like wtf? Are we in gold? But actually champ 3 XD I feel like I'm so bad and everyone around me is so bad, but before I took that break I felt like a beast hahaha
Flakes, you should consider making a training pack with many of your smart touches... for example, the ball rolls slightly up the wall and you sideflip it higher, or you cut under and pop for another ball into the goal, one for power slide cuts, etc. You could even make a video to supplement/demonstrate (it'd be a hit, no crappy pun intended). Anyway, awesome stuff... This is educational and hilarious.
I just watched your 1v1 tournament games and you’re fucking beast!! Literally the same thing you’re teaching here, but just faster and with your actual level of mechanics. I was over here wondering if this would work in champ and lowe and behold it works on pros.
A lot of your daily twitch fans have been watching jack since u stream less.. I speak for a bunch of us when I say we want to watch you 1v1 him… we’ve seen you beat Khalid.. you’re a world class 1v1 player.. it would be great content
I REMEMBER the first time I saw these. I thought, hey that looks so easy, maybe I can rank up from plat1 to diamond fast... Worst supposition of my life. You can't learn that perfect timing in 2 days. Years of practice and consistency is what u really need
A guy told me to check you out I am gc1-2 and since yesterday I love ur videos, he beat me one game playing like you and I involve a lot of mechanics, but next game I learned my mistakes and beat him with a lot of air dribble bump goals.
*The Flakes Challenge:* _Prove the "babies" wrong, unbind Power-slide, Break/Reverse, collect only the small pads and increase your stick sensitivity by 50%. This should screw with your attuned PRO muscle memory enough that this would actual be like playing with no mechanics, reliant almost entirely on game-sense._
This is so stupid good, but you have to have the car control and game sense to do it. I have seen many people trying this against me, but they don't have NEARLY the control Flakes does so it isn't nearly as effective (plus they are so predictable, whereas Flakes is not). I am LOVING this series and working to implement more of this playstyle into my own game. I can tell you that when I do, it seems to be VERY tilting for the other player. Edit: implementing this strategy has helped me deal SO MUCH BETTER with super ball chasers. I would lose 9/10 games against super hard chasers until I started implementing this style of play and now I win 7/10. Also, how do we get coaching from you?
I wonder if there's a simple routine like "left, right, fake left, fake left, left" that works often enough so that you rank up without doing anything else (besides shadow defense). I'm fairly certain it works.
@@omgvague Honestly, keeping track of the exact number of fakes before a shot isn't exactly something you would do if you didn't specifically expect a deliberate pattern, especially not one that has like 5 steps. Recognizing such a long pattern in the course of just a few minutes with everything else going on? Not so easy.
crazy to see how the game evolved in 3 years. the dude said a c2 1v1 player cant kuxir pinch. nowadays the people are double flip resetting in diamond 1v1.
I'm champ 3 in 1's right now and I tried this style of play again and it still works better than ever. I was dismantling people. People are just too impatient and the threat of hitting it around them with the powerslide cut means they literally can't challenge at any point without getting outplayed. Also, even though this video is old, people still aren't used to playing this slowly and playing against people who play like this so they look significantly worse than they really are, and that's as true now as it was then.
@@matthanlon5803 What's you discord or epic ID? I for sure want to see it! I'm struggling to get into c1 in 1's right now, I think I go for flicks too much. I mainly just ground dribble and go for fast 45 degree flicks or just pop it over them if they challenge. But I'm not super consistent with the power or accuracy of my flicks yet.

Yeah, not surprised. Learning mechanics is easier and take less time than learning perfect timing and positioning. This series is entertaining, but it's a big lie.
@@booli8542 I disagree, this is a lot simpler to learn. It's just a matter of paying attention and putting some thought into your actions. It's not something you can pull off instantly, but neither are mechanics. The thing is, with this you only need to learn like 3 different things, instead of the dozens of different mechanics there are. That said, I think it's pretty normal to go down a few divisions at first, this is the kind of thing where being ingame is the best way to practice, and you're gonna suck at first.
