- I'm all done my appliqued 'Spring Snowflakes' quilt! And a sweet granddaughter in her new dress that I made her:)
Join me for Truelove Family stories (which I have many, as a mother of 10 kids), Mothering Autism, with our Maxwell on our many fun car rides, and Free quilting class and sewing lessons! And as in a 'classroom' setting, my tutorials are approximately 1/2 hour+ long....So Join me in my home sewing room, out and about and trying to make all sorts of quilted goodies! Be aware ~ I like to chat and probably repeat myself over and over, (and stutter sometimes), and if this annoys you, then view elsewhere - but, if patient, you hopefully will learn a new method or technique and get an insight into a very large family and their crazy fun:)
And as always: Love From The Trueloves;)
The snowflake quilt is a first prize! So much detailed work put into this beautiful quilt.
thanks!!
The snowflake quilt is beautiful and your granddaughter is so adorable in her new dress.
Aw thanks so much Joanne:)
Finished snowflake quilt is just amazing!!!
Thanks Peggy:)
Lovely snowflake quilt....the back is as beautiful as the front. And lovely young Cosette and her pretty twirling dress.....I remember when both my daughters loved to twirl.....can it really be more than 30 years ago? What a perfect Cosette dress you sewed....the memories she will make ....and the memories she will have of her Nana sewing what she designed. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much! I remember like it was yesterday, making twirly dresses for our daughter Melea. She will be 30 in August!!! YIKES!! Next generation!!!
That is exactly what I've would have done on the miter corner hand sewed them.
Your snowflake quilt is looking awesome.
Cosette looks fabulous in the dress you made for her from her drawing...well done
Oh, by the way your husband looks so handsome with the goatee.
Thanks Terrie:) I usually do my curved corners but PEER pressure!! LOL LOL! But I do know the Quilt Judges like to see nice square corners so hence, the sort of crummy corners!!! LOL!
Lovely snowflakes ❄️ and such a sweetheart twirling in her fantastic dress 👗💕
thanks so much! Cosette is such a sweetheart!!
What a delight to the eyes! It's wonderful! Thanks for sharing the adorable pics of your grands! 😍🫠
Aw thanks Tara:)
I love your snowflakes quilt! The white on white snowflakes are quite striking. Adding a tiny bit of color brought out the color on the front of the quilt. Your granddaughter with her dress! Oh my, I remember my girls with their new dresses, and having to pass the twirl test. You did make it just like her picture! I'm not sure who had the biggest smile, you or your granddaughter! Nothing like bringing a little one's dream come true. I miss those days. I did see your beautiful bowl. It fits right in with your sewing room. Now it's filling you with what brings sustenance to your life 😊❤
Thanks Sharon:) My lovely bowl:) Where I can see it every day:)

Aw thanks Desley:) We count our many blessings:)
Jean, your snowflake quilt is definitely a work of art! Your quilt as you go blocks made a pretty back, too! I remember twirling like your granddaughter! You did a remarkable job copying her drawing! She might be a future designer!
I thought that! Such a clever little sweetheart!! Thanks so much:)
Your snowflake quilt is absolutely spectacular! Cosette and her dress are gorgeous.
Thank you so much!
Your snowflake quilt is amazing the rick rack in the pastel and bold just added that little extra to pull everything together. Your granddaughters dress is lovely she will enjoy for a while.
Thanks Regina:) She just loved her dress:)
Wow, Jean your granddaughter looks so cute in her dress you made. Fantastic colour, design and fabric congratulations.
Then there’s your Snowflake quilt is so pretty,, white and blue is always magical, I really hope they put into their Quilt Snow. .
I had to smile when you ask Ian for his help, I always ask my hubby to give me his thoughts on my colour choices, or my binding picks. Thanks Jen and yes keep smiling your beautiful smile. 👍❤️🙂
Thanks Carmen:) She was so happy:)
Jean your quilt turned out amazing!!! And Cosette's dress is beautiful also. It's so lovely to see her twirling around, cos that's what little girls do isn't it xxx
I remember have just one twirly dress when I was little. I was the youngest of 6, having 5 older brothers, and we lived in the deep woods in the country. Not so much time for twirling! But I DO remember the sensation!! LOL!
As always your quilt is lovely. Your granddaughter precious in her new dress, what a wonderful grandma you are.❤. It is 100* here in Va. with humidity at 105! Love to the Trueloves.
Yes, it is like an OVEN out there!! Thanks Karena! Stay cool!!

She must be so happy twirling around for us all to admire. I have a feeling that you may be getting some more requests 😊. Love to all the Trueloves 🏴

Gotta love my BOWL!!! LOL! Thanks Rebecca:)

Thanks Shannon! The heat!! Certainly not porch sitting weather, YET!!! Hopefully!!
I love your quilt! I do hope that it is accepted into the show! It is so beautiful!
I hope so too!
Hi Jean! Your quilt is gorgeous! So is the dress!
Thank you so much!
That dress is so sweet . She seems to love it! Your quilt came out great! Good luck with the show❤️👏🏼
Thank you! 😊
It’s really pretty it’s a winner in my eyes and your granddaughters is so beautiful and suits the colour ❤
Thank you so much:)
Gosh I don't know where you get your energy from Jean. My daughter has 3 children who are all autistic and though the older two are quite self sufficient the little 4yr old runs me ragged!!! A non-stop ball of energy A morning looking after him is such a joy but boy do I need a Grandma nap when I get home.
Oh I don't know if it is 'energy' as much as it is 'adrenaline'!! I think I used up a lot of energy raising our family and NOW I am very careful not to overdo things! I do find sewing extremely relaxing (as opposed to raising kids)!!! LOL! LOL! But I too, need a much needed nap after watching little ones nowadays!!
I want to once again thank you for sharing your creativity, talents, knowledge, experience in all its glorious humanity-um, warts and all. I really enjoy watching your videos and it’s a treat to see Ian pop-in-how he’s not only genuinely supportive, but invested in supporting the things that you love to do.
Your snowflake quilt/wallhanging, is stunning, amazing, and unique-I understand how as it’s talented and amazing creator you see the wee areas of things that you consider to be less than perfect, however those things that stick out like a sore thumb to you are overlooked by most people who are so busy marveling at its beauty.
The dress is marvelous and stunning as well-I am blessed at all the attention you paid when making it as to “light up” your granddaughter’s world. And from the looks of the photos she treasures it already ❣️
Thanks Joanna:) You are very kind:) And yes, I am blessed to have a very supportive family:)
@@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory you’re very welcome ❣️
@@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory last fall I followed your, “10 minute” table runner tutorial to make 12 of those type of table runners, however from start to finish it took me more like 1 1/2 hours a piece, seriously it took me 30 minutes a piece to do all of the top stitching 🫣🙄😆🤣 Of course using directional fabric for a bunch of them probably didn’t help, either 🫣🙄😝🤣
Hello Jean, oh.....didn't Ian get a kiss?? He is always so patient and accommodating. Jean, Cossette is such a natural twirly girl. I love her dress, and you are right, her 👗 suits her blonde hair. The snowflake quilt is lovely, the rick rack makes the pastel color binding pops. I am glad you entering it to the quilt show. Excellent work as always Jean. Best wishes and blessing to everyone in the Trueloves family. Thelma ❤❤
Don't worry, Ian got a kiss later:) LOL! Thanks Thelma:)
Absolutely stunning. Love rick rack.
Thanks! Gotta love my rick rack! :)
What a fabulous idea to use a beautiful fabric for the hanging sleeve. I think this will be copied many, many times. The muslin sleeves are not pretty but this one takes the quilt to a higher level of perfection. Love it and if I ever get to the point of creating a quilt worthy of hanging on a wall this is what I intend to do. Thanks Jean, for all your wonderful videos that helped me in my sewing journey.
Thank you so much Peggy:) I too thought, "why not have a PRETTY hanging sleeve instead of a utilitarian one?"
The snowflake quilt is so beautiful, and fingers cross they will let it in the show.
Think you needed to send the weather over to the UK it's just rain and cold.
From D UK 🇬🇧
Yes, I've seen the UK weather....boy oh boy!! It's brutal here though. TOO hot! And we are USED to the heat, but this weather is shockingly oppressive
Your quilt is so pretty. It’s a winner even if it’s not chosen for the quilt show. But I hope it is. Your sweet granddaughter twirling is so fun to see. Hand stitching is relaxing for me but I know it’s not for everyone. Stay cool my sister. Keep quilting on. ❤❤
Thanks Cheryl:) It's funny, I LOVE to embroider pretty stuff, but run of the mill hand stitching really annoys me!!! LOL! LOL! I'll send you my next projects!!!
The bowl looks great in your sewing room and now you get to see it every day! 😁
I think Cosette might be a designer one day; and like her grandma, she likes rick rack!
Great job finishing the quilt! Hope they both get accepted into the quilt show!
I just love my bowl:) And it has pride of place in my sewing room!! :)
Your Snowflake Quilt is really amazing❤
Thank you so much:)
Such a beautiful quilt ❤
Thank you so much:)
Hi Jean! That fabric drapes perfect for twirling!!! So pretty 😍😍 The quilt came out just gorgeous. I do my binding that way, too-from the back to the front. I will have to keep the rick rack in mind for a future quilt!!
Thanks Marla:) The rick rack on this quilt was a pain because of the stupid mitered square corners. Usually my rounded corners is easy to insert the rick rack into.
Wow! Looks so amazing. I am making home made bread with everything bagel on it and smells so good baking. Thank you Jean. Did you ever do crewel embroidery, Jean?
Yuuummmmmmm!!!! I can smell if from here!! I love to do Crewel! Have done dozens of projects:)
@@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory How is it different from embroidery, Jean?
Love your quilting ta da😊
Love my TaDa's!! Finished!! Thanks Delwyn:)
I hope your quilt is chosen to go into the show.
Thank you so much:) I hope so too:)
Beautiful quilt never mind the judges very hot here 27 degrees Celsius for us that is hot lol love the dress gorgeous love to everyone
Oh the heat! It is like an oven out there!! Stay cool Beverley!!
Beautiful as always, although I don’t know if I would have placed rick-rack on it, it seems to always curl up. Although yours looks beautiful and it is a wall hanging. The back may be more beautiful than the front!! You do such fantastic work. Saw a movie on “Hallmark” over the weekend and they said there were 35 different snowflake designs. I don’t know how they knew that but I think you got them all😉.
The dress you made for Cosette looks exactly like her drawing, she will keep it forever!❤
Aw thanks so much:) Cosette was so thrilled with her dress, which made me double thrilled:)
That blue snowflake ❄ fabric is perfect for this quilt
Blue Ribbon winner.
You do like hand sewing (embroidery) just not the mundane straight stitching 😅
Nevertheless you do fantastic quilts.
Yes, I LOVE the pretty stuff, not the boring stuff!!! LOL! Thanks Paula:)
@@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory Your welcome Jean , just sharing the truth !!
The quilt is beautiful as is everything you do, but I have to use a thimble. I can’t sew without one.
Oh I tried a thimble...more trouble for me!! LOL!
Dear Jean your quilt looks wonderful ❤
Maybe facing your quilt would have been a option
Yes, maybe you are right!! But it's too late now!!! LOL! LOL! Thanks so much:)
Oh Jean I seen you had that rick rack around your table I would have taken that off there so you may have has enough ...Love your quilt looks way to hard for me
I had many packages of rick rack but all had been used a bit and I didn't have enough of one pattern to work.
Jean it's so pretty .I hope you get accepted .you deserve it .your so talented . I learn alot from you I've watched you for years.how did you do the plain blocks IS IT FREE MOTION? thanks for your videos .keep doing them
Thank you so much! Yes, I free motion quilted all the designs on the blocks:)
The dress and quilt are so beautiful! What is the white fabric with partial snowflakes on the borders? I don't remember that fabric. Is the silver embossed on the fabric? Is it just white sparkle fabric and you free-motioned snowflakes?
Yes, the white fabric has a metallic sheen/finish in parts. The majority of fabrics in this quilt are from Michael Miller Fairy Frost line, and I think the white is called Fairy Frost Glitter.
I saw your bowl behind you, Jean, within seconds of video starting! Is there a reason you didn't put your signature curved corners on this quilt?
My bowl!!! LOL! I know for a fact that quilt judges PREFER to see a squared off mitered corner on show quilts. Hence my attempt at same. I DO WISH I had stuck with my easy curved corners!!!
@@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory good to know. Thx!
My grand daughter number 1 has asked me to make her a big girl quilt....( she loves her cot quilt ) .. what colour would you like?? Purple red and black..... she is apparently an 8 year old goth! Just got some Tula Pink fabric.... Cosette looks lovely she is lucky to have a skilled nanna.
The Tula Pink fabric is just what the doctor ordered ~ those colors!!! :) All the best! Thanks so much for your kind words:)
