Definitely bringing my non ferrous stuff with me at the end of October on my way to the Gold fields for a detecting trip, I've got some boards I should bring to you too Ben. The poor ute will be stuffed full but I can't be bothered towing a trailer around for a week or so afterwards.
My brother does the same thing and I tell him thr same thing the secret treasure its why it would be hard for me to be a scrapper cause it's worth more then the material
Whenever there is a war, as is currently the case in Ukraine, large quantities of copper and brass are needed for ammunition production. That is why the price of these metals is so enormously high. In the case of steel, this is limited as armored steel increases only slightly due to the slow production. Steel for cars has been decreasing for years because they now consist of an enormous amount of plastic. However, the price of aluminum would have to rise over the years because it is essential for the production of electric cars. Kind regards from Germany from Werner Dipl. Ing. Rheinmetall Def.
You are probably aware of this. But if you see newer stuff (2015 and older i would say) that says Cisco on it i would look at the price online. As brand new Cisco switches can go for 50-60k on the high end.
Do you top off your batteries with water for the extra weight? Almost all have an access covered by a sticker or plug and most srop working because they are low. Id top them and get another 10lbs
thats alot of work as the plugs from the wires of the power supplies would also have to be removed, time stripping stuff so it can be sold is more of a resource in the scrapping game than finding stuff to scrap
Ben, does your scrapyard really need the cable attached to powersupply? I know your boardbuyer didnt wanted the cables being removed but I doubt the scrapyard requires it? Or is it just you dont want to remove them.
How the hell is a power supply considered irony aluminum? In the states they are just junk steel or some places buy them as what they are. Power supply
I make better money breaking down the power source than selling them whole. When I worked at a scrap yard, one of my jobs was breaking down computers. Is any of the wire strippable? Where do you get all those computers? Computers are one of those items where the pieces are worth more than the whole. I love batteries. There is nothing to do but bring them in. That is a huge scrap yard. Really enjoyed the video.
I wish I could sell e-waste here in Indiana, but can only drop it off at a place that takes it for nothing, and then they make money off it. I was starting to take apart some servers and stuff but it takes so long, it takes an hour just to make $7 of aluminum so I'm not gonna mess with it, There are a ton of brass connectors though that I'm gonna try to cut off, They almost look like large earphone jacks in a way
Wow. We get screwed in Brisbane. Just scrapped 2400kg of batteries and best I could get was 55c. One place quoted 30c. Even heavy steel is only $250/tonne. Your 69c for batteries would have got me another $330.
how do you come by all of your e-waste computers? you can let me know privately if you want I'm just curious because I scrap a lot of e-waste televisions mostly flat panels
I adore the scrapyard, along with the beach it is one of my favourite places to be! I was just imagining that copper as a giant ingot, my god, yum!!!🧡 I know this video is a few months old now but a couple of lovely payouts, so convenient the yard being so close 👍
In the second drop off you had a Mac case in the van that was the same as the one you scrapped as irony-ally. And it looks like you snipped the video to unload it into the dumpster. What's the story there?
Loving the mk1 vito still doing sterling service, the vast majority of vitos of that generation in the uk have rusted to unviable repair bar a few survivors 👍
Probably because of road salts we don't really have them anywhere in Australia so unless you live like RIGHT on the coast our cars tend to rust mush less
Those computer cases were intact. Imagine all the copper and gold you threw away with all that steel. I know, I know, it's a pain in the ass to recover. But still.
My local scrap yard here in Brisbane take the wire with plug on and Xmas lights. No transformer. $3.20 a kg. I went to other yard and they prices were $1 to $4. I ask them different grades, they said it was to hard to explain.but battery were $.60 a kg where mine $0.34. Irony alley $0.20 a kg. Metal $0.07 I forgot to ask at the other place. But few battery to drop off next time I driving pass. Cheers Graham
Those scrap prices in Australia are far better than what we get here in western Canada, even with your environmental tax, I just phoned for No.1 copper price and it's only 4.00 a pound Canadian. I live in a city of about 1 million. The majority (80%) of our Canadian copper gets shipped to the US so they're getting one hell of a bargain and it would be advisable to keep any copper people might have until copper gets revalued. Eventually that will happen because 80% of silver and gold comes from copper mining as a byproduct.
Wow! Here in the state of Virginia (U.S.A.) I've been getting $2.80/lb for #1 copper and $2.60/lb for #2 for at least the last year, possibly longer. Glad someone in the scrapping world is getting higher prices.
Your scrap prices are 10 - 20% higher than here in Czech republic, central Europe. It got lot lower from around 6 moths back.... Good to see prices in Australia to compare...

I would absolutely go insane if the scrap prices in America were this good. Wow!, good for you Ben.
Australian dollars are a lot different than USD
Dog shit here in England to
1-Australian Dollar = 0.64 US Dollar cent, so 10-Autralians dollar = 6.40 US.
And what about 100 Australian dollars then?@@metalost6016
Doesn't matter how many times I go to scrap yards, I still love going to scrap yards.
So much fun! Love scrap metal in general!
i saw your comment, then i saw one of your videos in my watch next section, i had to do a double take to see if it actually was you. love the vids!
Excellent, love these packed van emptying sessions…. It’s a game of guess the weight 😂
Great to watch, thanks Ben 👍
Wow Ben you are getting some fantastic prices on all your scrap this was a great video thank you for sharing this with us six stars brother
In California we get more for stripping the plastic off the wire.

Tin plated copper, sell as #2 copper
great blog mate Gary from Crewe England 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Why don't you move your car next to the bin when you upload it from the front doors? Or put the bin somehow to have access from both parts.
I love how he had a caveman brain moment when he saw the copper bail pallet. I would have touched it too. 18:42
bro do a recheck hard drive can go to gold recovery I get $280 a kg mother bord $4.00 a kg
I hope you mean 2.80 not 280 mate, I will ship you a couple tons of them to weigh in 😂
what about the gold recovery from the PC boards?

I bought a storage and have semiconductor sensors. I have no use for them. Any idea where I can sell these?
Prices have gone up
Can you make another scrap marathon video where you scrap motherboards and other stuff too ???
Would you have gotten more if you micro scrapped it?
Why dont you cut the wire from the powersupply so you get more insulated coppar wire
thats alot of work as the plugs from the wires of the power supplies would also have to be removed, time stripping stuff so it can be sold is more of a resource in the scrapping game than finding stuff to scrap

You don't get extra for hard drive boards separately?
I’m an electrical and electronics engineering student who’s also simultaneously studying electrical installations, seeing all of this makes me drool

Great video kaibigan
Aqui eu ganharia muito dinheiro se vendesse tudo que vc vendeu ai desmontado
Being unexperienced, I might have expected the batteries to be worth more.
Still, a perfect reason to reduce / reuse / recycle ♻️
Ram DDR2/3 they quotating 55$ is it worth?
The giant block of copper is crazy
what is irony ally?
Aluminium with Iron

Its quite some work to edit and render such a video. Recording is one thing, you got to listen it all back.
Yeah, with all he has to do he would never get caught up.
