Something that always comes out in your videos is that Levi is a worker. I’m sure it is a solid trait that rings true in your entire family but since Levi is a part of your day-to-day operation you just can’t help but see his strong work ethic. Every once in a while you mention Eva’s boyfriend working down at the wood yard. It would be nice to have his introduction. Thanks for sharing today’s video.

What a big difference in temps!! When will you ever have time to just sit in that swing and not have a project to get to? I think one day when all is done, Levi's family and Hunter, maybe one of the girls come, just to spend a long weekend. Ride the side by side, go canoeing, and have a cookout. Now that would make a fantastic video! Your field is looking greener. The deer thank you. Yellow and black, no idea. There's always great stuff to look forward to on your channel. I did some price checking at Midsouth and Midway last night. Loaded ammo is higher, but reload components are still sort of reasonable. Brass is the highest cost. Powder is double pre covid. I will continue loading my own. Im retired, not healthy. Projects done at my loading bench is perfect. May 17, pneumonia. At hospital they diagnosed me w Afib. Here we go. Test and more tests, xrays, new meds, blood thinner, oh boy!! I do so enjoy watching your projects, really helps my attitude. Thanks Mike. As always, i can't wait for your next post!!👍🚜❤️🙏🇺🇲🇺🇲

    Mike,
For a guy who is time conscience, your idea to hand sand your lumber for the cabin in W.V with an orbital sander...is to say the least going to take you a lot of time...I suggested you go to a cabinet or architectural shop and have them sand your wood...after thinking about it, that would not be a good idea...after loading, hauling, unloading, reloading, hauling and off loading...way to much of a waste of time. The only thing I can suggest is buying a 18" drum sander...then use it and when your finished, sell it if it's not needed. Grizzly makes a 18" 1-1/2 HP Open-End Drum Sander w/ VS Feed for $995.00..Good Luck and if you still are heart set on hand sanding with an orbital sander...Happy Sanding!

Good Afternoon Mike! As a formor Mill foreman in my younger days, your attention to detail "sticking lumber" is spot on and extremely important to get quality straight, uniform boards. Do yourself a favor, put some "off fall" or waste boards on stickers on top of your last layer on the stickered pile as cover boards to prevent cupping and especially "sun checking" of your top boards. When you add to the stack, throw the cover boards aside and add to the stack then re-use the cover boards again. As always another Great video !! ENJOY YOUR DAY!!👍

I straightened up places on the 4 acres I keep maintained with a 60" woods tiller. and loader The other use I have and didn't know is how many things I pick up and move with it! Mike, if you think an orbital sander is going to affect that lumber the way you want, best to try it at home 1st. One trip thru a dewalt planner and edger is what you need. That red pine makes for some quality lumber. Was a time when a man could sell his lumber products to local General Store. Was quite a few sawyers in my county when I was a kid. I can name 5 withing 5 sq miles of me, all long gone now. They ran the big blades powered by large diesel engines many times more powerful than required. Love your little Wild Wonderful Mtn get away.

Hi Mike. That the most biggest locust tree! I ever seen! 😮😮😮😳😳😳🥰🥰🥰😊😊😊👍👍👍 The biggest locust tree in Vermont & Upstate N.Y is 42 inches wide. They're live too. These trees are very straight. Beautiful trees too. Your in-law's tree is got to be 6 feet wide! That's amazing! Normally. Vermont's biggest trees are sugar maple, maple, & red oak. 4 to 5 feet wide. Some has wind damaged branches. Me & my brother at that time. We used pick up those damaged limbs for firewood. Completely dry wood. If they were " green." We take the limbs off. Then cut them 4 feet long for future firewood. 95% of trees are dry & dead. Apple tree are very difficult to "read." The new growth travels over the " dry limbs." I tackled 30 inch pear tree. It wood smoke was like " elm." Smells like " fresh leather." Those were the days. The locust trunk would make wonderful lumber. It's wonderful firewood. It leaves beautiful red coals. We cutting 4 to 5 inch dead locust trees. I dislike split locust fencing. ( It's a "novelty fencing" in Vermont & Upstate N.Y. 🤔🙄😬🤨😐😑😔) It's a waste of hardwood trees for fencing to me. Levi is great. He should be called T.H.E. Levi. ( The Hardwood Expert.) 😆😆😆😁😁😁🥰🥰🥰😊😊😊 It sounds like your cabin is in higher elevation? We had an apartment in a elevated area. It will be 90 in our city of Bennington, Vermont. We'll be 75 in our elevated area. We were 20 mins north of Bennington. This was back in the summer of 1981. Then we moved 3 places & found a house on an elevated area in July/1986. It was hot, hazy, & humid summer there.😅😅😅😅 We lived for 25 yrs. The house was Upstate N.Y. The dirt road was West Shaftsbury aka North Bennington, Vt. ( There was no post office in West Shaftsbury. It in North Bennington. Which was 10 mins away.) The Vermonters refers our dirt road as: "The Plateau." Your red pine lumber will dry very well there. Well. Say Hi to Melissa, Eva, & Hunter. Have a good Saturday everyone. 🥰😊😉👍❤️💜🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🌲🌳

What a magnificent tree. We have one of those in the back yard. I hope it stays healthy as it provides a good bit of shade for the back yard . That little green machine moves well … time for another machine Mike ? lol.

Bless those Linemen for all they do to keep modern society running by keeping the juice on. Here in the PNW, it's typically nasty, wet, cold and windy when the lines go down and they head out and up onto the power poles to fix what nature brought down.

Interesting watching the porch swing sequences while I was watching it on my porch swing. My brain protested watching your footage and my environment moving differently at the same time. 😅

Good morning from Upstate South Carolina. That deer was close, but they know it's not deer season. Have another productive day.
P.S. The new machine is Vermeer, right? See hat.
Also, you might want to clean the bird droppings off of the swing before you sit on it. I don't plan on buying anything, just 1000 rounds of 5.56x45mm.

Mike I saw a picture of a wood mizer saw that was hooked to flex hose on saw dust exhaust that went up to the rafters of pole barn that hooked to some type vacum system then hooked to metal duct pipe ran a long way out into yard-- so no piles by saw

Should put a sheet of roofing tin on top of the stickered wood pile to keep the sun and rain off.

Those 1st 4 off cuts of the logs on your mill...Long term camp ground guys salivate for those things if they can get them on the cheap. I knew some guys that would go around to the small mills like yours and pay the guy some $$ for a dump trailer load. The guys would use their own dump trailer then cut them to length at the camp ground...
