Hello and Welcome to the flow! Today on Cycling With Sully we are comparing 10 hardtail mountain bikes in the $700 to $900 price range to celebrate the channel reaching 1,000 subscribers The entry level hardtail is pretty much a right of passage in the mountain biking community. There is nothing like walking into the bike shop and buying your brand new mountain bike. But when you're just starting out it may seem overwhelming to find the best bike for you. In this video I will break down ten popular mountain bikes in this category so you know which one is truly the best. - Наука та технологія
Glad to know i made the right choice! xtrada 6 definitely all rounder for me. thanks for the video!
I just got myself the Polygon Xtrada 6 1x11 and think it's a great bike and I also love the colour scheme.
All these bikes seem awesome but I am happy with my Fuji Nevada and have no complaints. The Spinner 300 forks seem great so far.
I got the 2021 Giant Talon1 and it's awesome XC bike to used in any terrain...in road or off road.😁👍
Like a lot of people, I needed a bike fairly quickly and went searching for the better known name brands like Trek and Giant but found there was no stock on those anywhere. I hadn't heard of Jamis but they had one in the right price range, decent components in a really nice red so I bought it. Good to know it takes the value lead in this comparison! Thanks!
I have my 2021 Trek Marlin 7 which I’m pleased very with 😋
I have seen a bunch of these comparison videos and this is a very good one. But I don’t see anyone mention the norco storm. I just picked up a norco storm 2 for about 800. It was actually the only bike I could find in stock locally with a few basic requirements but still it’s pretty good. I am new to the sport so maybe I don’t know any better but think it is worth checking out.
Thanks bro for clearing my doubts.👍🏻🙏🏻👏🏻
*I love this bike. Besides **Latest.Bike** being kind of heavy, I have no complaints. It was delivered a day early in great shape and it is a blast to ride*
So, for us in the UK, its the Voodoo Bizango then! But nice to see such a comparison of the other bikes available!
Thank's! I give it a three 👍👍👍 thumbs up!! Good work 👍!
Subscribed, but would have been very happy u have added polygon premier 5 in the list.
Congrats on 1k bro
Best vid review i ever watched
I not to long ago was looking for a nice trail bike at a price that was reasonable so I ended up settling on a polygon x trada 6 2021 limited edition I believe has a 2x10 drivetrain but other than that it has all the other parts that are on the xtrada in this video but it was only available for a short time but its awesome and wold recommend these bikes to anyone
I recently bought a GT avalanche and Im quite happy. i had my eyes on your suggestions here but couldn't get a hold of them as most were out of stock so I settled with the GT
Nice i might get that one
gt arent that good the pit lots pf aluminum in the bike
@@felipelizalde1640 you can find bikes over £2000 made of aluminium. its not the material, its what you do with it.
Nice and thank you bro and I am from India
My Cannondale trail has internal cables but it is an older model
Congrats on 1k
Thanks! Huh thats interesting that your older Cannondale Trail has internal cable routing.
Polygon Xtrada 6 for me 👍
I love TREK AND JAMIS ..owned a few giants too oh and SCOTT are my favourites also KONA I’ve owned a lot of bikes..I never owned a POLYGON but I knew someone who had one and they are good
I am looking for a Jamis Durango A1 in my area because I really like that is a 1x9 and it has a really good value. There are a few dealers close to me but most bike shop websites don't tell you if they have it in stock so I have to do some calling.
Check out Marin bobcat 3 too not a bad deal though
Nice video, but why there is not a Scott bike there in that video..? 🤔🤔
Check trek’s website. The marlin 7 comes with bontrager Kovee TLR wheelset which is tubeless ready.
Should I get an GT avalanche or giant talon 1? I found used ones for great deals and idk what to pick
Have you come across the Jamis Highpoint? It seem to have better components than the Durango and is still in the $800 range.
How do you think about rm fusion 30?
Which one weighs the most and the less
I just got a norco 5 is that good?
No Rocky Mountain fusion?
Been thinking of ditching the hybrid and diving into my first hardtail. Dare I ask, Fujis; cool or crap? I thinking the Nevada 29 1.3 (my preferred price range). But I can step up to the Bighorn 29 1.5 for a few bucks more. Thoughts? Anyone? Help!!!
I actually own a Fuji Outland 1.1. It's like the full suspension version of the Bighorn. I haven't had any issues with the bike so far. If you can go for the Bighorn.
@@CyclingWithSully Thanks! Good to know. Of course your Outland is a good $900 more than the Bighorn 1.5 I'm looking at. I don't expect it to hold it's own against an Outland but hoping it's good bang for buck in the $1,000-ish range. I'm trying to keep an open mind but have to admit, I'm a bit partial to Fuji. ;)
I have polygon xtrada 2021. Comfortable geometry, have no issue so far.
How do you like it ?
How is it going?
Which one best bro trek marlin 7 or polygon xtrada 6 1 *11?
Xtrada
What do you think about the Canyon stoic 2?
Brilliant bike
I would choose the polygon anyday
I got the diamondback hook and is perfect
do u think i should get a trek marlin 7 or gt avalanche
I just bought a Marlin 7 and love it! Would not trade it for anything else on this list
So after seeing these comparisons I don't really understand the argument about "Don't upgrade your bike, save for a better one" because other than specific angles will these bike are the same but ranging in quality of components. Seems to make a lot more sense to slap on an air fork on an existing bike than to spend triple on a bike that already has one
Could you make the Same for 500€ i wanted the Specialized Rockhopper but it is Sold Out everywhere
Good idea stay tuned for a similar comparison video under 500
What about rockshock?
How about a Vitus Nucleus? It has air forks and is probably priced less than most of these bikes
Good luck finding one in stock bro it's sold out everywhere currently and has been for a while
Just bought one a couple weeks ago and it’s a great ride for the money. Only downside is the 1x8 - it could really use another low gear for steeper climbs. In the meantime I’m gonna bulk up my legs ;)
i bought a 2021 norco storm 2 and its got nearly all the specs of these bikes have . deore 10 speed disc brakes tubles capable rims etc . cost me $800 aus . the storm 1 has better front shocks and calipers for $1,100 aus . now the prices just went up . storm 2 $1,000 storm 1 $1,300 .
Best recommendation for purchasing one of these bikes? I understand the market for entry level mtb are at a demand.
Sign up for email alerts and check websites daily.. took 3 months but finally scored a Ragley Big Al 2.0 that way!!
YOU FORGOT TO MENTION THERES 4 TYPES OF GT AVALANCHES, THE SPORT IS THE ONLY ONE WITH A 2x DRIVETRAIN MY COMP IS A 1x10 and WITH SHIMANO HYDRAULIC BRAKES!!
The need for hydraulic is over-rated. Cable brakes allow for in the field repairs hydraulics don't. I'd be more concerned if the braking force was different, and some may argue "feel" but if they stop you they have done their job. I wonder is there any real braking distance difference between hydraulic and cable disc brakes.
I believe the hydraulics fare better in rough conditions like rain and mud, where the v-breaks lose stopping power. In dry conditions I would wonder how much duration each has, knowing that larger discs allow for longer descents+breaking (while small disks might overheat and negatively affect the breaking pads
What about Marin bike.!
Hey sully no Vitus?
Thanks for the observation. I was trying to compare bikes found in bike shops mostly. Plus the Vitus is sort of in a league of its own.
@@CyclingWithSully thank you sully,great channel
No disrespect. Kona Mahuna will smash trek Marlin 7. Not lava dome. I ordered the Mahuna it has same price as Marlin 7. 1x11 and air fork rockshox. Tubeless ready too.
Oh wow I definitely have to check out the Kona Mahuna sounds like a great bike!
@@CyclingWithSully yes mate. Here in Germany Marlin 7 and Kona Mahuna have the same price. Worth to check.
Give me some Inputs what you can say about Kona Mahuna

Check out this hardtail: ua-cam.com/video/0EqS0stiO7o/v-deo.html
Top price and top components!
Your wrong about GT
The bike is solid and my Ebike conversion went great. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Very smooth ride at 30mph with no problems (135 miles ridden so far). The picture is a bit deceiving - there is WAY less space in the center of the frame than it shows. The suspension connection takes up the entire thing. So I needed to attach my battery on the bottom of the frame and my controller on the top. Instructions for assembly were lacking but honestly it wasn't too hard to figure out even though I have very little bike knowledge. Watched some youtube videos on adjusting the disk brakes but that was it. Still, I am loving it and very happy with the purchase.
No Marin bobcat trail 4...... Disappointing
Who has a cannondale trail 5?
👇
Sepedalipat
As
Very disappointed on PolygonI !! Good only on paper
Coming from Specialized pitch expert it is a huge difference .
I don't recommend Polygon , very poor quality
What problems you have?
Could you please elaborate?
700-900 is not budget
Most good mountain bikes start around 1600, these are absolutely budget. You aren’t going to get anything of quality under the 700 range
@@collinszymanski7126 exactly. I wanted a decent enough bike and the guy asked me how much riding I'll be doing. I said not a ton, and he recommended the Fuji Nevada. When I upgrade, I'll go into the $1500-$2000 range. The bike is solid enough to my knowledge. I ride it more than I expected and get to hone skills well.
@@collinszymanski7126 i got a norco storm 2 for $800 aus . not bad for a cheapy . i turned it into a 3,200w mid drive ebike with 220mm shimano 4 piston brakes and 200mm rear with the same calipers . it does over 60kmh and will pull wheelies in most gears . 52v 25ah battery .
I would include there the marlin St Quentin 1. For the trails i think is the best vfm. Personal opinion of course. Also you can get under 1000 euros the Gt Avalance comp and elite which are much better bikes that the sport version.
