- This is my second conversation with Amanda Lehmann. It took place on 9/20/2022 from her home in London.
Originally a classically trained pianist, Amanda fell in love with the power of rock and the overdriven guitar. But not being one to be constrained to any one musical genre, she has blended the boundaries throughout her musical career between prog rock, blues, rock, jazz, folk and classical. An accomplished vocalist/songwriter, Amanda has written, recorded and performed extensively over the years, and her new solo album INNOCENCE and ILLUSION was released 20 August 2021.
Amanda spent her early musical years gigging extensively throughout the UK with her bands. She has also been involved in various duo and solo work (the main duo being Wazzoon - Amanda Lehmann & Eddy Deegan).
From 2009 Amanda has been playing guitar and backing / lead vocals with Steve Hackett, joining the band on the UK 2009 tour, and continuing throughout 2010 - 2013. Amanda also features on several of Hackett's albums and live DVDs, and regularly appears as a guest at some of his shows.
What an amazing artist she is. Gifted vocalist, musician, composer, and so kindhearted. I don't think she knows just how special she is.... but that's a great quality too.
