Seiko pretty much always cuts corners with the bracelets on their entry-level watches, but for their price I think they are definitely the best! So awesome
Seiko are not the only ones to cut corners with the bracelet. A lot of watch brands that cost considerably more than Seiko do this. As if we the consumer are going to love the way it looks so much that it doesn't matter haw it wears. Longines was real bad with this in the past but they are really picking up their game lately. I think this Seiko has successfully found the sweet spot with quality/ luxury but at the same time I wouldn’t be scared to wear it fearing it would get damaged 😂
Honestly I do the same with more expensive watches. I wear the hell out of them because that is what I got them for but I do have one that I don’t wear as much due to not wanting scratches.

Love the design of Seiko watches. Can't be beat.
No disrespect to Seiko but I wouldn't go that far. There is a lot to be said about how much of the market share they have and I will say for the price, I think you may be correct, they probably can't be beat. With that said, just a bit of saving and you could move into a much better watch.

Just found and subscribed to your channel. Love your no nonsense approach. I've had a Seiko 5 on my wrist for over 25 years. It's kind of a love hate relationship. It's the Seiko 7S26B automatic movement with day date. As much as I like the watch's case size, face and lume , I find myself correcting the time every couple of days. Looking forward to your up coming videos.

Thank you so much! I know all about the working with the hands, I was a block mason for 15 plus years. I got out of the business in 2008 when the housing market crashed which was the one of the worst times but ended up being one of the best things to ever happen for me. I agree 100% the jubilee would be a winner and it would take this watch to the next level.

Id like to join in on this. Your channel fits me as an audience. I'm interested in watches but can not justify paying the amount of a used (or even brand new) car for a watch being a family man that has to prioritize econonomic obligations. Thus Seiko is right up my alley. I already have 3 Seikos, a Prospex samurai, a presage sharp edge and an older quartz dress. I agree that Seiko is the gateway watch for beginner enthusiasts who are not ready to splurge a large amount of money. I love my collection (mainly composing of the new Seiko 5 line and then some) but would love to have more upscale timepieces someday!

Seiko's definitely have their flaws, but in my opinion they do dials better than anyone else. Good luck to everyone.

I applaud your honesty 👏! Seiko watches, even with their shortcomings, are huge in the industry. Their 4R/NH movements while basic, are good movements. But there is a lot Seiko can do to make their watches better without increasing the price too much, if at all. However, The SeikoMOD community has taken care of all the things you’ve mentioned that can be improved upon. Leave it enthusiasts to take the bull by the horns and submit it to their will! 🤣
Again, thank you for the support! I think the MOD thing is really cool but not sure how I feel with dial replacements that mislead what the watch is. I see a ton of Grand Seiko dials being swapped and sold on ebay and I must say the sellers do list it as a Seiko MOD but I could still see someone that doesn't know any better thinking they bought a Grand Seiko.

My dad was a diver and was always a fan of Seiko. Ever since I inherited one of his, I’ve become more interested in getting into starting a watch collection. Love the “Pepsi” color dial!
This is what I love about watches! So many people connect with memories through watches that were handed down to them or even watches that just bring back a memory because their dad or grandpa wore one. Love the video, I agree that Seiko is a good starter for collecting, I will say their strong suit is definitely their dials, Seiko makes wonderful Dials especially for their price
I am going to agree with you! I was surprised out how nice the dial on the Pepsi was in person. I don't know if you have had a chance to look at Grand Seiko in person but if not, you should. Grand Seiko's dials are like a work of art! Overall, they are a bit to dressy for me but man, are they beautiful! If ever I find myself in a place to pick one up at the "right price, right time" I am in!

I got into watches somewhat recently with my first purchase being a Casioak, and I've had my eye on a Seiko SSK001 for a while now. I could see myself dailying an SRPD and keeping an SSK for a special occasion watch. Nice work with the channel so far!
