Hi Joe, This is indeed a great vehicle. I happen to like this trim among the rest. I also love the Camry XSE V6. I Been happily married to my Camry for over 10 yrs now. Great review !! I was just at the dealer I saw one in the showroom it looked perfect only 2 miles on it. It was hard to control the urge not to buy it , great design, comfortable interior, and reasonable price, of course Toyota quality, and resale value. This is now on my list of future purchase right behind a 4 runner , and a 2020 Tacoma Toyota's making it harder to choose so many great models.
I got one Adventure 2021 with panoramic roof and for me is the best design off all in his segment (CRV, Rougue, Tucson, etc.) Love my Adventure! Great design!!
All (2014-2019+) Rav4# in Europe come with a 2.0 150hp engine connected to a CVT. They still have the AWD, still have manual mode, eco mode and sport mode. The CVT is not Jatco, Toyota designed it themselves so dont worry about it braking down. I am aiming exactly for the 2019 AWD Rav4 with a CVT!
They'd put the screen like that to make the screen display visible even if you are facing the bright sunrise or sunset, the old display placement is a let down it glared too much on this situation and what if you are using you maps for navigation that display is very important.
Joe another great run down as always but I will say you were a little off about the fender cladding, like in the previous generation Adventure trim, it is indeed larger and thicker than the other RAV4 trims as it stretches all the way to the body line that goes around the wheelwells.
Joe, since the RAV4 almost has every Trim in a Hybrid Version like the XSE, XLE Premium, and the Limited, do You think that we will eventually see a Hybrid Version of the Adventure? In the Adventure I actually Love the 2 Tone Interior of the Mocha Softex instead of this Black Softex. It gives it more contrast. I agree with you, I would of loved to have seen that Orange Stitching in the Armrest, Shift Boot, and especially in the Stearing Wheel. Great Review Once Again Joe.
Great review! Is it possible to see slight engine tweaking for 2020, leather stearing wheel, more exterior colors, and Android Auto or is this usually something that needs to wait til the next generation?
I prefer the FJ style better, it would be interesting to see what Ford’s new Bronco and Baby Bronco would look like and the sales would be. I wish someone would make something to compete with the Wrangler as far as the style goes, but not so expensive like the G Wagon or tiny as Suzuki’s Jimny. Speaking of Jimny, the delivery time or wait time in Europe to get one is months.
Oh my goodness. Zonk for the rubberized steering wheel, and no Android Auto. I have no choice but to save my pennies up for the perfected Adventure based TRD when the 2020 model comes later this year. Seriously, normally, I used to want top of the line performance sport trim of any vehicle I got with all the options, unless there was a reason I didn't want a certain option if I were special ordering it. I decided if I had the money, I would get this, though I wish Toyota would clarify if Android Auto can be added to those model vehicles with Apple CarPlay with a software update, or only later models with totally new radios and such would have that, like it seems at this time, only the limited edition TRD models of vehicles available will have Android Auto. I also was thinking I would deal with it, mostly BT integration for phone use, MP3 files via USB flash drives, and interact and discuss the importance and practicality of just getting along, and probably just get an entry level Apple iPhone XR to use with these Toyotas without Android Auto. So, if I had the money, I would but a Rav4 Adventure just like this one if I didn't want to wait for the TRD, and if I could get it today. For the price, I would probably get this instead of an Apex Blue Pearl Acura ILX A-spec with the technology package because of its overall utility, and ruggedness, similar to opting for the Honda HR-V Sport over the Cuvic Sport Sedan, even though those to sedans have more power and are a blast to drive on the street than the SUVs I mentioned. Of course, you have the Rav4 XSE, but the Adventure has all the gear I would want. I forgot if the TRD had upgraded brakes over the Adventirevit is based on, but other than TRD badges and logos, the main difference is that the TRD has specific 18" wheels, instead of the very nice 19" ones on the Adventure, and a modified suspension to be able drive fast off road without killing the suspension like doing so has proven to do on many popular and well known 4X4 trucks that may be the rock crawler the Rav4 Adventure or TRD is not. The TRD also reportedly has improved on road ride quality, as was stated by Toyota engineers on on TRD vehicles. Nevertheless, for what it is, it's off road capability is light years ahead of any previous Rav4, even in casual off roading in a mild empty lot with various terrain. Other than that, spec'd out as is, not counting the added virtues and mucho dinero hike of the TRD, the Rav4 Adventure is a gem, if you don't want to upgrade and upsize to a 4Runner. For me, this is the best overall off road worthy SUV of this size, with price point reasonable for what it is equipped with, like that Mazda MX5 Miata Club edition in the same price is well worth the money for what it's design and configuration was intended for.
I have a 2019 Toyota RAV4 XLE AWD. Is there any difference between the drivetrain or motor? I am wondering if I just throw on some different wheels and tires that it will be as just as capable as the adventure version. Thanks man!
Prop rods are used because hood struts invariably fail or loose effectiveness over time and although they can be replaced very easily, most people fail to do so and when you are in a bind and need the hood open to do work, a prop rod won't fail. The reason the engine is still a 4 cylinder is because toyota didn't want to canibalize 4runner sales as well as keep fuel economy great to comply with CAFE laws. Still a turbo is nice, but no turbo means proven reliability imo
feels like the rear bumper is undone with the tail pipe like after thought. if it could integrated with better design it would be nice. Other wise, I am liking it.
Are you guys aware that this dynamic torque vectoring system makes a very loud “clank, clank” when it disengages itself in normal and eco mode? If you own an adventure or limited model RAV (2019 model) you will hear this (as you brake and are coming to a stop at around 18-20 mph in a relatively quiet neighborhood or environment) if you roll down your windows (noise can’t be heard with windows up). I’m disappointed to say the least and really hope that Toyota will address this and find a fix.
That’s interesting, because am on the fence deciding between rav4 and cx5 turbo, test drove both, didn’t notice it the first time but the second test drive I did it was present , pretty weird, the cx5 is smooth but lacks lots of driver assist features here in Canada like parking sensors, 360 degree camera, backup camera is pretty useless , the engine though has grunt
Andriy Roma also, an adventure or limited is 38k? You can get a base sr5 4x4 4runner for around 35-36k. The rav4 is a nice little suv. Dont get me wrong. But its not the v6 rav4 of the past. This design looks great, automatic, japan built too most of them. But i dont know.
Yes, you could get a base 4WD 4Runner. If you wanted to go bigger, but yes, basic. They should offer a V6 and 4 cylinder, like the Camry. If the Rav4 previously offered a V6, even more so, but this new Rav4 is so much more advanced over the previous one, especially for the off road traction in various conditions. Bit still, compared to some other SUVs, like the Forester Sport, the power is decent, more than the Forester, and more reliability and durability.
Cole Payne the limited and adventure models have torque vectoring. Sometimes you will hear a groan noise once the car is warmed up while slowing down or accelerating. 1. No. This isn’t even close to the FJ. They’re trying to make it look like 4Runner and others in the line up. 2. The RAV4 100% is in the same class as the Forester. The top three in that class are CRV, Forester and RAV4. (Rogue, CX5, & Escape are also in the same class) 3. The black trim partially surrounding the wheel arches is a direct imitation of the Lambo Urus - obviously an effort by Toyota to make the RAV4 seem more upscale.
@@RaitisRides Automotive companies were being penalized (especially during Obama's term) for fuel inefficiency so Toyota for example, started engineering Hybrids like the Prius. Even Mazda in order to stay profitable had to reduce the Mazda6's which once had 6 cylinders (thus the name) down to 4. In 2007 Mazda produced a fast gas- hog crossover vehicle called the CX-7 which they had to kick to the curb because of newly formed gas standards.
The side angle screams Cherokee, which isn't a bad thing. Secondly, it doesn't need a rock setting. No way I bring it anywhere near an off road trail, much less rock climbing. I sorta like the interior. The knobs really are too knobby. The engine is too underpowered. No way I trade our 17 Escape with the 2.0 Ecoboost for this engine. All in all, it's OK. I can't get too excited about a crossover. Even driving one is boring. Lol
I disagree with you wanting more orange stitching and more silver, it’s an accent, accents means it’s a limited amount of it and going overboard just doesn’t fit this vehicle since it’s a suv and overdoing the silver makes it seem like a gimmick and a cheap car. I guess saying I like black could explain my opinion
I'll zonk all the silver on the bumpers and the interior.....WAY too much for my taste. No leather wrapped steering wheel? What's this world coming too...... ZONK!

But its come from multiple customer reviews so I'm sure there's truth too it. Although the reviews are super dramatic 😂 I get where they're coming from tho this thing ain't cheap for what it is
David Dawson nothing like that happened in this review. I did recently have a RAV4 rental while in Salt Lake City and that one had 26,000 miles and drive fine as well.
@@RaitisRides eh, idk man just stuff I have read. If ima take someone's word on it, it's yours! Some people aren't used to 7,8,9 speed transmissions so that could be something to do with it. But at least it ain't a cvt, that's all that matters! haha
David Dawson I would like to see the actual numbers of affected cars!
Toyota, please have an option to add a super charger and fat fenders.
amill1563 do y hold your breathe!
Imagine Retiring as middle class or Higher Lifestyle. I'd buy A Semi Luxury Suv and be a Uber Or Lyft driver picking people up Across the Country through every city. That's deff on my Bucket list.
Can't wait for the trd rav4! In this one look amazing.
allstar -J I totally agree!
Toyota keeps making the RAV4 bigger every generation. Then need to re-introduce the V6 at this point.
Wait,,I thought you said New FJ cruser 😖😩😭
Sorry! It's Toyota's fault!
A sunroof is also an option
Thanks for that extra info Justin!
Sunroof is standard on the Trail model up here in Canada which is the Adventure version up here.
I went with a 2019 Jeep Cherokee Latitude Plus V6 for the extra power. Got the tow package and 7 year unlimited mile bumper to bumper warranty for less than 30k.
Thanks for sharing that great input Jeremy!
jeremyd2003 How long until that Jeep breaks down?
@@zakm4012 if it does, I am covered for 7 years. My friends family owns the dealership, so I don't see them messing with me. After that, I will trade it. I've gotten 310k out of a 2001 Neon. I think I will be fine.
jeremyd2003 So the reason why you got the good deal in the first place was because your family owns the dealership....
@@zakm4012 no my buddies family. No, you'd get the same. Are you done? Why do you care enough to attack me tough guy. I 100% guarantee you'd never run your mouth to me in person. Go away.

I cant do those wheel wells. Looks like a jeep with a Toyota grill.
It can't rain all the time your right it does!
The black trim partially surrounding the wheel arches is a direct imitation of the Lambo Urus - obviously an effort by Toyota to make the RAV4 seem more upscale.
Thanks for sharing your input and perspective! I appreciate you watching!
camera person did a bad job on focusing on the dash side when you were changing the different modes.
smh
didn't zoom in nor fix the focus on it.
Sorry about that! I don't use them anymore.
@@RaitisRides thank you. ❤
Good morning yall
Good morning!
Not enough power to match its looks. Toyoa please bring back the FJ cruiser!!!!
Scotty Kilmer says that Toyota discontinued the FJ because it burned much gas.
Lizzy3141592 C. I wished they would!
Greg Holman there are many other cars that burn plenty of fuel.
You are so very right Greg! Thanks for sharing that info!
Toyota has come along way in the style department
I totally agree with you!
Toyota can use a prop rod because they don’t breakdown and it’s not an engine to “show off” to your buddies.
Doesn't directly compete with the Subaru Forester? I disagree. It is a direct competitor without question.
Thanks for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
@@RaitisRides Absolutely! Love the detail you go into on your videos, not everyone goes that deep. Thanks!
That color screams ThatDudeInBlue
Midwest DankAlumni I think it screams Nitrous Blue!
Manual transmission and it would really be perfect.
I totally agree with you!
Surprised it didn't have pink leather seats...lol
You are hilarious!
Well at least It isn't a very reliable rattle trap like the first and second generation of the Toyota Rav4.
Thank you for sharing your input and perspective! I appreciate you watching!
Lol
Spenser Hawk you hit on all the good points!
That thing would eat shit off road compared to an FJ.
YOU ARE OVER 40 YEARS OLD? I would have never guess you were over 30
Thanks that really means a lot!
I don't look a day over 40 either....... NOT lol
Not having the V6 is the only reason I will not buy
The duel exhaust looks cheesy.
Those headlights look so Fordy lol
Anderson Matos you think so? 🤔
Raiti's Rides yeah, like those on the Edge 🤔
Anderson Matos I’m going to check it out!
The only thing Fordy I've seen lately are a whole bunch of vehicles on the side of the road dead with the FORD emblem on them. ;)
Fj cruiser is a,4000lbs v6 269hp no comparison
I think Toyota wants you to think it is.
Toyota doest have a good replace for the FJ except the 4runner or Tacoma
I drove that model at Wesley Chapel about two weeks ago. Didn’t buy it, was too slow and loud. My 2016 RAV4 LE is much quieter and has more pep.
Kevin H buy the hybrid
Justin Xu gotta test the hybrid fwd soon
Kevin H you will love it! I have the XSE HYBRID and love it! The mpg is just incredible!!! It’s also very quiet just like a Lexus.
What a small world!
AGREED!
This guy has never seen a fj
What ever you say!
@@RaitisRides it looks nothing at all like a FJ
The color screams I'm a flaming Village People Fan...
Have you ever seen the pain colors from the 50's & 60's?
Raiti's Rides got licence in 69
Raiti's Rides everybody was in the closet in the 50's and 60's...lol
34K? lol
It is too much. 25K is just right.
It is still Toyota.
8 inch display .lol
Thanks for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
25k? sure get an LE
27k awd
25k haggled price
25K = wishful thinking 15K = sounds even more right to me lol
Zonk?
The infotainment is ugly... Looks like an after thought.
I feel your pain!
I won't say what pain I feel for this comment lol
No.
Thanks for sharing your input and perspective!
It’s the ugliest suv I’ve ever seen , First look make you say too much plastic yo ! Toyota is getting funnier every each year
Thanks for sharing your input and perspective! I appreciate you watching!
I think your ugly...... but does that mean anyone else thinks the same???? Think about it.....
👍video👍
Thanks man!
ZONK!
This thing ain't got shit on the FJ Cruiser!
Whoever buys this car will get a dogged out POS. Dude...its not a race car!
