You two do the best collabs on UA-cam. With Keith Johnson and Bourbon Moth, you know you're getting two completely different videos and two different takes on everything. Which I like. I say you make it official for future team ups. I say we call this union:..................................wait for it.............................Bourbon Johnson!

Just found you and this is the 3rd video I’ve seen and I’ve already learned so much in 2 videos. That’s amazing to me. I’m a 62 year old female and me and my Dad always talked about doing woodwork when we retired. Unfortunately, my Dad died but I decided to give it a try so what I’ve learned from you already is a tremendous help. Thank you so much for the education. I need it to play with my new tools and machines…. Lol. Can’t wait! 😁😁

Stacking duplicate pieces is a sign of a good craftsman. When ever I build drawer boxes I always stack them and make sure they're all the same dimensions and square. Its very pleasing to me!

Maybe build a wooden ladder with precise measurements to land properly on some "receiver" pieces permanently affixed on the upper units on a safe angle. When not in use, it could hang flat on the side wall to the left of the windows using nautical-looking (as a nod to the 5-day boat build) brass hooks. Oh and green felt.

With the upper cabinets, I'd have slid the one into the middle like you did, but then slid it to the left or right. Then repeat sliding the second one the other way, leaving the middle upper section empty. This then would have left space for you to escape from the apex. Then slide the middle cabinet in when everything else was in place. This is all hindsight and from an outside view though. Also what on earth is going on those top shelves? Will this be like a Grand Library wall?

The clamping operation for adding the strip to the top is a good place for clamping cauls - they spread out the clamping force. The top is relatively flexible along is length, and all those clamps are point sources, requiring a clamp almost every inch. When you space the clamp away, the force spreads out in 90 degrees, imagine a triangle with its point facing up where clamp hits the caul and the force radiating downward to base of that triangle. The taller the caul the wider the even pressure and fewer clamps needed, a 2” caul would put clamps 3” apart, a 4” about 5.75” apart. In this case it’s not totally about using fewer clamps, it’s about keeping it even and not introducing undulations across the edge. It’s easy to put too much pressure on the clamps to close the spaces between. If you wanted to be super precise, you can mark your cauls with triangles, and if you put a clamp at each upper point you will have the same pressure along the entire joint.

Seems easier to lift them all up in the center, then move first to the right, second to the left and install the center cabinet last? (or use the exposed truss as lifting point and winch it up lol)

Not sure about your off brand Blum sliders, but if you’re stuck on your next project, pick up the Komplement slider from ikea. It’s a stripped down white label Blum Tandem (Blum white label the hinge systems as well) and work pretty well for under mount drawer boxes.
Only downside is that they come in just two sizes: 350 and 550 which suit the two PAX cabinet depths, but otherwise it’s a good way to pick up some soft close drawer slides on the cheap. Pretty sure it’s about $20 for a left and right slider.
