I loved when Bow sayed friends and a person who throwed me off a cliff I thin She Ra throwed him off a cliff in one episode when she was efected with the virus.
Intersting fact: Catra actually cut her hair even shorter than Prime did. She did it to reclaim some of the control she lost when Prime chipped and controlled her.
Bow’s heart… Glimmer’s wings… Catra’s headgear… and her own ponytail I will literally love this transformation until the day I die. It’s no longer “She-Ra and Adora” or having Adora speak about She-Ra in third person or having her doubt her ability to wield She-Ra’s power - Adora is She-Ra and this new transition and new transformation incorporates her own individuality and the people most important to her becoming the woman, princess, and hero she is today. Definitely one of my favorite episodes
And - the piece that everybody misses - Mara's outfit. Okay, the outfits aren't identical, but look at them side by side. You've got the trousers with gold banding, you've got the half-skirt, you've got the symbol on the chest that merges with the pauldrons, you've got the heeled boots...Adora's true She-Ra form borrows a LOT from Mara's.

I think what a lot of people fail to acknowledge is the fact that Adora *always* wanted Catra back as her friend, it's just that after the portal she believed Catra was too far gone. After saving Glimmer, she let herself believe she could have her friend back. But as much Adora wants her friend back, she isn't willing to let Catra back into her life unless she puts in the work necessary for them to be friends again, which is basically Adora giving her an ultimatum. Adora is holding Catra accountable while also giving her the chance to prove that she wants to change, which is going to give them a chance to build a healthier and happier relationship than the one they had back in the Horde moving forward.
I mostly agree. The only quibble I'd offer is that I don't think Adora always wants Catra back, because Adora is as much a mess as Catra is and is dealing with her own trauma responses. Does Adora want Catra back more than Adora wants to devote herself to a cause that will use and exploit her? I think she doesn't, and I think Catra wasn't wrong to pick up on that. I think Adora wants Catra back in the front of her mind, but in the back of her mind where all the real work gets done, she just wants to go back to the lifestyle she was trained for: one in which she's only worth having around as long as others can profit from her. I just think Catra's damage prevents her from understanding Adora, who comes off more high-functioning than Catra does, is motivated by the same need to feel safe that Catra is.
Yup! Also I have no idea why people think Adora is this submissive victim who will let Catra do whatever- she’s not. That kind of takes away from how strong Adora is for stepping away from her end of s3 and only accepting her back after she basically died to save Glimmer. Adora even, as you said, gives Catra the ultimatum to leave. Basically “I saved your life and Im glad but I don’t need to accept you behaving this way”. They start bonding again once Catra takes the step to eat with the best friend squad+ Entrapta.
@@pixiequeen7148 I would guess the idea of Adora as a submissive victim comes from an idea that caring about someone you've grown up with and have a complicated attachment to instead of instantly cutting all ties to her is a sign of weakness.
The new She-Ra is indeed MUCH more powerful than before. The sword the First Ones made was designed to CONTAIN She-Ra, to weaken and control her to use in their weapon. With the old sword gone, Adora can finally access She-Ra's full power.
I really appreciate that this episode shows that one act of kindness isn't enough to fully erase someone's bad habits. Catra needs time to work on herself and the fact that she's really trying to do better makes her turn much more meaningful and realistic.
Yeah, yeah, yeah… we all love the deep character moments from Catra and we all love She-Ra’s arms. But can we talk about the fact that Mara apparently had an apron on her ship that says “SMOOCH THE CHEF” in First One’s writing.
I am not ashamed to say I cried at the scene in the thumbnail. Then I laughed at Catra's reaction. Embrace that bottom energy, girl, it might do you some good.
“Please… stay.” Hey kids it’s time for the weekly chorus of ‘how the bleeeeeeeep did this show not win all the voice acting awards’! There’s so much in those two words and almost all of it heartbreaking.
I love how Micah is at first a silly dad but then he becomes a wise mentor. It fits too since Glimmer has become Frosta's big sister in the previous seasons.
I know it’s not really the main focus of this episode but can we just appreciate the Spinnetossa moments? I feel like it’s such an underrated ship and I’m glad these two got some well-deserved spotlight this season.
For real. They turned from simple side characters with minimal screentime to having their own personal side story in the conflict with Horde Prime. Especially Netossa gets some great moments (f.ex. when she tells everyone their own weaknesses).
I saw on Instagram at some fan Page that it is cannon that catra's hand shake when she is afraid , and Adora always hold her hands or wrists to calm her down even in the middle of a fight, so I started to pay attention and notice it many times.
Just-rescued-Catra makes me think a bit about being friends with someone deppressed, when they're just coming out of an episode. She doesn't just "snap" out of It. She can't. And It's kind of easier to stick with what she knows, or just letting herself go. Healing Is harder, but she's already taking some steps.
Catra definitely displayed a lot of growth in that "Stay", but take a moment to also appreciate what Adora had to do. Her whole life, she felt responsibility for Catra. Even when they were apart. But here, she had to open up herself and actually give Catra a genuine choice, even if that meant losing her forever.
It really makes perfect sense that Catra would briefly regress to her more maladaptive state after experiencing the second-worst thing to ever happen to her (her childhood is the first). There's still been some improvement, though - outside the Horde the very worst thing she does when spiraling is wallow in her room and snap at people. Not the best behavior, but it's clear that this environment is better for her than anywhere else she's been.
This ep wasn’t just about Catra unlearning toxic habits but Adora as well - it’s just done a lot more subtly with her. As compassionate as Adora is, her deeper emotional empathy was always something she lacked in. She needed to learn to see things from Catra’s end. Not just by giving her a choice but listening to her when she has something to say & actually think about how her actions affect Catra when she doesn’t include her, instead of just assuming she knows how she feels (which are all habits that were attached to their unhealthy dynamic in the past)

Ah yes, the moment that pressing the 'we're an inclusive show' button became boring for the production staff so they broke out the pogo sticks! And it was... glorious! Even then though... damn this episode is yet another example of great storytelling. Holding a very bright lantern up to the trope of 'and now she's on our side' to show it ain't that easy in the real world. Redemption not being a single act but something you have to work out (much to Catra's annoyance as I'm pretty sure she expected the 'die for your sins' route...). Adora yet again tapping into She-Ra from a very... interesting mental place. And, of course, the new transformation being a total smoke show which I'm sure had *nothing* to do with her doing it for the first time in front of Catra *cough*. Oh and a very small thing that I forgot to mention before: love how they handle magic in this universe. Everything Adora does (space physics notwithstanding) with her power makes sense when magic is basically an energy source that can be turned to whatever use is needed. Very nicely done and the visuals are yet again gorgeous.
Love that you both caught the symbolism behind Adora's new She-Ra outfit and how the power comes from within her, not the sword the First Ones built to control her. Another aspect regarding Adora's continued growth and her relationship to She-Ra is in the theme and movements when she transforms. Earlier in the series, when She-Ra was being accessed from the sword, the music had this retro synth-rock vibe with an action-oriented tempo that reflected the mindset of the First One's warriors. Adora's action poses (tossing the sword, the fist slam into her palm) not only represent her own soldier upbringing in the Horde but also the mentality the First One's would want in their chosen She-Ra. The final aspect that shows the First One's control of this ancient power is how, with Adora's final pose raising the sword after fully transforming, the wave of power originates from the sword itself. Now, with the Sword of Protection broken and the First One's control removed, the true essence of She-Ra emerges. The synth-rock theme is replaced with a sweeping orchestral score as Adora connects with a power that is far more ancient and cosmic than anything Horde Prime or the First One's have created. Adora's actions during the transformation are also far less aggressive and more open as she builds her new vision of She-Ra around the best influences in her life. Lastly, when she poses with her sword, the wave of magic radiates from her, not the sword. This is the turning point where Adora begins truly taking control of the She-Ra mantle and her own life.
This is such a good episode as catra isn’t Instantly good and her acts are not suddenly forgotten as she feels very awkward in there Company Also prime cutting catras hair reminds me what the evil queen did to azlan in lion the witch and the Wardrobe as it’s a power move to show that there in control and to humiliate them
In this fic I'm putting together, that's very similar to a bit of Magicat lore I came up with :) Their manes being a prominent feature of their overall appearance, how they're styled and grown shows everything from ranks in the clan to sex appeal when it comes to attracting a mate. And if a crime was committed or if the person were to be as far as exiled from the clan, then their mane would be cut off as a form of humiliation. And since hair takes a while to grow back, especially as long and as thick as we've seen Catra's, that person has to deal with that shame being on display for all to see for a long time. And even if that person were to find themselves amongst people who don't know the significance of their manes, the person would still see the shame every time they touched their own head or looked in a mirror.
I love how the new transformation of Shera is a combination of Glimmer's boots, Bow's heart and Catra's mask because this one is her own representation of herself and the people she loves most.
"Where are you going?😟" "To send Horde Prime a message 😠" ✨transformation✨ Catra: 😧😳 As the biggest Adora/She-Ra simp I cannot handle this episode at all. It's always heartbreaking how Micah trying to be some kind of dad to Frosta to prepare himself for Glimmer 😭
Horde Prime: Yes yes, I get it, I miscalculated what the cat means to you, you don't have to rub it in! Ah screw it, time for some me time, where's the bubble bath....
I mean catra is not wrong to simp, is a goddess! but it makes me think that deep inside she always thought she-ra was hot, she only was saying it was ridiculous to overcompensate
This episode is great because while it's clear that catra is now on the good side they don't just have that be the end. She's still dealing with her childhood trauma and with her own guilt and everything and the best friend squad aren't just fully accepting her. Lots of people say that catra's turn to good was too easy and episodes like this make that hard for me tonsee (sure theynvould do 6 seasons on that and not get everything in)
Interesting thought: Catra seemingly has *shorter* hair than last episode: almost as if her cutting her hair (again) allowed her to take back some control after Prime violated her autonomy!
I don't know if you noticed but I thought I would tell you that the new She-ra design has a piece of everyone she loves most. (A heart on her chest for Bow, wings on her shoes for Glimmer, and she has Catra's headpiece) I love y'alls reactions! Can't wait for the next one!
8:55 there's gonna be a Percy Jackson show soon, and Riordan is actually helping direct it so it'll actually be good. You should watch it here if it's good
I love how these two are so observant that they manage to put together *so many* spookily accurate predictions about the show, but somehow they end up missing really obvious details. In this case, that the Sword was the "key" to the Heart of Etheria weapon, and that the weapon shut down because She-Ra destroyed the sword. Having the princesses back on the planet won't matter, because the main component of the weapon is still gone; the one that Adora creates isn't a piece of technology left by the First Ones, and has nothing to do with their weapon.
YESS!! You guys answered my question! 💕 I've been sitting on that one since you guys started the show! It's such a beautiful transformation and it's now Adora's She Ra!
Oh you guys are not ready for whats to come. On that ominous note great episode. I didn’t get a chance before to congratulate you guys on your engagement. I hope you both have a long and happy life together.
it’s so frustrating to me that catra seems so determined to push everyone away and how she continuously convinces herself that she can make it on her own even though she literally had just died and had to be saved. i understand where she’s coming from and i’d be lying if i said i would never do anything similar given her background and circumstances but it’s still so exasperating
She's still using her old methods to protect herself. It takes a little time for it to sink in that she's actually in a safe space. At least as safe as it can be when Horde Prime is after you.
@@hilzabub yes i understand that, and i do not blame her in the slightest. i think her response makes sense and is realistic, i just wish she could accept help from others yk
If you notice, during the transformation you can see the symbol of each of Adora's closest friends. Glimmer's wings in her boots, Bow's heart on her chest, Catra's headpiece in her head and topped with her ponytail
Something else to note on that episode is that in S4 E9, Razz tells Mara that the First Ones made the sword for She-Ra, but that doesn't made her She-Ra: she was always chosen to be She-Ra to protect Etheria. Similarly, Adora was never She-Ra via the sword, she was always chosen to be She-Ra and so that new transformation could indicate her separation from the First Ones and that she never needed them or the sword to be She-Ra: the bonds that she made along her journey made her more than strong enough to become She-Ra, hence why it has so many connections with her friends' attire.

@@carolineconti5994 I think the creator prefers to be called ND but I understand the confusion considering that in She Ra credits they're listed as Noelle
Bit of a weird detail I noticed, but I might be wrong; does the crossguard/runestone on She-ra's new sword look kinda like the pattern of Shadow Weaver's mask?
Well...we kinda have to ignore space rules , the floating hair, I was like " what wind is making hear hair to float?" And other stuff too, but is a great episode any way 😅
OK first off there was a LOT of catradora moments in this episode and secondly the apron that Glimmer gave wrong hordak said smooch the chef and first one language I think🤣😅
It's not about the episode, but I remember them having only a few patreons at the beginning, and now they can't even fit the screen. It makes me happy XD I'm broke, so I sadly can't be a part of it tho :')
Idk if that's what Kenny intended to say, but Before and After Catra, is literally BC and AC (Before Christ and After Christ, even tho it's AD in reality), and it's hilarious XD
So stranger. I distinctly remember the show being completely different, but now that Kenny has jinxed it the footage has retroactively been completely changed. Dammit Kenny

This is such a good episode as catra isn’t Instantly good and her acts are not suddenly forgotten as she feels very awkward in there Company
Also prime cutting catras hair reminds me what the evil queen did to azlan in lion the witch and the Wardrobe as it’s a power move to show that there in control and to humiliate them
In this fic I'm putting together, that's very similar to a bit of Magicat lore I came up with :) Their manes being a prominent feature of their overall appearance, how they're styled and grown shows everything from ranks in the clan to sex appeal when it comes to attracting a mate.
I feel like it's unanimous among the fandom that Adora's season 5 look is MUCH better than her first look.
17:02 I was waiting for that reveal, but what made it better is you opened your mouth RIGHT before it happened
I’m now in stitches 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Literally cannot wait😭 I purposely didn’t watch last weeks video so that I can watch that video and this one back to back and it has been TORTURE😩😭😭
Kenny jinxing Spinnerella was such a Kyle moment 🤣🤣🤣
"Where are you going?😟"
"To send Horde Prime a message 😠"
✨transformation✨
Catra: 😧😳
As the biggest Adora/She-Ra simp I cannot handle this episode at all.
@@smiddlehurst1 Omg I actually can imagine that 😭
I mean catra is not wrong to simp, is a goddess! but it makes me think that deep inside she always thought she-ra was hot, she only was saying it was ridiculous to overcompensate
@@ullyporto8833 Absolutely. But s1-4 She-Ra is not as hot as s5
@@pryaneg4217 yeah, that's true, but it was still a 8 foot tall warior princess, and pretty sure Catra hated to love 😅
It's the upset "kenny!" That really got me. Died laughing for like 5 minutes
This episode is great because while it's clear that catra is now on the good side they don't just have that be the end. She's still dealing with her childhood trauma and with her own guilt and everything and the best friend squad aren't just fully accepting her. Lots of people say that catra's turn to good was too easy and episodes like this make that hard for me tonsee (sure theynvould do 6 seasons on that and not get everything in)
Montana hits the nail on the head how collectivist values make up Adora's True Form vs her individualist upbringing and Light Hope's teaching.
Interesting thought: Catra seemingly has *shorter* hair than last episode: almost as if her cutting her hair (again) allowed her to take back some control after Prime violated her autonomy!
New She-ra > Old She-ra
Catra's gay reaction to Adora's transformation is all of us
I don't know if you noticed but I thought I would tell you that the new She-ra design has a piece of everyone she loves most. (A heart on her chest for Bow, wings on her shoes for Glimmer, and she has Catra's headpiece)
I love y'alls reactions! Can't wait for the next one!
nvm I just finished the episode lol
I’m rubbing my hands together, waiting for the She-Ra simp counter to explode and for Kenny and Montana to malfunction. 😈😆
Adora's lesbian glow-up scene GIVES ME LIFE
YESS!! You guys answered my question! 💕 I've been sitting on that one since you guys started the show!
It's such a beautiful transformation and it's now Adora's She Ra!
16:56 dude literally predicts future
I love that you guys love Percy Jackson! When the new Disney+ series comes out I’d be stoked if you could react to that?
Omg yes I'd love that!!
Oh you guys are not ready for whats to come. On that ominous note great episode. I didn’t get a chance before to congratulate you guys on your engagement. I hope you both have a long and happy life together.
There are not filler episodes in season 5, so don't worry
it’s so frustrating to me that catra seems so determined to push everyone away and how she continuously convinces herself that she can make it on her own even though she literally had just died and had to be saved. i understand where she’s coming from and i’d be lying if i said i would never do anything similar given her background and circumstances but it’s still so exasperating
I think that is a very realistic reaction!!! She doesnt know better... but she is making huge improvements!!!
If you notice, during the transformation you can see the symbol of each of Adora's closest friends. Glimmer's wings in her boots, Bow's heart on her chest, Catra's headpiece in her head and topped with her ponytail
17:04 SPOKE TOO SOON! SPOKE TOO SOON!
I think that may be one of the funniest shirts I've ever seen.
She-Ra looks like a dancing light in space.🪐🪐💫✨🌛🌞
Kenny saying “If anything happens to them” RIGHT BEFORE the shot of Spinerella’s neck had me wheezing 😂
The ending sequence really heard Kenny and said "Oh word? "
9:50 Montana’s reaction to Adora/the Adora simp counter is so me 😂😂
"if anything happens to them" *instant despair*
14:38 Yeah, not only that, but apparently she can create her own gravitational field too :q
Wrong-Hordak is an absolute icon and I love him in this episode 😂
She-Ra: Let's kick Prime's butt! 😈
Catra: 😮😳 Give me a minute...
Me playing "There, Right There!" in the background be like: 😏
The Percy Jackson Lotus Hotel reference made me freak out a little bit lol
" You jinxed it" loooool it remind me something 🤣🤣🤣
Something else to note on that episode is that in S4 E9, Razz tells Mara that the First Ones made the sword for She-Ra, but that doesn't made her She-Ra: she was always chosen to be She-Ra to protect Etheria. Similarly, Adora was never She-Ra via the sword, she was always chosen to be She-Ra and so that new transformation could indicate her separation from the First Ones and that she never needed them or the sword to be She-Ra: the bonds that she made along her journey made her more than strong enough to become She-Ra, hence why it has so many connections with her friends' attire.
Way to go, Kenny! Ya jinxed it! Nice going!
the creator of the series, Noelle, post kind of continuation to that scene in ao3 as a fanfic and it's so cute! there's also fan video of that fic here in UA-cam
the name of the fanfic is Don't Go from the author Annacharlier (noelle's profile on ao3)
@@carolineconti5994 I think the creator prefers to be called ND but I understand the confusion considering that in She Ra credits they're listed as Noelle
15:15 Not only that, but apparently she can also make her own gravity field too :q
Bit of a weird detail I noticed, but I might be wrong; does the crossguard/runestone on She-ra's new sword look kinda like the pattern of Shadow Weaver's mask?
Meanwhile Eren Jaeger breaking the rule of waiting for the protagonist to make the dance and fully transform.
The duality of t-shirts
Well...we kinda have to ignore space rules , the floating hair, I was like " what wind is making hear hair to float?" And other stuff too, but is a great episode any way 😅
ND Stevenson on Twitter around when this came out: "We’re gonna make so many astrophysicists mad with She-Ra season 5".
@@Carabas72 (her hair**) I bealive they did it lol
@@Carabas72 astronomy lover here, didn't care for the physics cuz I was too distracted by ✨ She-ra ✨
OK first off there was a LOT of catradora moments in this episode and secondly the apron that Glimmer gave wrong hordak said smooch the chef and first one language I think🤣😅
I love this episode so much!!
Holy hell, Montana's shirt is the most perfect shirt i have ever seen.
"We are very close to 80 thousand subscribers," I see, and you already have 81 thousand :D
It's not about the episode, but I remember them having only a few patreons at the beginning, and now they can't even fit the screen. It makes me happy XD
I'm broke, so I sadly can't be a part of it tho :')
she-ra looks so much like captain marvel in this episode
I'M TRYING TO START THE VIDEO BUT MONTANA'S SHIRT.
OMG I CAN'T.
everyone's talking abt the episode and im just here cackling at montana's shirt
Idk if that's what Kenny intended to say, but Before and After Catra, is literally BC and AC (Before Christ and After Christ, even tho it's AD in reality), and it's hilarious XD
So stranger. I distinctly remember the show being completely different, but now that Kenny has jinxed it the footage has retroactively been completely changed. Dammit Kenny
12:10 Kenny really SANG this one
Yeah ironically with the sword broken she probably is stronger since the sword was created to control and thus probably limit her power, with it gone its harder to transform but when she can do it she has access to all her power now.
No comment on Catra blushing at seeing She-Ra?
Catra and I share a gay panic this episode
Let the catradora fluff begin yaaaaas also short haired catra is here wooo!!!
I love Montana’s shirt 😂
It's MAGNIFICENT! Why have I never seen this shirt before?
ok, but THEIR T-SHIRTS! :0
10:56 was the perfect timing Omg😂
I love she ra’s new outfit
*It was not filler*
The begining of the episode when adora sees catra in a cropped tanktop and shorts: 😶
She-Ra has the Magic of Friendship ;)
