    The biggest saving for me was working out how much protein each of us needs and only serving that amount. Not only is the protein usually the most expensive part of a meal, research shows most people have 2-3 times the😊 mount they actually need.

    This is really useful, I live alone/am single so it's just me that I buy for, but with that i have a lot of rent and bills to pay on a single income, so saving money where possible is a priority.

    I make an end of the week EOW soup - everything I’ve got left goes into a soup! I also do a Sunday Lunch soup, using up whatever is left over from our Sunday Roast! Lush!

    Also ignore freezer use by days. Do much freezer food gets thrown out as is says, for example, use in 3 months. Frozen food lasts indefinitely x

    My mum used to put a tin of baked beans in a cottage pie to stretch it further, but I actually do this anyway now as it’s so tasty!

    I've actually found buying chopped swede is cheaper than buying a swede most of the time especially if they're small. Another reason i find it hard to peel and chop because of my hands. Your ideas are good but being diabetic you can't eat a lot of carbs like potatoes, rice and pasta. xx

    • @LaraJoannaJarvis
      @LaraJoannaJarvis  2 роки тому

      Ooh, that's good to know about the swede! It is so hard to chop up isn't it, so it's interesting it's cheaper! I would opt for pre-chopped swede myself x

    Just letting you know that the link for your FB group instead goes to a pretty dodgy looking dating site 🤦‍♀😂 Will search for the group through FB instead. Great tips, have liked and subscribed 🙂
