4-5 years ago I got started on Matt Kemps Beastmode mentality, it worked for me and got me started working out consistently but I knew I had something more. I found ET and got on the mentality of "When you wanna succeed as bad as you wanna breathe, then you'll be successful" I gave it everything I got with that mentality, out worked everybody in college stayed up until 4 5 am studying, went to school on hardly no sleep. And graduated, I also went to the gym 3 days a week for 2 hours a day. Now I continue with this mentality while I have a job and still work out 2 or 3 days a week. I'm unstoppable with Et!

Fix your rowing technique! THE CATCH: Bend more through your hips, get your upper body over more. This will come from the finish (talk about it later). THE DRIVE: You are moving your back before your legs are coming down. THE FINISH: Your legs are not fully extended and your shoulders are tight. Relax your shoulders and flatten your legs. THE RECOVERY (most important for technique): Your legs are coming up first and that is a HUGE mistake. Get your arms away first, then swing your back up and then bring your legs up. Your hands should be over your ankles (doesn't matter how tall you are) before you bring your legs up. This will allow you to be in the right position at the catch and you will be more explosive. Hope that helps.
Great video though and good luck!

Hello Mr. Marshall...I aspire to be a track and field athlete as well... But have a question for you. How do you get all the doubt out of your head, and how do you deal with people that are on your tail waiting for any moment to make you feel small? I feel as though right now in my life I not only let my coach down, but I let myself down. I was at a point where I was in tip top shape, did all my training before the season even began, and my coach had high hopes for me. Suddenly out of the blue I got really sick and was gone for at least 3 weeks in and out of the hospital. After a while I got better with approximately 2 and a half weeks to get back in shape. 2 weeks went by and I wasn't showing much progress. The season has been going on for a while now and i'm not nearly to where I used to be. And currently there are so many naysayers in my life so much competition trying to knock me down. The only thing carrying me on right now is my will, I have a burning desire to be one of the greats, but i'm not patient with myself seeing where I was, and where I am now. I put in all the work just to lose it in the end. I don't know what to do anymore. I need advice...

+Andrew kear thanks for leaving a comment Andrew! Sorry for taking so long to respond. I, along with many other people, have gone through my fair share of setbacks as well. I think the best piece of advice I could give you is actually a video I made recently. It's called "Ambition Over Adversity" on my channel. The main idea is simple, but not easy to execute. In athletics, in school, in life, you will undoubtedly face doubt, doubters, naysayers and general adversity. You have to get to a place mentally where your AMBITION always reigns supreme over your adversity regardless of the external circumstances. You have to have a deep, intrinsic desire to achieve your goals and then you must have the determination and resiliency to work hard day in and day out to achieve them. As Eric Thomas might say, if it was easy, everybody would do it. Ask yourself, "Do I have the AMBITION to overcome all of my adversities and adversaries?" Only you can answer that question and have the discipline to trust and follow the process. Also, dealing with naysayers is easy: you will get to a point where you are so focused on your grind that there will be no bandwidth left in your conscience to even hear what they have to say.

ET is the best, NO COMMENTS. This dude makes me cry bro, for real, he knows how to get to people's heart. I respect everyone's opinion but this video does NOT deserve a dislike. I believe all the 74 dislikes come from people who have failed and don't want to fight back. ET is like Superman for me, I wanna meet him face to face.

put your back against the wall when you do those dumbbell curls man. all that swinging motion is cheating youll get better results from putting all the effort in getting the weights up on your forearm and bicep muscles and getting rid of al the momentum making it easier.
