I picked this bike up a few days ago. I was actually ready to buy the Aventon Level 2 when I saw the Mokwheel Asphalt ST right next to the Aventon. So I test drove both and liked the Mokwheel better without knowing the price. Its fantastic and at $1,500 its a steal.
Likes:
1. Torque peddling. I had it up over 25 mph at PAS 1 peddling pretty hard. What I like is unlike other methods (like cadence) the harder you peddling the faster you go regardless of the set PAS level. If I set it to PAS 3 I get to 25 mph with less effort PAS 1. That's the difference. Honestly, torque peddling is genius.
2. Its very stable and well built. No wobbling. Even at 30 mph it feels safe.
3. Ergonomics. At first I thought I would not like the handle bars but after riding it around on the test drive I came to appreciate how comfortable it felt.
4. Its fast. If you want it to be. If not you can adjust the settings to limit speed.
5. No herky jerky with the motor. Its very smooth.
6. Color display. I will never go back to black and white.
7. Lights - powerful headlight, great rear lights and breaking lights. All integrated and powered by the battery.
8. It has a built in horn!
Improvements:
1. The gears work great but I would absolutely recommend Mokwheel adds an 8th gear, or more.
2. Nothing else. Its really that good.
Great bike. Highly recommend.
Nice! Im riding daily and love it.
The roads in downtown, Toronto are so terrible that I just kept my bike in storage 😀.It's a normal bike only. I tried the zygg ebike which I took for rent and it was a nice experience on these roads. Lot of people are also using rented Zoom ebikes for food deliveries. Nice ebike review and Thank you so much 😊👍
Thanks for sharing😊
Superb review. It looks like an excellent powdered bike and it’s obvious you are delighted with it and I can see why! You packed an incredible amount of detail into the review which is very helpful. Interesting to see you using “extras” to show of the bike too. Safe cycling - enjoy!
Thank you!
Thanks for all the information!
Very detailed video, great job!
Glad it helped!
look at those crispy shots! niiiiiice
I trust your review , thank you I'm in Ohio we have better roads , going to get one for the summer
Great review. You mentioned a top speed of 39km/hr. Is that after unlocking it? If so, I believe it should go to 28 mph / 45 km/hr on throttle as a Class 3. Thoughts? ... Would love to see a follow-up review. Good job!
There’s a screw underneath the headset that you did not mention, and if it’s not tight, the handlebars will move forward and backward very dangerous.
Excellent review. Another nice feature are the hydraulic brakes, so no cables to stretch or adjust. I switched the chainring to 52 teeth to minimize ghost pedaling. Looking forward to your review after a thousand miles or so. Put a helmet on that melon!
Can you elaborate on you switching the chain ring to 52 teeth?
Have you cycled without throttle or pedal-assist? Does rhe bike feel too heavy to do that? Or is it smooth?
Also, I can't find it in stock, unfortunately.
I agree Mokwheel is great product
Yes i love it
Is the battery UL listed or certified?
Great review.....wanted to hear your feedback on the torque sensor but you dont pedal 😅
Haha it's true but I have to say it's smooth.
11:50 if the stock battery is 13s (48v) don't change this voltage setting, you can change it if you switch to a battery that is either 10s (36v) or 14s (52v). You would also want to check that the controller and motor are rated to run at these voltages.
good call out! ty
In Toronto, can not find the Asphalt on Mokwheel's Canadian website.
Weird did they remove it
How is it for the canadian winter? Like the electric motor loss of power. I suppose you'll be testing it when winter's coming?
I will probably avoid during extreme snow
You won’t have motor loss….. you will lose alot of range …. Batteries hate the cold… just leave your phone outside for a bit in cold weather and you will see a huge lost
I ride my e-bike in snow & crappy weather with no issues. It is not this one, but a cheaper e-bike with thin tires.
What size bike is this you know I don’t think you ever said what size frameless was.
Should be the larger one
Questions: Is that the large frame bike? How tall are you? I ask because I am 6'2" and you look like you probably have the seat post extended all the way up, yet you have quite a bit of knee flexion at the end of the downstroke.
I'm 6'2 as well. Yes, the seat could have a taller post. I cheat a bit and go beyond the limit a bit. I'd get the larger one if you're that tall.
Ebikes are only worth buying if the manufacturer sells OEM battery replacements, because 3rd party batteries have safety risks, unfortunately mokwheel doesn't sell any batteries for this model in both in US and canada mokwheel sites, and the Asphalt ST link leads to a "not found" page so it's probably discontinued.
Can the rack be easily removed?
It's possible, but can't confirm.!
Really don't like that it doesn't have monthly installments and can't be used for 5 or 6 months due to winter as road salt can rust it, would recommend the budget jetson bolt pro because its sold locally so returns would be easy. Edit typo
I use my e-bike all year in Toronto, no issues with rusting.
How much the weight of the bike?
62 lbd
The biggest problem where I live is bike theft, in a few seconds even with a lock the bike is gone - need a bike I can throw on my back when shopping 👍
I never lock for more than 5 minutes
To go faster trick the computer, instead of your wheel size of 27.5 input it to 29” wheels.
Haha it's plenty fast and powerful for urban city downtown traffic!
Actually that would make it go slower. It would make the computer think your going faster than you are which would kick in the limiter sooner. And if you remove all the limits it would falsely indicate you were going at a faster speed.
The color is mocha

Great video, I love my Tor Plus #Mokwheel
