Rick's got such a crazy collection of guitars, and many incredible vintage guitars too. I remember when i first saw Cheap Trick in 1977 when they opened for KISS at the Cow Palace in San Francisco, and Rick had almost all his guitars lined up on stage in front of his sound city cabniets. And i thought, wow that guy has lots of guitars, and he played every one of them too that night!!! 👍🎸
@ 1:02, The Aldo Nova Les Paul with Explorer head stock. Very nice. For those who didn't know, Aldo had this designed for him to eliminate tuning problems commonly associated with the traditional Les Paul head stock. According to Aldo, It worked.
I'm curious who was building Rick's custom Hamers during the period when there really was no Hamer shop. Especially after 2007. Was Morahan doing his custom work? Or did Fender do it all bespoke after the acquisition.
I remember when the Checkerboard Explorer and 5 neck used to be black and white. They have really yellowed over the years

AWESOME!
Great Gear rundown. Thanks!
I can not be sure but it sounded like Keith Merrow was the interviewer behind the camera.
+Emrah Cakir Yes it is

Aldo didn't know what he was talking about.
How do you move that 5 neck guitar from gig to gig?
"With extreme difficulty!"
I have no idea why Kahler bridges aren't more popular. I love mine!
The irony is that the 5 neck can play five songs on it, but you can only hold it for one! God bless Rick and the fellas.
And probably plays one chord on each neck
So.....'59 model, '78 model, Slash's set and a Dimarzio/Seymour Duncan PAF. Oh and Pearly Gates..
R.I.P. Larry.

Good old Merrow filming
Rick has some really strange guitars...
Cool guitars. NOT strange guitars. You're strange for thinking that.
