Can't wait for the day Arcadia start making Frontier, and Delta VFs. Come on Arcadia, im already in my 40s. I dont have much time left!! I want to see Arcadia VF-25, 29, 31 sometime this lifetime.
Just ordered myself a VF-0D premium finish based off your review! If i liked the VF-4 more I'd prolly be more interested. Got the PF for a pretty good price so I'm happy
I've never heard of flashback. I'll have to check it out. I pretty much just watch Macross Plus and zero over and over again. not really into a lot of the other stuff because of all the concert singing.
i get this is the production model, but they should have added hardpoints for missiles as artwork of the VF-4 shows it being tested with reg valk armaments'
If they could make those wing cowlings rotate and raise at the wings, that would give a more dynamic battroid shoulder joint. I don't think that would have been that difficult for them to have done.
To be fair, a macross book from Japan I bought back in 1987 states that despite not being shown in the OVA, the Vf-4 did, infact, have/had a transformation. Also, I just glued all the missiles on.
I will scout around for a little less than a Zentraedi bum-rush price, and then I will make sure to nab this. This is the scale and color scheme I have always wanted (limited shoulders notwithstanding).
Thx for great review! The model is sexy but too flat in this version. Do you know how to apply the stickers? And above all how to find references for all these stickers?
I kind of wonder if your comments are as blasphemous as you think. Notice how the VF-4 was "not" the aging mainstay fighter to be phased out in Macross Plus/Macross 7.
only the bandai 1/72 vf 31 is worth considering, the vf 25 is too flimsy and fragile. if you just want fighter mode, hasegawa has huge range of option, but they are more like military model kits, lots of painting and detailing work.
@@adamhajdu that's on how 31 is designed, the plane basically detach itself in half before reattaching to form battroid mode, the bandai 1/72 at least stay locked in their mode after you finished transforming, the same could not be said for the 25. I say this as someone who owns both 1/72 vf 31 and vf 25
What did actually happen to Yamato anyway? I never did hear the story there. As for this, the design struck me as a transitional one between traditional weapons platform and legit mecha. So I'm ok with the stubby arms and all that. But we're all here for fighter mode anyway :)
Thks for this exellent review has always for me as u said it s a beautifull toy but i prefered stay on the HIM version I prefer the head of skull leader roy version too but for sure it s a beautifull piece of art :)
Am I the only one who thinks this toy would be cooler if it did NOT transform? ...and maybe that effort was, instead, spent on exposed tech panels and just making it feel nice and balanced?

One question if you have to pick one macross figurine, just one, which one do you pick?

Thanks for making the comparison with the HMR version. It really helped me to decide if I wanted the Arcadia since I already have the HMR.

Sick was just getting into macross and watched flashback last night
Welcome to the community good sir

@@Mike-rt2vp very fair
Interesting. In battroid mode, the style of the arms is very reminiscent of the Orguss!
Such a handsome looking mech and aircraft, brother!

The arcadia yf-19 is getting a reissue and a premium finish version

I ended up just getting the HMR for the VF-4 for my display. I like it, but not a huge fan of the VF-4
So, the VF-4 is really to be equipped with a VF-1 gunpod? Or is just fan service from Yamato?
Where does he get these things??

Would love to see this in Milia paint scheme, but not holding my breath.

Arrrgghh..They STILL didn't put a locking tab on the front gear! Frustrating! Man...those knees do seem very weak. Great review as always!
I preorderd this. It is a great toy
Hey, I'm thinking about to buy some macross model kits but I didn't find good quality reviews on UA-cam. Can you review some model kits too?
Sorry, I focus on the toys because I don't have the time or talent for models. Wish I had more of both!
@@ScorchedEarthToys No problem, thank you anyway.

@@quasadra I like the look of vf-31 but I haven't see a video when it is not falling a part during the transformation :(

hey guys looking for a metal gear rex half size figure
"cheaper" except HiMetal price got inflated so much that most of us would prefer buying the actual DX toys.
Am I the only one who thinks this toy would be cooler if it did NOT transform?

Yes.
Other than fighter mode, this design is terrible.
Agreed. Thank goodness later designs were better
Both of you are insane. This is the pinnacle of Macross Valkyrie design.
@@fredleggett923 Everything after the VF 1 has been a disappointment.
