Just over a week ago Carlos Locklyn took an opening on Ryan Day's staff, and Dan Lanning and the Ducks moved quickly to find his replacement.

I really like this hire... It's stronger than just a good RB coach as well .... Not just that he's such a strong recruiter especially in Texas... But by accounts he's also an additional strong overall offensive mind.... Another asset in the brain trust. I see him as having more duties and capacity than just running backs and than just recruiting RB's. If Will Stein ends up getting a head coaching job in the next couple years..... I could see them hiring Samples for the position, from within the program.... Edit: ah... Spencer had the same thought! 😎

I like Dan's strategy of hiring "Up and comers" on his staff. They have more to prove. Versus lifelong Position coaches who are collecting a check

Could be some fans feel the need to put themselves in the middle of something they don’t know much about. Similar to me trying to help Dana coach from the second level!
