Great camera work, get in close to the teeth, keep focus, just great work! The young lady that accompanies you, asks great questions, like if the tapping to raise dimples weakens the saw. Every time she really seems to understand the process, the manufacturing, even material science. You've got the best wingman possible!
Hello, The Carpentry Life-San. I have been looking for a video of Japanese hand-hammered saws. And I was able to watch the best videos. You have been uploading videos about hand-made chisels and planes. This is my favorite. Thank you.🔨🫶
I am impressed by the skill and knowledge required to produce these saws, and also the application skill and training to use the finished product. I would like to see a feature on the production of beams used in building construction. For what I have seen of building construction in Japan, it seems that all beams are interlocking, secured by wood dowels. Such construction requires great precision for each part.
I was just thinking you hadn't had a video for a while and here you are -= I guess I should think that more often 😁 ...I was figuring summer was busy construction season and things will slow a bit as it gets cooler - hope you have a chance to make a few more before you get busy again 😃
Another great video, would be great if you posted the address of each artisan so others ( me ) could visit and buy direct from these craftsmen. Keep them coming 👍👍👍 Karl
28:30 what he described is called peening. The hammer creates tiny stresses on the surface of the material that causes it to bend, it also hardens the surface.
Japanese craftmanship is the top of the pinnacle of all trades
So very pleased to see you back , and with another exceptional craftsman demonstrating his skill. Thankyou.
I like this, please make more
Thanks so much for this amazing documentary. Japan is privileged to possess so many true craftspeople.
Excellent video! What a treat to watch master blacksmiths at their trade.
I could spend a week in this shop - to me this would be vacation in paradise!!
Glad to see another video!
Amazing behind the scenes! Thank you!
Just watched your channel yesterday and I was really sad. Haven't posted in months. Glad to see you back😊
I agree , needs more videos but also needs to reply to messages that are sent to him :(
I’m pleased to see you both again 😊 Thank you for sharing Mitsukawa-san’s craftsmanship! Beautiful.
That's increadible, the amount of complexity that goes into making these, and also the many types of saws that produce different results. just wow.
Tip noch video many thanks sharing it with us :)
Good to see you back, been missing your content.🙏
Brilliant! 👍 Thankyou 🙂🖖
I love these videos wish you could do more
I'm always amazed by how the Japanese do things. Every little detail is taken into account.
