For Jerry obsessives this interview is such a goldmine. Its such distilled Jerry. The words that are coming out of his mouth are so clear and humble but the delivery is so haughty and condescending. He knows what he has to say and he's saying it but he wants us all to know that he's really a genius. I can see Martin Short taking notes, just great Jerry shit.

Jerry has to be one of the most smartest person in the world. I love him dearly as much as a fan can and he is right, once a fan always a fan, My first grandson is going to learn all about Jerry and Dean...

Thank you for posting this. 👏My only reference to Jerry Lewis, growing up, was seeing him on 60s US TV shows performing his ditzy persona. In the UK American top stars were glamourous & appealing to us. I didn't know he was teamed with Dean Martin for years & how successful that partnership was. I'm reading Jerry was loved by many, but not all. Seems his dysfunctional early years had driven him to be such a genius performer & the desire for attention & love was the motivator. I am enjoying with relish these videos & fall on the side of absolute admiration & respect for him. He was flawed (aren't we all?), egotistical etc, but also intelligent, philosophical, talented beyond belief, generous & good hearted, I feel. The entertainment world would be all the poorer had he not been the great star 🌟 that he was. R.I.P. Jerry.

I remember in the eighties after the Saturday morning cartoons went off, they sometimes follow up by showing a Jerry Lewis movie. My siblings and I thought that he was so hilarious. I recently rediscovered him.

Excellent interview. Jerry is a genius and David knows how to ask a question and listen. Today people talk all over the person they are interviewing. Love his movies. While watching Martin and Lewis, it was evident Jerry was very special as an entertainer and a person

My father went to High School with him in Irvington. He was a goofball and often got beat up. My father thought he was annoying. But he used what he had. From home movies and stories my dad told me, neighborhood was all working class Jewish and they weren’t rich but they had a lot of family around. Neighborhoods were true neighborhoods.

@@cynful66 How sad. He said he was called 'Id' short for Idiot back then at school. He also took stick for being Jewish, but defended himself and fought back. He apparently once got in trouble for locking himself in the classroom cupboard and was told by the teacher that he would 'never amount to anything'! Jerry also had a job selling ice-creams inside a pharmacy and after he became famous, he revisited the place. When he jumped out of his open top car all the kids came running and he took over the ice-cream stand, handing out free ice-creams and generally messing about. From the back of the store his old boss shouted "Jerry, you will pay for all of that!" As he left, Jerry took out a big wad of notes and handed it to him.

    👍 Very Talented person! 🎬
A sensitive soul that knows who he is. Also, it's good to remember that ...
    🎬🌟God gave him his talent🌟🎬
...and good for Jerry for using it!
Was glad to hear Jerry mention his Creator. Most 🌟s DONOT.
    🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
One of my favorite comedians growing up!
On another note, I wonder why Jerry left his sons out of his will, and later on, turned his back on his ex wife (Patti) who was on the verge of being homeless, had it not been for their one son taking his dad to court. How selfish we can sometimes be, huh?
    😔
Furthermore, Jerry's sons grew up with their dad, and he had a hand in raising them. That said, Jerry, his wife and his kids, certainly WERE NOT, AND ARE NOT in the minority when it comes to dysfunctional American families; dysfunction is the 'norm,' and has been for many years. This is just how I've come to see it and experience it. You may disagree of course.😊 Thank God for the few happy families...
    wherever they may be. 🌏🌟

Telegram for LEWIS. LEWIS! LEWIS! telegram for LEWIS. Where is LEWIS? I think he is under a loose chicken salad sandwitch, making a deal with some singer. Jerry bought Sassy Sally a place on the corner of Fremont and Las Vegas Boulivard in Las Vegas. Sally is a lady of charm. One of the Veas tycoons put a gloden nuget at her front door. I worked for Sally for a while, and I remember Jerry rode his bike to work everyday and kept the bike in the wings of the Bally Grand Theater, while he Bellhopped. He (Jerry) rang his bike's bell,
when he got off work, but the performers who were on the stage performing did not yield, and they almost got run over. Jerry, being the biggest star known to humanity always got interview, like this one, as seen here. Interviewers would do most anything to get an interview with Jerry. Therefore I thought Jerry would be yelling out to the interviewer's staff and co-workers, "GREEN SIDE UP," "GREEN SIDE UP" ever couple minutes, during the interview. The media surely was there, laying "sod" in order for them to get this interview with Jerry; The "sod" should be laid with the "GREEN SIDE UP." HOPE YOUR YARD Turned out O.K.. Jerry We understand, it is not always easy to get multi-skilled interviewers. But Jerry, you pack so much talent in you, I do not think anyone noticed the short comings of the interviewer's staff. [NOTE: The above writing is just a ficticous story for entertainment humor]. The follwing is FACT: The parts written above, that references Jerry being the biggest of STARS is true; Jerry is rightly upheld in HONOR, and Jerry is exremely well achieved for promoting good humor as a vital part of human development. A balance of pleasure (liberty/good humor) with survival (work/pursuit) is an essential need of life which must be met. Jerry's work will forever be referenced for Jerry's accomplishments in entertainment and for Jerry's dedication and loyalty while promoting research for physical and mental health. Jerry's work has made a differenc in the medical sciences and the entertainment arts. People are just proud that such a human being does exist, and We are always pleased when we are able to hear about him, or when we just palin think about him in our thoughts, as we go through our everyday life. Jerry is made of the moral fiber of the greatest people of all human kind. GOD want existence to be GOOD (Divine) and GOD wants existence to be right (correct), and GOD knows that "please" and "thank you" does not always get the job done. Bless You Jerry.
