I'm 53 years old, and I used to love this cartoon. I would definitely watch a reboot. Now all you have to do is reboot MEGAS XLR, and I'm good to go.

Me and my brother loved this show. He went on to learn guitar and for my birthday one year he learned all the riffs and shredded the theme song at my party. It was one of the best days of my life. (Just had my 25th birthday!)

I've said this before, but Commander Farrell is kind of like a anthropomorphic feline version of J. Jonah Jameson. If you're wonder the latter is, he's Peter Parker's boss at the Daily Bugle who despises masked vigilantes (especially Spider-Man). I wonder if deep down, Farrell thinks that Chance and Jake are the SWAT Kats. However, I'll bet he's probably fired many stellar employees like the main characters as civilians. Although, it's never been stated I've seen characters like him such as the aforementioned Mr. Jameson, Mr. Burne Thompson/Mrs. Bernadette Thompson, and maybe to a lesser extent Mr. Perry White.
This cartoon appealed not just to kids, but also to adults like myself, because of the realistic drawings and excellent characters. I discovered this show by accident in 1993, was flipping through the TV stations when I saw these two cat people flying around in a fighter jet, shooting at monsters. I thought, "Well this sure is different.." so I continued to watch the episode. Never missed a show since then, mainly because of Callie Briggs, of course! I'm so glad that the Tremblays want to bring the show back, hope they are successful!!

Swat Kats is one of my favorite Cartoons of all time. I watch it over and over. It's a shame it was ever cancelled. Great characters, voice acting, action and story arcs.

Gamer Wardog That would be interesting and I am sure there are enough fans who would appreciate it. To be honest I don't think even Swat Kats will come back but I am very hopeful.

UPDATE: Unsurprisingly, Cartoon Network passed on picking up SWAT Kats: Revolution; although, the Tremblay Bros. did convince the network to bring SWAT Kats back to Boomerang. The Tremblay Bros. still retain the rights to SWAT Kats, and are currently looking at Video-on-Demand, or online streaming as potential options. They both claim to be too tenacious to give up bringing their favorite creation back.
I hope Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon would pick this up. Netflix had 2-3 Voltron remakes in their library over the past 3 years, and that in itself shows that there is interest in action cartoon remakes from the viewing audience. I'm definitely not surprised that CN didn't pick it back up, with shows like Adventure Time and Steven Universe appealing to the more social-media-savvy younger generation. I really wish I knew about the Kickstarter last year, though...I would've definitely contributed.

Something just occurred to me. Why is it that T-Bone and Razor wear SHOES when they're in civilian but are barefoot when they put on their flightsuits? Took me years to realize this
I think cuz it's easier for them to climb and stuff without the shoes maybe?They ARE cats after all.Also who knows maybe they don't want to leave footprints behind,because maybe through that way,peeps can figure out who they are.

Theres only one downside to the wearing no shoes. Their flight suits dont have tight legs on them. They would pass out from G forces.
It makes sense to me with t bone he flies the jet and I feel like I have more control of my vehicles barefoot then in shoes

This WAS the best show of its time and remains one of my favorites, Swat Kats is the perfect blend of story, characters, comedy and kicking butt!

Straight from the mouths of Christian Tremblay and Lance Falk, this is what SWAT Kats Revolution will be about: 20 years after the events of SWAT Kats, Chance (T-Bone) and Jake (Razor) still work in the salvage yard trying to pay their debts. They still are the SWAT Kats, but they are no longer as effective as they once were because they can't upgrade the TurboKat's avionics using the military salvage, while a tech-boom enables the Enforcers to upgrade their technology to the point that they are more effective than the SWAT Kats. (Christian describe it as thus: The SWAT Kats are using the original Windows, while the Enforcers are using Windows 10.) One day, however, a female hacker breaks into the SWAT Kats's hanger. She agrees to keep Chance and Jake's identities secret if they allow her to join them. They agree, so she uses her connections to upgrade the TurboKat and glovatrix so that the SWAT Kats can get back in the game. The Tremblay Bros. promise more character-centric episodes, including an unrealized story-arc from the original show that involves the SWAT Kats meeting Chance's amnesiac father.
So is this a legitimate fact?

Fond memories of this series, I sure as hell hope it makes a comeback, I would love to watch the Swat Kats with my kids! Here's hoping that the Pirates of Darkwater makes a comeback also! Another classic blast from the past!

I was born in the same year as swat kats made their debut on television, swat kats series has been an epic & would be in future as well indeed and I thanks to Tremblay bros they bring the show back for us and as per my opinion should make movie in future if possible.
I loved these guys.... I am eagerly waiting for the revival of my childhood heroes....
One of the greatest shows from the 90s, never missed an episode, the soundtrack, the setting, the characters, the voice acting, etc, all of it was awesome. I really hope they bring it back soon.

I didn't know that Swat Kats were outsourced in Japan.
Part of the animation of Season 1 of SWAT Kats was done in Korea, but all of the animation of Season 2 was done in Japan. The Japanese animation company that did it was Mook Animation, which would go on to produce the animation for the straight-to-video Scooby-Doo movies in the late '90s and would be the primary producer for the animation for Transformers: Animated.
I am so glad for this review! SWAT Kats were one of the few cartoons that I let my son watch. He was 2 at the time and it was one we used to sit and watch. It's also my favorite! My husband says they aren't superheroes, but you outlined WHY they're superheroes! I am so proud to have been part of the kickstarter. (I even have my roller derby helmet painted like the SK helmets and one of the announcers referred to my possible derby name as 'Swat Kat'.) Second season was my absolute favorite because of the new, updated, out of this world radical art! I loved the chemistry of friendship between Jake and Chance.

+tazia hall honestly I don't see how she looks any more human than Callie or Turmoil. Most of the women on SWAT Kats look more human than the guys. I don't see her looking more masculine as a problem personally. You just sound like you like girly girls
+Beta Rugula *shrug* My opinion; is liking more femme character designs a bad thing? I find it depends on who's drawing her because Felina looks more femme sometimes than others so it ain't so bad. But overall I hope the overly human features get fixed in the new one. The females look like they belong in a completely different show. Just integrate the cat features more :-)
+tazia hall I agree, Callie looks very human but still looks cartonish, her face proportions are way off, and her cuteness seal the deal. Felina looks too realistic. In a cartoon about humans, I would say she would look feminine enough, but in this cartoon she looks a little out of place. Specially besides an old, fat cat like the Major.
I was so excited to hear about the Kickstarter years ago. It took them 5 years or so to get it made, so we know they’re patient and won’t accept anything less than their vision. Get it done, guys!
When I was little I only saw one episode of this show but I remember being interested in the characters and story. Sadly I never watched another one because my family and I moved out. Today I actually like this show and I'll definitely support its return with you guys. Great video btw (:
Incredible. I'm psyched to see them come back. I totally agree with the analysis - it was ahead of its time in terms of storytelling, animation and score. And anyway, can anyone name a more badass intro theme for a cartoon? No.

In my thirties now, but I remember waking up early to catch this on TV. LOVED it. Pity it was cancelled so soon. REALLY looking forward to this. Hope it lasts longer than its predecessor did.

I loved this show as a kid. It used to be on tv right after school. So I'd rush home and have lunch in front of the tv, watching Swat kats. And today it's an animated series I'd gladly watch as an adult over a few beers. Why?

I was so happy to see the Tremblay Bros decided to make a revival to one of my favorite cartoons in my childhood and a sequel series no less! And they kickstartered it on my birthday as well! It must be frickin' fate! xD
I'm so looking forward to the show's continuation. I hope it explore more on the mysteries the last show has left behind. Out of many expectations I have for the revival, it would be more Felina-action (hopefully having her own adventures) and adding another race to the show, like dogs.

I owned a swat kats SNES game as a kid and I started looking it up interested in the artwork. You've really sold me on giving the series a watch and excited me for the idea of a reboot or continuation coming in the future.

Nice review, been awhile since i saw an episode of this. One scene remains engraved in my head and i wish it was included in the review. Dark Kat drops a nuke in the middle of the city, Razor gets on it in mid-air and says to himself " remember, cut the red wire" when he opens the panel he finds all the wires are red then yells out " AH DARK KAT YOU MISERABLE PSYCHO!"
This entire commentary got me more psyched for the revival.... It's been a while since any genuine update and headway for what to expect.... Hopefully there's something substantial soon

Yes that is the Joy/The Boss. Felina Feral is voiced by actress Lori Alan. Surprisingly how she and The Boss look similar in their BDUs

I was born 2 years after Swat Kats and I used to watch it all the time on Boomerang and it was the most awesome cartoon about talking cats I've seen (second to Thundercats) and I am so freaking excited for the continuation
