Farm lives with the single Mega Man era Batton enemy by shooting it or colliding with it while you are using the charged rolling shield (it has a high rate of dropping extra lives) and then walking away so it respawns off screen. Go to the end, get the hadoken, exit the stage, and then immediately go back to the beginning and farm lives again.

I never loved this game and wondered to this day why I spent so many hours beating games in this series. The story was slightly better, and it wasn't even consistent. Yeah I know, no one cares. Just IMO. Cool trick though!
X4 is the only one I was able to find 100% of the secrets and gear without a Tips & Tricks magazine. The design for it was only surpassed by the soundtrack.
this game doesnt suck! i spent many hours hacking cheats for this game. i increased values for the charge blast and found many fun variations. infinite dash, infinite jump etc
Megaman x is one of my absolute titles. The addition of the charge shot, wall grab and having slide be set to a button took the old megaman to a whole new level!

I was gonna comment this. However dieing is faster as you don't have to replay the first half of the stage each time just the sled ride.
