Note: The Hadouken can only be fired at full health, but it will one-hit kill any enemy besides the final boss.

And remember back in the day we would either read the magazines for the clues on how to accomplish the types of things or buy the secret manual to find the things that we hadn't been able to figure out how to do in these games and read it from cover to cover

I remember playing this game as a kid I stayed the night over at a friend's and we spent the whole night working together to try and beat the game only for the power going out because of a storm.
Also, all these years, and I somehow never realized Dr. Light is dressed as Ryu. That's so great!

Please note you don't have to die, you can just exit the stage normally.
I was gonna comment this. However dieing is faster as you don't have to replay the first half of the stage each time just the sled ride.
I always use the exit in the pause menu. Don’t want to waste shiny mega man
@@drazel1the batton in the same stage has an insanely high drop rate for 1 ups. Dying is the way.

Start the stage. Don't use the first cart. Farm lives with the single Mega Man era Batton enemy by shooting it or colliding with it while you are using the charged rolling shield (it has a high rate of dropping extra lives) and then walking away so it respawns off screen. Go to the end, get the hadoken, exit the stage, and then immediately go back to the beginning and farm lives again.
That game was a masterpiece, you take that back

Gen X. Played almost every system ever... back to pong, Vextrex, Atari, Amiga, Tandy, etc. Until today's stuff. All that just to say, TOTALLY AGREED! I never loved this game and wondered to this day why I spent so many hours beating games in this series. The story was slightly better, and it wasn't even consistent.

You don’t need to beat the Sigma stages to unlock it just the eight mavericks

this game doesnt suck! i spent many hours hacking cheats for this game. i increased values for the charge blast and found many fun variations. infinite dash, infinite jump etc

Megaman x is one of my absolute titles. The addition of the charge shot, wall grab and having slide be set to a button took the old megaman to a whole new level!

X4 is the only one I was able to find 100% of the secrets and gear without a Tips & Tricks magazine. The design for it was only surpassed by the soundtrack.

All the levels before the one she's stuck on. Sigma stages come after the 8 maverick stages, so this still helps in that situation.

There's a big bat at the beginning of this level where you can grind lives because it has an increased chance of dropping them. That way you dont have to keep exiting.

I still have this game for the super nintendo. Mega man X will always be one of my favorites for the super nintendo. It's challenging but a fun game. I never beaten it before but I hope to someday.
I discovered this capsule on accident as a child. An when I pulled it off I thought I was dreaming for real. Lol
Small detail also for anyone that hasnt done this before and wants to try. You must have full hp to fire the hadouken, if you get hit you have to heal back up first.
Yeah, but it also kills everything in one hit. Except the final boss, I think. That, I’m pretty sure, is immune to the hadouken.
Unless you’re playing Maverick Hunter X, in which case you can totally one shot the final boss!

I never really got around to playing the X franchise when I was a kid. After trying them as an adult I can say I completely missed out.
