Welcome to my Samsung Galaxy S24 Unboxing, Setup, and Initial Review! I'm primarily an Apple Fan Boy and use iPhones mostly (and Google Pixels) but never really dived deep into Samsung phones for a long time.

You cannot move IMessages to an Android phone, Apple blocks that.
@SuperYankeechick Excuse me, but I believe there may be a misunderstanding. The individual in question was referring to the transfer of basic data, not specifically iMessages.

That's the whole point bro. That's why they gatekeep with iMessage and ecosystem. It's walled garden.
Smart Switch works very well when its two Galaxy devices. Transferring everything from my older S20 FE to the S24 Ultra took 45 minutes via USB. Apps, contacts, messages, notes, passwords, browser bookmarks, etc all transfer over without a hitch. Though going from Apple to Samsung seems painful, its probably Apple punishing you for making the switch lol😂

I transfer from my S23U to S24U, 165gb of everything, music, pictures, pirated movies etc. In 90 minutes. I also used a 3.2 USBC cable, much faster than the cable in the box.

Strange. When I transfered from 15 pro max to s24 ultra that app worked well for me. Did it wirelessly with no issues
I literally did the same thing with the S24 ultra from a 15 pro with smart switch and it worked just fine. My S24 ultra was at 49% wheel first opened to. Messages switched too.
Im surprised iMessages switched over to s24 ultra I tried to do this multiple times, it failed. Did it transfer 100% of your messages?

I badly want to get an s24 ultra but im too deep in the apple ecosystem (iCloud, Apple Watch, Mac, HomePods, Apple TV, all of apple services, apple one, Apple Card, i use keynote, pages, and numbers for my productivity) like it…extremely difficult to leave and yet i am so tired of iOS, everything else about the Apple ecosystem is great, im just tired of iOS specifically and i want to try the s24 ultra. I’d use it as my work phone as well but idk
huge ios update rumored this year. I know its rumored every year but this update could spice things up.

I had iphone and always showed me a different preview vs the final result
I think the transition being difficult is sort of intentional. Can’t fault one or the other for making it hard to switch over. I personally would love try a 24 ultra. I upgrade to the new smaller pro iPhone each year. I’d prefer a small 24 ultra with no pen. I take attention to detail over everything and one thing I don’t like is that Samsung still has aluminum buttons. If you’re going titanium, make all the outer pieces titanium. Other than that it looks really clean. But devices are way too big in general now. So I’ll stay with my 15Pro.

Did you change the resolution to 1440P or are you still at 1080P?
I changed it to the max Quad HD+ setting 😁
Dude, just open the camera and do circle to search. No need to take a photo.
Settings, display make sure phone is an Adaptive in motion smoothness.
Default is also set to FHD + in screen resolution. I keep it there for battery saving.
Settings, Device Care, set performance profile to lite.
Settings, Battery, turn on adaptive battery.
Try to drain your phone at least twice. It will improve your battery life.
There's no need to put it in FHD there are several test that confirms QHD does not drain battery, it even gives you better battery.

The transfer was seamless for me switch from another android. Everything transferred but for me, Even the placement of my apps and my all my messages.Leave it to apple to cause problems. They do want to keep you in their ecosystem. Of course, they're going to make it difficult to change
Yeah! I definitely believe the is the case regarding Android to Android transfers. I'll be keeping this S24 Ultra so I'll be able to experience that myself once I pick up a new Android phone in the future
Using both Android and iOS since almost 2 years.
1️⃣ When i bought the iPhone, i didn’t use this all apps transfer, i did everything by myself because i didn’t trust 100% and wanted to avoid those kind of issues.
2️⃣ The only issue i had to deal with was WhatsApp but now there is a special procedure for that, to keep original conversations.

Could you elaborate more on the special procedure for WhatsApp? That is probably my main concern with switching.
Is the corner of the Ultra version uncomfortable in your palm, especially when using it with one hand?
I keep seeing this brought up in videos but I don't really notice any issues with the corners
@@Greg_the_Hutt thank you appreciate your thoughts! The other day, I went to a Samsung shop & tried Ultra with one hand for 2-3 min & hurt a little. Maybe it's something you get used to.
Update coming in February 26 for camera, screen, and many other things. 7 years support so there will be plenty of updates to come.
Tried to make the switch from 15 pro max to 24 ultra, kept an open mind, but after using it for 2 weeks, I realized, social media apps ( especially snapchat ) are much more optimized for apple which is something I prefer. The lagginess in snap was absurd. The camera, the picture was never what you thought you took and the post processing was never on point, some pics were grainy and colours were off. Returned the samsung and sticking with Iphone for now.
Hi, great video. I would actually say the issue on transferring data from iOS to Android is already an issue. But I would put most of the blame on iOS. I say this because even going from iPhone to iPhone could take hours for such small amount of information. However Samsung Smart Switch is nothing but flawless and extremely quick when going from Samsung to Samsung phone. Cheers.

That's apple fault cause every time I transfer from Samsung to samsung less than 30 mins.. Apple makes everything harder while Samsung makes everything smoother and easy ! And apple didn't make titanium first so just putting that out there..
I also tried making the switch and use the smart switch. It took about six different tries and three different cables before it worked but eventually I got it all copied over. Including Imessages. After three days of use I got so annoyed at the the phone that I'm back on the Iphone. The non secure face id is a dealbreaker for me as I use it all the time.
Glad to see I wasn't alone!! And yeah, sadly I wish Android had comparable Face ID tech like on Apple. It's a real shame, as I'm not a fan of on-screen finger print readers
@TerrenRule you do get used to it, it is faster.
As far as Face unlock on the Samsung phone do one with regular lighting, do an alternate face with very low light.
Works for me almost all the time.
Try moving from a Samsung to an iphone via apple's Move to IOS app! That experience is 3 times more painful then what he did with smart switch!
transferinga everything from a android to samsung usually goes very fast. it must be apple who is purpously making it slow to transfer
Yeah I can imagine that Android to Android is lightening fast! It's definitely something going on when it comes to Apple to Android transfers and vice versa

The Ultra offers sooo much more usability and productivity options (DEX, multi-tasking, S-pen) than the iphone 15 PM. It offers a better gaming and multi-media experience (no missing chunk of the screen). What about all the AI features. Personalization is a 1000 x better than an iphones. Just watch this video about the ton of possibilities of changing the look and feel.

Returning my S24 Ultra in a few days and back to the 15PM. Software is still far away from the iPhone and the Camera is miles behind. Night Photos, Video, Selfies and more do not look comparable to the 15PM. Sad to see it.
That's fair! I will talk more about the cameras in my full review, but I can say definitively if you want to take the best videos, I still think iPhone is king
Android will never compare since Apple makes their own hardware and software. The optimization just can't be beat. Samsung needs to make their own operating system to even have a chance of truly competing with the iPhone.

So it took Samsung three months to build this phone with titanium to compete with the iPhone? People really need to use their heads. 💡 It was already premeditated for Samsung to build the Samsung S24U with a titanium frame, which takes six to twelve months to build for any phone. There is no way for either phone company to know precisely what is planned. It just so happened that Apple released its phone first, which has always been the case, to promote the titanium frame. You can really tell the difference between an Apple or Android user by the way they think! Lol 😂

I deeply doubt this is an general issue that sounds more personal. The phone large display is amazing for the videos and games also good for using many apps at once.
