Once you have the 16inch Mac. You never wanna go back to smaller MacBooks.
If you travel a lot or need something for a classroom, or take it for work 14 inch is good. I do that and use a docking station at home

Nah. I had a 15 inch MacBook pro for a while . Ended up going to a 14 inch M3 pro MacBook pro and happier.

True, since I switched to 16 inch in 2019 never went back to 13 or 14 inch. My upgraded MBP 16inch M1 Pro processor chose 16inch over smaller size. Screen size does matter. Only downside is the weight but I am all for it.
I have a 17" MacBook and i love how big it is, to me it feels like a real laptop whereas my 15" macbook feels more like a notebook because it's so light and much smaller than the 17" macbook, i can't even imagine how tiny those 12" macbooks are. It would be really cool to see a 17/18" M series macbook someday
I had a 16”, now I have a 14”. The smaller for me is the better choice. To each their own. Tomtoc 👍! I have a sleeve for my 14”.
I feel the other way around, 14 inch is just the sweet spot, and a smaller MacBook is better for travel.

I've had my current 17" laptop for more than 10 years and before this one I also had another 17" laptop so going to a 16" laptop would be smaller for me! I don't travel like I used to and when on a plane, I never really used my laptop. I love a large screen and as I get older, I like it even more!

Great insight! I’ll be doing web design, so they 16” seems ideal for me. I returned the 15” M3Air I had to save up for the 16” M3 Pro. I have the 27” Intel Mac to work on for right now.
This was such a good video for the situation I am in. I was so torn between then two and picked up a 14" M3 Max yesterday. I am still pretty torn. The 14" as a package is so clean and conveninent and is just easy to carry around and use on the couch. But I do find myself still thinking about the 16" since I am came from a 16" intel i9. I am going to edit a full video just on the 14", bring it to a bunch of places, and use it a ton during this 2 week return policy period and see how I feel. I saw that you put the 16" in a peak design backpack during the video. Is that the 30L or 20L size? I have a 30L and know the 16" will fit in there but I also want to get a 20L and am not sure how a 16" would fit in there. Obviously not a concern with the 14" haha. Great video, got my sub.
Great video brother! I upgraded from my 2019 Intel 15 inch MacBook Pro to the M3 Pro 16 inch MacBook Pro, and I love this machine! 16 inches isn't too big, it is perfect for photo and video editing.

It truly is! I liked the Intel Macs but these Apple Silicon Macs are next level! I am in college and Im using an M2 MacBook Air and that M2 is still better than the 2019 MacBook Pro lol

I recently purchased the smaller 2022 M2 chip Macbook air 13 inch I like the sleek design and the size very easy to travel with. I use a 35 inch curved monitor at home so I preferred the smaller one for travel ! also wanted that blue color 😉

I have been using 16” MBP since 2019 and recently get M3 Pro. I prefer 16” simply because larger screen real estate, better battery life and better cooling system.
I don’t necessarily use the built in keyboard as I am using Nuphy Air 75v2. As such, the built in keyboard is still in pristine condition 😂.
As for sound quality of 16” MBP, that’s just a bonus as I am rocking ANC headphone.
16” MBP is not double as far as weigh is concerned as compared to 14”. So, weight is not issue for me. 😂
I debated between the 14” and 16” before settling for the 16” myself. Mostly because of the price difference where I am. Paid about 3000$ for the base 16”. It really is heavy but it’s not like I carry it for extended periods of time. I rarely edit videos on it so haven’t really pushed it outside of when I tried playing resident evil 4 on it which was smooth but got warm and battery does not last long. For those that don’t have the space for a multiple monitor setup this is great. Can’t imagine having a smaller display than this and it’s fantastic for movies or general content consumption while traveling. So far what I absolutely hate is how nasty the keyboard gets and I for the most part use it with clean hands. Fits in most backpacks I own but it’s a challenge trying to find a nice messenger bag to fit it in that doesn’t scream I have very expensive gear inside. Trakke a small company from the uk have a bag called the Bairn messenger pro that looks amazing imo but apparently it won’t fit. If you made it this far suggestions please for a similar messenger bag aesthetically and build quality.

Gling! It's an AI video editing tool I use to quickly cut up my talking head and A ROLL footage prior to editing in Final Cut Pro! The link is in my description at the bottom :)
If you only carry one device, it is quite nice to bring the 16 inch MacBook Pro, but if you have an iPad and camera, that weight quickly adds up...
I am now using both m1 Mac mini with 32 inch 4k monitor and MacBook Air m1 on the go.
My plan in the future might be 14 inch MacBook Pro, while on the go, I mostly use Final Cut Pro for video editing, which can use the iPad as sidecar dual monitor set up. Though I might change my mind, that 16 inch screen is quite intriguing. Hopefully the next redesign model can reduce some weight if apple silicon can be more power efficient with less heat.

I’ve just upgraded to new laptop and studio Mac and display from 2014 iMac and 2015 MacBook Pro. I think the you tubers are blinded or spoiled a bit because they always have the latest tech. For anyone coming from type of machines it’s crazy how good they’ve become. I’m astonished by how good the new laptop speakers are! I’ve just spent my Saturday listening to music while setting up the machine. The screen is beautiful as well. I’m a little bit obsessed with the screen and my plan is not to close the lid! So it doesn’t get marked by the keys over time.. anyone else thought of doing that? It mainly just lives at home so should be doable

I might get a 16" MacBook Pro. Its on M3 now. I have the 14" MacBook Pro with M1 Pro. I don't know if I'll get the M3 Max though. Its more expensive and I'm a student. I also make content too when I can. The tables in college are tight though.
For content creators, honestly the M "Pro" family of chips is all you need! So I'd definitely encourage sticking with your current, or if you want a 16" cause of the benefits explained, stick within the same family and get M3 Pro!
@@TerrenRule I'd stick with the M "pro" chip. It has all the encoders it needs to batch process videos. The thing was, I'm shooting C4K60 videos and the M1 Pro chip had a hard time with playback.
What about in-bed experience? I have the maxed-out 14" M3 and I'm not sure having a 16" would be comfortable. (I'm 6feet+) Thanks.
