You couldn't do that round the streets of SE1 these days. Dempsey and Makepeace was fantastic for UK stuntwork and great location managers too found all the best derelict wasteland and archetypal run down London streets that even in 1985 were quickly getting gentrified. The production base was in Kennington. I remember the Transit jump was used in the LWT promos for The Burning (the feature length season 3 opener) on first transmission in '86
This was a superbly researched show. I interviewed Peter Brayham in 1997 concerning The Professionals and didn't realise he did any stunts on this. We have been working to release the an official version of the original soundtrack for about 20 years but it's complicated. Would nice good to get it out for the 40th Anniversary in 2025.
whoever made this absolutely excellent..who are swinging star productions and did they have anything to do with Dempsey and Makepeace the series or did they make this video posted
It’s really good how they do it they make it look so real it’s hard to tell when it’s not the actors x

Wonderful work Jon, a great memory jogger. Must watch some of the series again.

This video was Definitely worth waiting for! As far as stunts are concerned - Dempsey and Makepeace was the best British programme.
Nick Brimble. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. One of my all time favourite actors.
I loved Dempsey and makepeace back then still do.
Fantastic!! Great work Jon.
Fantastic stuff Jon, just wish there was Behind The Scenes footage.
great seeing the stunt team from dempsey and makepeace need to get those dvds
Sincronismo emotivo y empatico siguiente nivel de complicidad y compenetración e incondicional de este súper dos en uno
Every English stunt man worth mentioning of the 80's era worked on this show right? Looks very interesting
The 1st episode Steve Whyment did several stunts yet not credited for it?

Swinging Star were the company who made the extras on the Box set dvd, but I made this video. Harry & Me productions is me.
Nick Brimble also appeared on The Professionals and The Sweeney hot hot hot x
perfect action!
I always thought they did a lot of there own stunts x
I believe who Mickael Brandon and Glynis Barber was follow the training of gun, drive and sword
That's disappointing thought they did there own stunts x
