I only got switched on to Barry a couple of years ago (too late I feel). I don't understand much of his system, but every concept I do grasp (e.g. Barry's chromatic scale) makes more intuitive sense than all my theory books and is immediately applicable to real tunes. Astonishing when you think about it.
Pretty sure every piano player that he inspired thinks of him every time they play. What a great man he was…
