An improvisation should come from the millenary tradition of theme and variations. You start backwards, first the blurry presence of the theme and even humor, and at the end the theme. I appreciate that you are not just showing off scales and arpeggios without any relationship to the piece (like a Berklee indoctrinated robot), but it's always good to show your way to present the theme and then play with it. I also must say that the sound of the electric guitar is outstanding.

The Beatles used to do this tune when they played at The Star Club in Hamburg way back in 1962, before you gentlemen were even born. Funny thing time !.

That's a nice Höfner! What model is it? I owned a 1960 Höfner President for a long time, and managed to set it up with a nice low action, making it easy to play. It was an acoustic version, and although I tried a floating pickup, I could never achieve an amplified tone that I liked. The back and sides were maple, but the top was spruce, and being softer, had picked up lots of damage over the years.
