I did get the 17 HMR in the rifle length and ended up putting a carbon length buffer spring in place of the one they sent with it to eliminate the bolt bounce and keep the brass from trying to expand at the base where the primer sits and the sides of the brass. After doing that no more problems.
So, I just got my 22 mag upper from BCA, 10.5” length version, and they forgot to put the proprietary buffer and spring in there. So, annoyed, I just threw it on my KP15 lower with a standard carbine buffer and spring and it ran like a top. Shooting CCI 40gr Maxi Mags. Like, ejection is perfect. Not sending stuff into orbit, and not piddling out either. Anyone else try their upper with a standard buffer and spring?
@@damiangrouse4564 I went with the 16 inch upper and changed the spring to a carbon buffer spring and it runs great with no bolt bounce. I still use the buffer that came with the setup
Ronald, we do not make this upper, so I can't answer those questions. We just had it out when filming some other footage for product development on other platforms and thought people might enjoy seeing it.
Good video. There appears to be a significant amount of "bolt bounce" I'll be sure to not rapid fire mine now. Out-of-battery case ruptures are no bueno...
Is there anything for the bolt bounce for this 22 mag upper ? 0:59 I just put 50 rounds through of CCI maxi mags with no problems .

Recently got the .22lr..experiencing ftf..fte..and double fires occasionally..this from bolt bounce?.any solutions?.thanks
Try our pressure plug and firing pin. Double fires are probably from too weak of ammo. Try some HV.
Is it possible we’ll ever see a .17 cal pistol version ?
They have a .17 hmr upper
He wants it in a pistol version
@@billjensen6216 from what I hear they have a shorter than 16” upper

Besides the bolt bounce, could the magazine be causing the failer to feed?
All the bolt bounce 😁🤙🏼
Any updates on your tuning kit for this? I have one coming and will be wanting it from you.
We have a firing pin available at the moment. We're going to offer more parts soon.
@@BoreBuddyis there an issue with the OEM firing pin?
@@JimYeats It's soft steel and the striking surface is a bit too big. Ours is hardened steel and the strike is optimized.
@@BoreBuddy what firing pin would this be on the website?
what did you shoot the footage with?
How much….?
Is it available now…?

yeah it's available on the bear creek website, 350 free shipping I believe. I have one and it's super accurate and awesome, highly recommend
Why is bolt bouncing back after breech loaded?
That's just what happens. We have a solution for this, but have not released it yet.
@@BoreBuddy I'm excited to see what you have planned! 22 WMR is my favorite round!
Very normal for a blowback operated firearm.
@@billy56081 no lock up is not normal
A blow back operated firearm had no lock up. Do a search on google, blow back vs locked breach firearms.@@oops8985

You'd likely get a light strike if the hammer fell out of battery. Notice how the extractor strips off the round on the bounce.
thats wayyy to much bolt bounce . that my be the cause of some of the light primer strikes when you do a double-tap
2 failures to feed in 6 shots is not very reliable.
It's worn in now and now malfunctions are much more rare.
