How was the studs mounted? I have a 1975 trailer as well but is not like most homes I seen with bottom plate for stud wall 2×3s are notched out and mounted to side of rim joist
Trailer was bought for $33,000.00 with the land, it had the new roof and all new windows and all new doors when I got it. We spent around $2,000.00 on materials to finish plus my time. I got used appliances at one place for $500.00. It took about 2 months to complete with me alone working on it. Currently rented to a family for $700.00 a month, then been there now think 14 months and look long term. If I was to sell it today asking price would be in the high $60.000.00 range Thanks for watching and your comment hope this helps
Yeah that good tour I want start like this my first mobile home I will take time to fix any problems and I don't know how long it will take to finish I have job and I some lil to fix
You will find problems as you go but stick with and any help i can be i would be glad to help. I fixed many trailers. At one time i had 5 but found always jobs to do. I wish you all the best
That's a great house but from what I've heard these older mobile homes you have to be careful with asbestos and lead paint with older materials they're finding that they can cause cancer. I know some people that have lived in older mobile homes and have gotten cancer with in years of living in them . With the new mobile homes they build now a days i dont think have issues because they have changed the material they use in building them.
As with any renovation it comes down to cost and time, more time you take to complete the more cost it is. Learn to put up with certain things one cannot control. So time = cash cheers
The title is misleading because you don't actually see the renovation complete! I would have liked to have seen it finished. Did you do an after video?
My Memaw bought a very well made Fuqua single wide in the 70’s and I’m not sure if they’re discontinued. We’re buying new soon and I would love to know where I can find a FUQUA!!!! Any info is welcome and appreciated.

How was the studs mounted? I have a 1975 trailer as well but is not like most homes I seen with bottom plate for stud wall 2×3s are notched out and mounted to side of rim joist
The walls were fully taken apart and the 2 by 4 was put in normally you loose about 4 inches in space hope this answers your question oh a 1 by 4 was put down also on the floor to nail the studs in
It’s amazing what you can do with something old if you put some work into it.
