When I watched your previous video, I only listened to your voice and thought "Hmmm, that sounds a little like Alina." But the video title clearly stated it's your first time in Thailand. And then you're actually both together in the same video!!
2 beautiful Canadian ladies in Bangkok. Have a good time. Malls are owned by either central group or the mall group. Both companies are real estate developer listed in the stock exchange of Thailand. Actually, the largest shareholder are Thai wealthy familes, some of the super rich person in the world ranking by fortune 500.
Jim Thompson was disappeared on the Cameron Highland in Malaysia and many Thai believed that he was murdered in Malaysia too but their police just said he just disappeared. Jim Thompson came here to Thailand in 1945 after the WW2 just to fight with a Japanese army but after the US bombed Japan then his mission was also changed too and he started to love the Thai Silk. Thai people built that museam for him because they love Jim Thompson because he is the guy who helped the Thai people brought back the Traditional Thai Silk that nearly abandoned after the WW2 after very less Thai people were interested at the Thai Silk at that time because not worth it. Yes, he's like a hero of a Thai people especially for Thai traditional Silk and we Thai just gave him that Credit he deserved..
Wow thank you for sharing the video it's really feels so nice to watch you and I have never seen that kind of shopping mall in my life it is so stunning at ❤❤❤
Hello Petrena and Alena!!! I just so happen to have an answer for your curiosity about the funding of mall construction. All the malls are privately owned/operated and privately funded. All the malls starting with "M" sound as well as "The Mall" are owned by The Mall Group (think they are a public company-- i.e. listed on Thai stock market). I believe the main shareholding group are a lot of big local firms in both real estate, banks, etc.. The Central branded mall are funded by Central Group (also believed to be public company). Simple answer is yes, they are privately owned. Then there are other very large malls on the outskirt of Bangkok which is private as well. No idea on who owners are. However, I wouldn't be surprised if they are also owned/operated by same groups as the ones in the central business areas of the city. To my knowledge (hope I remember correctly), there were a few retailers owned/operated by foreign firms (through joint venture with local investors) like Carrefour, Tesco, Daimaru and Tokyu. They have since (many years ago) been sold to local businesses, name changed, as the original businesses shut down. The one foreign retail establishment that I still see in operation is the Max Valu Supermarkets which I believe is owned by the Aeon, a Japanese firm. All of my information here I found in local newspapers, as well as personal first hand experience. I hope this was interesting to you.
