Sufing's First World Championship Manly 64

Surfing's first official World Championship took place at Manly Beach in 1964. This is rare archival footage and photos from the event showing the World Championship final, Juniors, Tandem and Women's competition. This is one of surfing's most significant moments, with a huge crowd on the beach and the event being televised live.

Some rare footage. That was the same spot, I started to learn how to surf starting in 1970. Crazy and it's a small world after all. Doyle shot was classic and now I live in So Cal. Cheers.
