At first I thought it was weird that the audience wasn't laughing as much, but then I realized that THIS is how a normal conversation is supposed to look like. People shouldn't be laughing like idiots at every single sentence and even Jimmy didn't do his fake laugh here, it's just a real conversation. We're so conditioned to hearing fake laughter it's kind of creepy to be honest.
Deathshuck As a European I can confirm that. To me American talk shows are mostly weird. Also musical performances, where there is always someone from the audience shouting. I only clicked on this because I really like the actor.

Exactly! It’s weird people want approval on whether something is funny or not with audience laughter. It’s so forced. I guess it’s an american thing?
This is not a "normal conversation," though. This is a completely different setting/context, and the context of the conversation is that it is held in public, in front of an audience (both in the studio and at home), and is supposed to be entertaining. That is why almost every interview contains a "funny story" related to the guest.
No laughter is meant for serious topics, but laughter is expected, wanted, and the main goal when they are being humorous - which they were being here. Thus the lack of laughter here makes this an extremely uncomfortable watch, because they were clearly looking for a reaction, but got very little of it. Which made them both nervous - and awkward.
So, although I understand what you meant by the "creepy that we're conditioned to hearing fake laughter" comment, I wouldn't exactly go as far as to say that this, in and of itself, is very "Black Mirror-esque". Albeit one could (easily) argue that some parts of the entertainment industry certainly are, but I wouldn't count this as one of them.
He should be the next James Bond.

I am a Serb and our language is a bit rough and sharp otherwise, so we don't like British and American at all, we sound like idiots. Scottish, Welsh and Irish are much easier and closer to us.

English from New Zealand, Australia and Britain is too soft for us, too much of that "WOW, OW, AOW ..." in the pronunciation of the words, you avoid the letters T and R and it sounds to us like you have a lot of candy in your mouth while talking 🤣🤣🤣 i have a sister in sydney so i know very well.

This is one of the best interview clips from Jimmy’s shows. No huge laugh track, no interrupting the guests and just generally letting the conversation flow whilst still being a funny host! Love it!

This actor was on GOT for such a brief time and yet he made such an amazing impact. I can't help but wonder how the show would have gone had Robb Stark lived to the end.
He was on the show for three years. In his final year, he was consistently in most episodes leading up to the famous Red Wedding episode. Madden's acting obviously connected with the viewers because he's gone on to big roles and performances in many movies and shows.
After his brilliant performance in The Bodyguard he should really be considered as a future James Bond 👌🏼

Madden did win in real life . He has two box office hits to his name like Cinderella and Rocketman. He had a successful show like Bodyguard after GOT won the golden globe cause he can actually act unlike some of the GOT cast . The rest GOT cast except the really established actors have had little to no success outside GOT . He's death on GOT was because the boltons and freys are opportunists, you dont see any of the other bannerman of the north thinking that their king is nearly loosing , let me kill him, just the boltons thought that . The fucking sick illbred Lannisters, freys,boltons broke more important oaths then Robb . It wasnt boltons daughter Robb didn't marry, so why turn on Robb except cause their Opportunists - tywin did this cos hes a coward, couldn't beat Robb so had him assassinated. Glad tywin is dead , he can join his bitch of a wife ,Joana in the 7 hells, Joana who gave the world two monsters like Cersei and Jamie.
