As you point out, that 21 PE is distorted by last year's earnings: they had a 10% profit margin in FY22, when they are normally in thr 7-8% range. I am not sure I would bet on them sustaining it.
With that said, they are guiding for 10% margin again in FY23, and Fastenal's, which you covered a while back, is consistently at 15%.
It is nearly impossible to get these high quality names in the sp500 at decent valuations.
I went through the WSML index a while back and found MSM and GIC in the industrial distribution sector, 5b and 1b market cap respectively, both with consistent double-digit ROIC and PE in the 12-14 range.
