Great job buddy!! Your a well rounded pilot! Quads, planes, helis too! I've heard that flying the helis were some of the hardest flying of all? The 3D flying is crazy on those things! Really Looks cool when it flips! Take care Jay
Those batteries may extend flight time, but they also likely double the weight of the helicopter which is already on a fine power/weight balance. Good review.
I don't know if you already figured this out or not, but if you press and hold the mode transition button, it does work. Also I wish I would have seen this video a few days ago before I pitched my tail section into the garbage. I tried super gluing it, which actually worked well the first time I broke it. After 15 more crashes, I just couldn't glue it any more, lol. I broke it in exactly the same place as yours! Never thought about hot melt glue. Unbelievable flying you do here in this video BTW. This is my first heli, and am having a very tough time learning with it.
+Jack Daugherty Aww, that sucks :/ I my experience, I almost never use super glue, as it just simply does not hold. Hot glue is the way to go :P Thanks, hope you get the hang of it soon!
I can't believe you were able to glue that tail back together like that and still have the heli fly well. Any time I've tried a tail fix like that on a heli, it would end up with crazy flight characteristics, since it's pretty much impossible to get the tail glued back perfectly straight. I've had a ton of requests to review this one, but I think I may wait and see if they do any other scale models. Blade just released an Apache, so maybe WLtoys will follow suit.
The RCAddict I got the BNF, with a 10% coupon, for just under $200. Brushless main and tail motors, 4-rotor head, officially licensed scale details, CP, 6-axis... pretty feature packed. But I've heard some bad things about it. The Apache is my personal dream helicopter though, so I couldn't pass it up. :)
The RCAddict It's Spektrum, like all Blade and Horizon Hobby models. :) No flips for me, especially in a scale model like that. I don't like making repairs. hahaha
Flyin' Ryan RC Ok. Haha, you won't even try them up higher so you can use the swith to bail out? All you have to do is give a burst of throttle, hold pitch diretion, then lower it to 0 throttle, keep holding pitch, then go back to up throttle and will make nice and easy ones like I did in the vid ;P
+DutchRC ADVENTURES Thanks! Just realized I uploaded it in 720p... oops. The do not even really notice the ratchet ;P I need to figure out how to get Movie Maker to actually save it in 60fps, and not degrade quality... :/
You're welcome :) Ahh well.. 720P isn't the end of the world I guess.. Especially in an mostly indoors video.. The flying would indeed have been better in 1080P60 :)
DutchRC ADVENTURES Yeah, seems like even though I specifically set it to 20k kbs which should be plenty (right?) ad 60 fps it is still downgraded. Maybe I should change the setting in my cam to 60p instead of 60i?
A couple of issues here you can’t cut the wires to the battery because you said in your video the polarities are opposite so that means the way you showed it in your video you have red on black and black on red. You can’t do that because that will burn out your battery if you plug it in and cause swelling and damage to the battery pack itself and the charger. I say when you buy the batteries, you have to make sure you keep the voltage, correct 3.7 V you can go higher in amperage but not voltage.
Discover RC Yeah, stock batteries sagged so bad only got like 3 mins fligth time, the nanos had more power and like 5 mins flight time. I have no idea if it could handle 2S though
Nice flying yo! can you please tell me which of the Nano-Tech 750mah 1s 35-70C Lipo batteries you brought from Hobby King? It looks like they have many of the same battery but I believe some only fit certain copters/drones. I ordered a V931 and it will be here Monday.....it would be nice to have the extra "horsepower".
+The RCAddict thanks so much for your assistance but one more minor thing, the connector for the battery over on Hobby King looks black versus the white connectors on your batteries in your excellent video. Will that black looking connector fit or do we need to buy connector ends?
+The RCAddict I know I said earlier that I had one more minor thing but here's another. Why do we have to change the polarity with the HK batteries? and how did you know you had to change the polarity? I have the bird and the batteries and I'm ready to fly!
Supreme2u They are manufactured with a specific model in mind, so the polarity is for that. It is backwards of almost all other batteries though. I plug them into my charger, and it beeps if it is reverse.
hey how do those nano tech batteries fit? they look quite a bit larger than the stock ones which are already tight, and i heard the 720's off of banggood are also extremely hard to fit the canopy over.
+Thrashaero These are indeed larger, and the canopy is harder to fit :/ It is not impossible, but the magnets certainly aren't very strong. Most of the time I found my self just leaving it off, as slightly less weight, and cooled the internals.
Hi! I'm not trying to start an argument, but I've seen a couple videos where the presenter commented on the durability of this heli, and its ability to withstand crashes. And, one person felt that the AS350, even with all of its flying capabilities, would be suitable for a beginner. Can you offer any further comments about the AS350? I think it's a really cool 'copter. Thanks!
I don't think it is very durable, and certainly not a good beginner heli no. Something like the WL Toys V911 would be much better to start with for a 4ch.
RonN448 hey there, I have this heli in the XK123 version, that one is a little harder to fly, I'm not very good at flying these aircraft but I can without crashing them , I started out in the v911 like most folks do , there fun but not cp flying, what they do well is teach orientation , that is key to flying, learn that and you'll be able to fly most everything , I have many , my best is my T-Rex 600 nitro, I'm still in my scale flying stage, which I prefer , def cheaper than chasing parts, so is this a durable heli, I'd say yes to a point, all I ever broke was the little tilt handle that is on the tail of the heli, I glued a pice of white wire shield on it for a fix, and I broke that when it fell off my display shelf, to keep costs down is the way I fly, and that is I don't take risks that I know I may crash and need parts, anything risky I do on the simulator un till I can do it in my sleep , and that's it , I practice a routine till I can fly it blindfolded and never deviate from that flight plan, as soon as you go outside of your plan , you crash, I take my time in learning all flying styles, everyone of my heli are in flying condition , most are perfect condition, I met a rep from align and he told my this is how I should learn to fly, well it works , keep it simple until you get good , remember the heli is designed to fly , most crashes can be prevented , baby's steps
@@fredhouseal5535 very well explain fred, this actually a great advice for anyone stepping into scale models cp flying because they are designed and ment for scale flight like the real ones. Btwn I love the xk k models, xk 123 is no where near to v931 xk.has lot of advance settings and complicated tx and need patience to set the t.curve and p.curves, they replicated the nine eagles tx. I know this is old post but I have recently stepped into cp flying and I am searching and learning about cp helis.. nowadays most of heli hobbyist have moved on to fpv drones. But I still love the helis. Thank you very much,,_ cheers
Hello Rcaddict if you want to learn 3D flight i really think you should get a cheap sim and learn it there, then buy a bigger size heli because the small ones are a bit to small you cant see them to well and they arent as smooth and slow as the bigger ones :D
+monkeymaster26 Well, I don't have any money to spend on a sim. Also would need to get a compatible tx. Also not really too interested in 3D helis at this moment.
Cały regulator silnika, esc i problem występuje nadal Pozdrawiam z Polski
Great flying, you got a great place to fly there buddy.I recon you could fly a dustbin lid if you tried. One heck of a pilot.👍
Great job buddy!! Your a well rounded pilot! Quads, planes, helis too! I've heard that flying the helis were some of the hardest flying of all? The 3D flying is crazy on those things! Really

+newmanfam9 Thanks man! A CP heli is probably the hardest thing to fly, when inverted and doing tricks and stuff.
Those batteries may extend flight time, but they also likely double the weight of the helicopter which is already on a fine power/weight balance. Good review.

well done Mussels! that was some good flying

The ratcheted throttle stick was a bit of a fail on a 3D heli, but it's not super bad..

I fly in this helicopter as a Nurse/Paramedic. Formerly I flew in a Bell 407.
PS Just to say the model is beautifully detailed and well engineered, I have one too.
Great review and flying!

good detailed review, made me think twice about this heli
:)
Amazing flying skills you have! :-)
:)
I’m confused on if the XK K123 and WLToys AS350 are the same and just different names or they are different with different names.
They're exactly the same thing, just sold under two different brands. Doesn't matter which one you get.
where are you put that nano battery in when it’s no space for that!!!!!!!!
Nice flying yo! can you please tell me which of the Nano-Tech 750mah 1s 35-70C Lipo batteries you brought from Hobby King? Supreme2u The batteries linked are the exact same, that black part is just some heatshrink on the end for more durability :)

+The RCAddict leaving the canopy off???
Thrashaero Yeah, I just slide the battery in, which stays, and leave the front off. Doesn't bother me .
+The RCAddict but then its super ugly and defeats the whole point of a scale heli.
Thrashaero True true..haha. I wouldn't buy it again ;D
What sort of modification did you do to get those larger batteries to fit?
+Ken C None, they fit in. They are a little longer, so the canopy is not as nice to put on though :/
amazing toy
Do you fly it in its maximum high?

How to bind wltoys as350…my as350 wont start
nice. how did you learn 3d? simulator or any other 6ch heli?
+Ashish Amatya I have no simulator, just out it in 3D mode and figure it out :P
Lol, the pins on the battery plug can be release and switched. No need to cut and solder.

Hey nice vid love them all are you going to do a review of the FPV grear you got once again love the channel
+dronespecialist Thanks man! I am going to do an update video on the whole quad, including the FPV gear soon :)
Nice flying. Your parents should get you an upgrade. You’re ready.
This is a very old video, I also buy everything my self.
nice flying bud... :)
+RcNickster Thanks :P
+The RCAddict fuck
Wow, you are a pro flyer. I'd crash that thing in a second.
Why does the box say JJRC ._.
cool review.

Do you do nitro helicopter videos
No :/
you should get the wltoys v977
+Timmy Dean I will probably get another helicopter in the near future and will take a look at that one.
Just switch the pins, it is easy to do
+Willie Walley Will try that next time, already done though ;)
Robo Tiger In the battery connector, instead of cutting and re soldering the wires, as these new batteries were reversed polarity.

I really want 1 but its expensive :(
This is very old, they probably have some cheaper models now.
That thing is noisy XD
+Carson Games Haha, not too bad for a brushless geared motor working it's butt off ;D
hey, my computer is pretty much broken so I might not be able to talk to you as often sorry
PLUS!!!!!!! MY B-DAY IS COMING UP AND MY MOM SAID SHE MIGHT GET ME A QUAD COPTER!!!!!!!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Carson Games Haha, nice :P
its not my computer, its my account XD
